  1. It's certainly good that the club are now in a position to offer Boyd a contract as the bank wouldn't allow them to do so until recently. If only the bank hadn't been putting a stop to new contracts then perhaps Boyd would have been tied up some time ago.
  2. Great title for the book. ....but as for the song.... Not one of the TB's best.
  3. Murray stated that the club was for sale more than 2 years ago, but it just got formally listed a couple of months ago. Nothing changed when it was listed, so i can't see anything changing if it comes off the list.
  4. If defensive central midfielder isn't McCulloch's best position then what is? Striker? Centre half? Left mid? Don't see it.
  5. You were replying to a post that did, and you didn't delete that part of the post, which certainly implied that you were referring to the songs, even if that was not your intention.
  6. I don't see the connection between the 2 songs and sectarianism. I know the press try and infer one where there isn't. It's just a shame that we do their job for them as well. I also don't see the relevance of the founders. Rangers are more than just a football club now. It has evolved into being an integral part of Scottish society, and arguably "Scotland's second greatest institution".
  7. I don't see much difference between the Sash and Derry's Walls. Both refer to battles, both are stirring songs and both have been sung by Rangers fans for decades. Oh, and both have been villified incorrectly by the press and I will not allow the press in Scotland to dictate my views or what I sing, and I don't accept that because we get negative press over it that it becomes "stupid" to sing them.
  8. Is that only because of injury to one of the preferred centre half pairing though?
  9. I heard one of the radio stations raving about his performance but I wouldn't say he was in the running for MOTM.
  10. On the other hand remember Soti got signed by Liverpool!
  11. I'd go for :kb: followed by Miller.
  12. King confirmed on RC that Duffy had contacted him. I heard him saying that prior to the article that wabash quotes, and I was surprised at the contradiction when i read it a few days after his RC statement.
  13. apart from the number of directors that he wants on the board, it seems.
  14. Bump. If anyone is interested, I still have a few left. Please PM me. Makes a great Christmas pressie. The Executive model is now £65.
  15. Did they ever explain the method of counting the vots of the poll? Did they say if it was based on the nuber of shares or number of shareholders? I don't recall them explaining it.
  16. I don't think that you were misconstruing my views. I'd agree with a lot of what you said, but many would have said similar about Fred Goodwin a while back. I'd like to answer more fully but need to go.
  17. No surprise there, although the announcement was earlier than they had said. It was meant to be announced tomorrow morning at 8.30am. I wonder if this is to prevent some headlines?
  18. I have just been talking to Boss about this very thing. My take on it is the same as yours and it's just the same as it was, although he believes that there may be a chance that there's an extra million to be repaid.
  19. I was there and I don't think he escaped unscathed. I also don't consider the statements as lauding him. Using phrases like "well-intentioned" has some veiled criticism. I was actually surprised at how little praise the directors threw at Murray. You think 2 out of 4 for someone who is pulling the strings and controls over 90% of the shares is "not bad"? It seems bloody awful to me. I've already said to you on a previous thread that I don't have any evidence that Muir is a bank appointee. However some of the wording used at the meeting today was a little unusual, and describing him as "an active liaison between Murray Group and Lloyds Bank" doesn't suggest to me that he was acting on solely on behalf of MIH. There's other stuff as well that helps paint a picture. I know that you don't believe it and I can understand that, and it has crossed my mind that the noises that emerged when Muir was appointed (which were very convincing) were all a set up, but statements that have since come out haven't made me change my mind.
  20. It's again possible, but I'm still of the opinion that MIH would not charge us for Murray's time. Everyone elses? Why not, but Murray enjoys the "I don't take anything out" too much to try and be sneaky and do it by the back door.
  21. That's also possible. However if the fee was at arms' length then you wouldn't think that Rangers could refuse to pay it. There's nothing wrong with a Murray company charging Rangers a commercial rate for their services.
  22. I wasn't accusing Johnston of lying. I was asking you if you were as your beliefs seem to contradict each other. I'm interested in how you see the 2 issues agreeing with each other. You avoided answering the question, so I'll try again. How can AJ be Murray's man if he is refusing to accept Murray appointees onto the board?
  23. That's possible, although the word "discontinue" suggests it's been going on for a while. However it could have been that we were also being charged for Donald Wilson's services previously, which was accepted but now they will not accept charges for Muir and McGill.
  24. Are you accusing AJ of lying when he said that they refused to accept 2 Murray appointees on the board, or how can Murray be influencing everything if he can't even insist on what board members are appointed?
