More Players to Leave McLeod@BBCLiamMcLeod
alexscottislegend replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
I read Mark Wotte praising him to the heavens not that long ago. We must build around people like that; if we don't then we really are dead. I don't want us to become a guest club for loanees and has-beens. We need a solid core of Rangers players, hand-reared, more than ever before. -

I didn't mean literally Jig plus 10 but we still don't know for sure who else is staying. Maybe Alexander in goal and an experienced centre back? -

Whatever squad we start with I hope it's comprised of young Scottish players in the main. It will be hard enough getting back to the top with youths but it will be something to follow, watching them progress and develop albeit with some setbacks - the likes of Ness and Perry. What I sincerely hope we do not do is to recruit any more foreign mercenaries or players in the twilight of their careers; I mean like Capucho, Ostenstad etc. If we go down that route - the elephant's graveyard route - then it will truly be the end of our club. At least with home-grown youngsters we can start building some togetherness and maybe breeding loyalty again. Thank God for Jig - he could be invaluable at the Div. 1 level. My big fear is that Green will use his agency contacts to stuff us full of anonymities from League One, two and three. -

Bollocks Whittaker. You wouldn't be missed anyway. Crap defender. -

It was only a couple of weeks ago that many on here were eulogising Naismith, saying he was a true Ranger. There's no such thing these days, with the possible exception of Nacho. -
Trouble is the fans' voices have been listened to over our expulsion from SPL; those left have now to make up the shortfall by increasing their attendances.
-
Classic post mate. There's so much there I can empathise with. I too came down to England at a tender age and have some Catholic cousins who support Keltic. Frankie - any chance you can put this on main site?
-
Is not that something that could be seized upon by a good legal team? Another reason for staying until we are pushed out:if we jump first then we undermine our case.
-
Welcome. Collingwood supporter I presume?
-
Yeah, that is what I was getting at. Hope you're right about getting the 'restriction' reduced because the longer it goes on the more likelihood there is of us never getting back to what we consider is our true status. ATM I see this as just a little local difficulty; the novelty of playing in a lower league(s) might just be a pleasant diversion for us - for a time. After all even Manure had to endure relegation before regrouping to become the force they are now.
-
If that were to happen then I suppose our Europe ban would extend to effectively 4 seasons?
-
Why are people assuming we will go into SFL3 and not SFL1? They may not allow us to go into the third tier as there could be huge security/capacity issues with the size of the stadia. We get relegated from SPL and Dundee replace us and there is a Div. 1 vacancy. The fixture list would be more akin to the old 18 team league with the like of Dumbarton and Morton as our opponents not Stenhousemuir and Albion R.
-
Imagine if they were the ONLY ones! Oh, the irony. Lawwell would be hated by the rabid ones.
-
We've got so used to Romanov's ramblings that there is no need to comment, but his last paragraph is true - about Scottish football being better supported per capita and underfunded by Sky.

All this has turned me into a cynic. If tomorrow, Sheikh Abdul Rahman from the Emirate of Ahmadi turned up at Ibrox, called a press conference and plonked £70m on the table on his right hand and had Ronaldo and his agent on his left actually signing, I would say, hang on a wee minute, something isn't right here...I would anticipate the Record headline 2 days later: "Rahman pulls out of bid to buy Rangers for pocket money."

Zappa, who's Swiss Tony? I have been trying to keep up, honestly I have.

Don't get the antipathy for King just because he was part of the oldco. I know the RSA tax thing is a concern for some, but that country is so corrupt that I have to question whether he did anything really wrong. We keep saying we need RFC fans with money and when we get one, we pillory him! If he was such a crook then surely he would have rumbled by the media we have here; some of them would have been itching to further embarrass us.

WALTER SMITH two-year blueprint

But King is a Rangers man who has ploughed £20m into our club - we can't easily disregard that. I get the new broom thing, but there just is no sugar daddy who has not already come forward. Paul M. has no cash of his own but he DID speak out v Whyte. Blame SDM if you want someone to blame. -

KING, you say? Dave King? Where have you heard his name mentioned? Or do you think he's always been there in the background, given he was coinvinced we would be liquidated? -
Because FIFa don't allow teams to play in another country's league. You can onlt do that if you have no professional league of your own like andorra or San Marino or something.
-
SPL have just announced we'll be in the fixture list next week. Does that mean anything ahead of the vote, or is just that we've not been officially liquidated?
-
You're not answering my point: what to do NOW? I'm not having a go at you, I'm hearing what you say. Mass protest for instance?
-
So what would you have had us do? There was nothing we could do to stop D&P - Whyte appointed them, they appointed Green as PB. It's all right being negative if you can suggest options at the time something happens. A certain "Maineflyer" on here campaigned relentlessly to turn us all against SDM despite there being no alternative at the time. Now it seems that the best course might have been to stick with Murray and pay our taxes etc. So - in the predicament we are now in: what should we do? Meanng us as ordinary supporters.

Killie chairman has spoken up for us and against harsh sanctions. How many do we need? Is it 7 or 8?
