  1. Perhaps Ricky can correct me but from the brief highlights I saw, I'm sure I heard the Merry Ploughboy with their "And I'm off to join the I.R.A." line, "Go home, ya huns" (but no Rangers in sight), and the James McGrory song with add-ons (IRA, FTQ). Probably a lot more on top but I didn't see much of the game.
  2. But that seemed to be more for off-field activities rather than form.
  3. Definitely, but will walter be brave enough to do it? I'll be surprised if Alexander is in goals this w/e.
  4. Mendes was great in the first half, but overall I'd give it to Thomson. Frankie, you're being generous in giving McGregor 4.
  5. Yeah, didn't look as good.
  6. I don't see it as a get out clause and would be surprised if tried to use it as such as they then get criticised for introducing the surcharge. It's their own fault and, as you say, they have to take responsibility due to their previous attitude.
  7. Celtic's pro-IRA chants were apparently at an all-time "high" at the Hearts game. Celtic didn't control their distribution of the tickets due to this ticket handling surcharge argument, so if the tickets have gone to people who don't regularly attend then the policy has come back and bit Celtic on the bum.
  8. UEFA didn't deny it either. Obviously I don't know the wording of your letter, but in the reply to one that I sent they didn't deny the ban, although it was specifically referred to. It's not proof that it is banned, but organisations like UEFA would tend to point out inaccuracies like that if it was not the case so that they are not caught out legally by implicitly agreeing to something by remaining silent on it. Perhaps off-subject (but perhaps not) in another letter, they say that they fully support Nil By Mouth.
  9. Can't stand the wee Celtic loving tosser, but if it was someone else then I'd agree.
  10. I'm sorry, but that's bollocks. Edit: A vast majority of people who go to Church each Sunday don't think twice about the RC religion.
  11. Agreed. Not necessarily. Calscot's point is far more important IMO.
  12. I wouldn't dispute that, having written to UEFA a couple of times myself (They must be sick of us Scots by now!) The point I was trying to make is that just because you don't write doesn't mean that you don't care.
  13. You don't need to be protesting against anything to be a Protestant.
  14. I spoke to an RST guy who did see it, and I don't believe he had any reason to lie. Whether the letter was kosher is another matter. BTW, do you have to have witten off to UEFA for TBB to mean something to you?
  15. But justified how?
  16. Yes, the club deserve credit for it, nd I'm sure the soldiers had a very well-deserved great time. However that doesn't take away from the fact that they deliberately tried to stifle the crowd when the soldiers were on the park. I didn't have the opportunity to see them in the stand or the WRC, and I felt it was a letdown for me.
  17. What a let down. The crowd were up for giving them a great reception. The soldier were obviously buzzing so what do the club do? Put on some awful tune that was anything but stirring, and turn up the volume to drown out the crowd, all but killing the atmosphere. A great moment spoiled by incompetence (or fear) at the club. Dickheads.
  18. As MF has already said, the police interpret it. If they don't then why are they issuing statements on the song? Under what grounds have they arrested people? What are they being charged with?
  19. Frankie, do you think that the ban could have been requested by the club to prevent (in their eyes) the risk of further sanctions?
  20. If the Police came out with a statement saying why exactly they were threatening to arrest people than I wouldn't need to have to contact them. Until they do, I reserve the right to bad mouth them on this issue.
  21. Surely it's the Police who are threatening to arrrest people over the song? As far as I'm concerned they share a great deal of responsibility here.
  22. Disagree. There are a sizeable number who are making an issue of this. It's emerging into a bigger issue about freedom of speech etc. You may not be concerned about it, but there are plenty who are, hence the articles written by Frankie and calscot etc, and the other work going on behind the scenes.
  23. I can email some Gers related mp3s if required.
  24. The agreement has been known about for a while, but questions do have to be asked why it took so long for it to be confirmed.
  25. There still is basic racism alive and well in the game today which doesn't need definition. Chants at a black man because of his colour is racist. For example, there were incidents in a recent Division 1 game. Just because some parties try and deflect their own insecurities and claim racism where none exists doesn't mean that work should be abandoned on true racism. We do need organisations such as SRTRC to be strong against pressure from the self-interest that you refer. Whether they can prove to be is another matter.
