    The most important target now is Juhasz and we will still need another CB. Bougie will be a loss.I dont see the other centre backs having his penchant for playing the ball out of defence and joining our attack with his sorties upfield. That's a rare talent and priceless nowadays.

    The difference is that with Blackburn the media won't come looking for him unlike the Glasgow mhedia. I wouldn't rule out him coming to us after a few years in the same way Kenny Miller did after going to wolves.

    We're not acting with any class here. Actually I think he's better away from Glasgow with his 'baggage.' Would be a loss if he went to a championship club but an EPL side? We'd never be able to match the wages even if we can match the fee.

    You're so right. Yet some of us took pelters for being concerned about pre-season friendlies. It's not the fitness let us down - it's the lack of confidence that comes from losing, losing, losing.

    Worried to death about this one, especially with us being at home first. Anything less than a 2 goal lead (preferably 2-0) and we're walking a tightrope. Hope to God I'm wrong but our pre-season results and the Hearts game make me think we're looking at another Kaunas (and Malmo are much better than Kaunas.)

    I'm worried sick about us v Malmo now. You've go to say they are favourites.Even with the advantageof first leg away, Utd. couldn't get past them.

    I'll be raging if this falls through at the final hurdle, since there were quotes from Carlos and Ally M which give us genuine grounds for optimism. If there was never any chance of us meeting his wages then it should have been stated from the outset. I cannot believe that Gordon Smith or whoever at RFC has had no idea of what sort of wage demands CC was asking. If no, then time should not have been wasted like this.

    Surely 'Scotland on Sunday' is more reliable than 'The Record' Ha!Ha! being much more upmarket don't you know. I want to believe this - Cuellar and Bougherra is perfect for me, one a good old stopper, the other can bring the ball out of defence, And Bartley as backup.

    4-1 now against Linfield reserves.They made 9 changes in the second half and they're part-timers, are they not? Still, mustn't grumble.

    And why were we drawn at home again? Dont have the stats to hand but even on a 50-50 basis we should get drawn away occasionally. this puts us at a big disavantage. Can see it being 0-0 then it's squeaky bum time.

    Sadly that may not happen - was Black not arrested for something to do with drugs?

    Me too would fancy Bartley because of his verstility but Wenger's already stated he wants to assess him pre-season so that will be too late for us. I'm amazed that we cannot find 2 decent CB's from the 36 Scottish clubs or the 90 English ones - there must be plenty not getting a regular game who could do a job for us.

Regardless of whether or not we get Carlos this is still a huge disappointment - we need 2 CB's at least because you can't count Weir anymore and Bougie will have one more season at most.

    Thanks for injecting a welcome touch of realism but surely if there was no mileage in it Ally wouldn't have raised it in the first place.There must have been some informal dialogue taking place before it got to formal stage. My concern is his fitness, for why otherwise would Eck let him go - there's no way in the world he's a poorer defender than Collins and Richard Dunne.

    What keeps happening to me is when I selct 'reply with quote' and type in my message - it says 'message to short!!' In other words I cant reply with a quote from another poster! what am I doing wrong?
