  1. As bad as that? Suppose they are hated because they have no tradition, an artificial club if you like.
  2. Because Scotland is not a club not the SFA and we have no other country to play for. Players of any ambition and pride want to pay for their country.
  3. All the 'H's were positives today: Halliday - showed why he was missed in the 5-1 Holt- box to box performance, need his running at people Hill - best game yet for us Hodson - never put a foot wrong
  4. Hill was with Dembele all the way - don't see how you blame him there.
  5. You wonder what the point of buying him was; he's not a direct replacement for anyone, not like he's a like-for-like sub. At St. J. he was effective as an outlet on the right and put a good few goals away too. If we don't play him, have we bought a player we don't need?
  6. I'm worried to death about today if I'm honest and fearing another humiliation. Not because I think Keltic are that much better than us - I don't - but because of our centre backs. I presume Wilson is injured? Can't understand why we have so many left-sided defenders, that in itself creates an imbalance. Was good to hear MW claim he made mistakes (leaving Halliday out last time was certainly one) but he seems wedded to 4-3-3 when I think with our defence we need 2 holding centre mids. Barton and Halliday would have been perfect (better than Brown and Bitton) so I suppose the nearest is Rossiter and Halliday. McKay seems to be well off form now which is a big concern. Keltic have a bigger squad but apart from Dembele there's really no one from their squad I would want in ours. Hoping Kenny can be our talisman again.
  7. The German side without 5 key players are still far too good for the Scottish champs. And to think there are some who don't want us to move to the Atlantic League but stay and fester in Scotland where we get no real competition.
  8. This could be construed as a Public Order offence under section 5 of said bill. He could certainly be arrested and charged as it is in a public place.
  9. He certainly doesn't confirm to the brains in the feet stereotype as witness his appearances on the likes of Question Time; but you are right about testosterone. I wasn't meaning to get into a biomedical debate but I've had a doctor proscribe it for me as supposed treatment for my thyroid disease and I hardly recognised myself! Back to JB - somewhere at the back of my mind I have an uneasy feeling that the whole signing for RFC was a stunt to plug his book, the timing and all.Hope I'm wrong, for I think he and Halliday could be some partnership.
  10. In that twitter feed I just posted someone claimed that he said to Halliday that his "Son was older than Sevco." wtf?
  11. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiOtO6v19DPAhXrCcAKHfBGBlYQFggfMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cheltenhamfestivals.com%2Fliterature%2Fwhats-on%2F2016%2Fjoey-barton-with-owen-jones%2F&usg=AFQjCNFOlqldunJSsFjvJlK9I5OhuBv2Cg&sig2=9FWV4A_2ftjdGptmoeChzg Going to be speaking to Owen Jones live at the Cheltenham Book Festival. Be interesting to see if he has similar political views. Cannot fathom how such an intelligent man can lose his cool so easily.
  12. Agree with most of what you say but it's not as simple as Strachan being Celtic-minded; for example, Martin has no Celtic links and he would not have preferred Robertson to Tierney if he was. That said, if we drop points v Slovakia it really is all over. Just who replaces him is a problem; wish it could be Lars Lagerback.
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-37571868 It's child abuse no less. He may be talented but this is likely to stunt his development. Oh, and what happened to Islam Feruz?
  14. Good signing for them. Could have done us a turn.
  15. [ I firmly believe that we've missed a trick as a club and a support. We should be hailing from the roof tops about how diverse our support really is, we should be engaging with community groups in Govanhill, Castlemilk and beyond with large multicultural demographics and forcing the political class to take notice. I stood on the club deck concourse at the Ross County game and saw Sikh, Chinese, Black, White and Eastern European fans either outside on Edmiston Drive or inside the stadium wearing scarves etc without a care in the world and certainly not deterred from the club by the attempts of some to paint us as intolerant xenophobes. By downplaying or keeping stoic about the positive side of our club and support we play right into the hands of the REAL intolerant groups shaping the debate. Exactly. I remember when he had a young centre back (Jaz Jutla?) who was of Indian origin I think. Shame he didn't make it.
  16. Coincidentally I was listening to a Radio 4 programme this morning which was talking about Liverpool's history and sectarianism brought about by Irish immigration. The city has a history not unlike Glasgow's, yet the Pro4stant -Catholic thing has always has the lid kept on it. An uncle once said to me that L'pool was the Protestant team and Everton the catholic but I've heard of both sets of fans standing together at games. And we never seem to hear of references to the Hillsborough dead. I'd hate to think there's something more poisonous about Scotland but it certainly is beginning to look that way. I remember abuse when I walked past the catholic primary in Penilee as a kid but the Aberdeen thing is something that started with the Simpson tackle and got blown up; it's baffling that there seems to be more hate generated by this fixture than the Keltic matches.
  17. It's a bit like Hillsborough; did the Sun sack any of their journalists? Don't think any paper will go further than an apology. We may have to go down a legal route.
  18. Only one thing worse than unrequited love is unrequited hatred. We can be sure that ours is most definiteley requited:D
  19. Puts our result into perspective. What Barca and the Red Imps could do we can't.
  20. I ask in all innocence - do they not have cctv in the washrooms?
  21. Jeez, I didn't see such a hammering coming, I really did not. And we'll see how ordinary they are next week when Barcelona gub them.
  22. 2-2! Maybe not a disaster looming!
  23. Christ! Both centre halves given 2 goals away. Senderos should have picked up Dembele for the first.
