  1. Are you joking? Have you seen some of his performances? Without him they would have been relegated. He has had injury problems. I rate McGregor but Gordon is better on crosses for example.
  2. Sadly, he probably won't be playing.
  3. And then there's Rothen and Aaron; loans for that position never seem to work out. Martin Petrov would be best if only we could afford the wages.
  4. Ah....'You make me feel so young..":)
  5. I meant the last word in this thread. Or do you suggest that 'Minty' contributes to these forums?
  6. Please, admin, can we close this thread now. I care about Rangers F.C far too much to see its affairs the subject of 'intellectual' cut-and-thrust. There's a few posters on here more interested in their own one-up-man-ship. It's bad enough with the press; the joke has gone too far. Let 'Ascender's' comment be the last word.
  7. We've been linked with Petrov. Could fill the void on our left side, keeping Lafferty from playing there. Suppose wges will be the problem.
  8. Can I hopefully be the first one to ask: would he a be a Welcome addition to the squad?
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/8717041.stm Already agreed terms acc. to BBC. Don't know much about the lad, but unless he is a wide, preferably left, midfielder, I doubt he's soemone we need. Still , signing anyone at the moment is a gleam of hope..
  10. Pleased to hear you say that. Only thing is they have a reasonably easy passage to the quarters. They could even beat Germany in the second round.
  11. Just what I was thinking. Where are 'they' getting the money from?
  12. I agree it looks like a rugby shirt, but that apart, it seems at long last to be proper Royal Blue - none of this 'light blue' rubbish.
  13. And that's exactly the position he never got to try at Ibrox. Too often he was shunted out wide where he hasn't the pace. B'pool use him in his best role and have built their system around him. I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Or in a swap deal for Lafferty!
  14. So it's a question of which arrogant bastard you like least. Van Gaal plays attacking football so I'd prefer Bayern to win. My fear is that will be a 0-0 then extra time and penalties with Mourinho winning. Not good for Football.
  15. Spot on. We have to rid ourselves of this parochialism. Like you say, it was good to see them punctured in Seville at the last hurdle.
  16. Yeh, I know, but the Europe money wouldn't half come in handy...
  17. For heaven's sake, don't be childish. We actually need THEM to progress to help Scotland's - and therefore our - chance of improving seedings. The fact they're unlikely to progress is a disaster for Scotland and, ipso facto, for us. We cannot improve the seedings all on our own. C'mon M'well and Dun U!
  18. There was a time when anyone called Danny or Kevin would seem odd at Ibrox. Kevin Drinkell was once nicknamed 'Billy' by some because they couldn't utter 'Kevin'!
  19. I don't know who is advising him, but I cannot imagine he is anyway near ready for a L'pool or Spurs first team. It should be pointed out to him that he could be in reserve football for 2-3 seasons. Is that preferable to being a first teamer at Ibrox and playing in Europe? It's not always about money - it's about career development too. If he is a Keltic fan then that does change things a bit for me; he would no doubt at some point want to play for them and I would hate to see any player go in a direct transfer, so the EPL is a natural route.
  20. Cannot believe the arrogance of it. Just because they won six games in a row. We won nine titles in a row.
  21. So would I . But not yet. Wait till he's had a wee bit more success and the sale is cpmpleted. Another one for the future - and I stress future - is Derek McInnes.
  22. Please God this doesn't happen. If we lose youngsters of this quality this early then we might as well compete at first division level. No transfers and no youth policy.
  23. That's the point: they couldn't stomach a Rangers man pure and simple. Whereas I would not reject out of hand someone with a Keltic connection if they were suitable. A tragedy, this. People have said we need a football man -who else was so articulate and had such a footballing profile? Furthermore, we'll now get a 'blazer' in to replace him.
  24. Totally agree. But I have mixed feelings. Remember Gretna in Europe? To have another 2nd tier team would be a disaster.
  25. At the time he was considered to be the worst buy in the premiership. Souness even tried to make excuses for him, saying the pitches didn't suit his long legs or something like that. Anyway, he didnt look the same player; maybe we over-rated him too much. Wouldn't say the same about Cuellar - he was a standout against European opposition.
