  1. 1-0 Candeias with a great strike from 20 yards, keeper blundered badly! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Classic deflection tactics from Rodgers. His team have been playing rubbish since before Xmas, they didn't beat us at home, they haven't done much in the transfer window, are about to get whipped in Europe again. If only we had put a proper manager in place last summer, I believe we could be winning this league. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Just as when he left us first time round, he is chasing the money. I'm not saying that's wrong, but he has consistently shown that figures more highly in his thoughts than his game.
  4. Delighted if this agent-planted story becomes true. Was happy when he signed but 2.5 years of dross with a few good games theown in just as contract talks are starting is not the sort we want hanging around. The "Ricksen effect" - play well within yourself (polite talk for garbage) until your deal is nearly up, play your best stuff until your new deal is signed, and then revert back to type. The only thing wrong in all of this is us offering him a new contract at all, and not trying to move him on for a fee when we moved the other half of the bumble bros (Kiernan) in the summer. In no huge fan of Martin given his Scotland performances (thats all i've seen of him), but if he is coming in and Wilson is going out and there is not much difference in wages, we have improved the first team for free.
  5. That seems to be a very selective list. I seem to recall we were in negotiations with about 4 or 5 centre halfs under Warburton and didnt land any of them. Also not to mention I am sure there were lots of deals we didnt get over the line for a variety of reasons that were not made public. Not all (or perhaps any) of these were due to board incompetence, but to claim they are almost 100% on getting transfers done would be to say they are the most successful club in world football at getting deals done, and their track record from what is known is certainly not that good. A puff piece probably written by Traynor or someone close to the club.
  6. Thats my problem, our club never does much to stand in the way of our players leaving on the cheap. At least we seem to have changed from the days where we actually paid off a contract for a player who had another club lined up (signed the same day) but wasnt in our plans. A player we had brought through our youth system, had played dozens of times for us, including in Europe, and was still in mid-20's. Instead of getting a fee for him, or at worst ripping up his contract, we actually paid him to leave. I will never get over that as long as I breathe.
  7. This is the problem I think we have with our players. If someone isnt playing out their skin we think there is no value to them. Not getting at you personally Stewarty, its a common problem amongst our support and one we need to really work on collectively. We have fans who wanted us to pay £1M for Walker of Hearts, who has done pretty much nothing to date, but are happy to get a full international who still has a few good years in him "off the wage bill". It's madness. Alves might not have been at his career best, but our whole team was a shambles from back to front under Pedro, and we are struggling on with a youth coach in charge. He has had probably 4 or 5 different partners so far (Wilson x 2, McCrorie, Bates, Cardoso) and has been struggling with niggly injuries, so not exactly the best environment to get the best out of him so far. We have to start talking our players up with significant numbers for fees in all the papers and radio/tv, otherwise we will continue to get next to nothing for players who might not be worth much to us, but certainly will be worth a lot to a future club's chances of winning titles/staying up/promotion etc.
  8. I wonder what fee we would get for Alves? With 18 months left on his deal, a full Portugal internationalist with a stellar career, almost certainly going to the World Cup with one of the favourites to win it. We were very lucky to get him on a Bosman, but that doesnt mean he is not worth a transfer fee now. Given his age the fee will not be what it could have been some years ago, but surely around £500K must be the minimum we should look at. If we let him go for nothing it will be a terrible piece of business. We cannot continue to undervalue our good players, and even our not so good players.
  9. Jackson is very anti-King, I guess DK blanked him and his rhag with some juicy info and Jackson is acting like the jilted lover about it. Couple that with protecting a good source (McInnes) and you have his latest piece of lazy propaganda for the downwardly spiralling publication.
  10. Cheers R, I'm so proud of myself. Another couple of years and I might even understand these gif things! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Half time for the kids 1-1 and by the reports on the twitter feed we are bossing it! Burt seems to be having a great game.
  12. I'm quietly quite happy about that. Lets us get straight on with preparations for Dolly on Wednesday night, and get as many players back to fitness as possible.
  13. Wow, cant believe I got that to work! Showing off now, here's another...
  14. Right, lets try this enbed tweets nonsense!
  15. Is this still ongoing?
  16. So our league game v Thistle scheduled for 31/1 will be moved down the line as well. Bet the squad wish they had stayed in the states for another week!
  17. Some positive chest-thumping there in the article, and there is a lot to be positive about with our January window to date. But, and its a huge but, the one position we are not going to improve on in this window is the one position we need addressed more than any other, THE MANAGER!! We have absolutely no chance of overhauling celtic, and will be lucky to finish second, with Murty in charge. He is capable of pulling off a decent result or two against the bigger teams where we can sit in and defend, but our results against the lesser sides in our league has been abysmal.
  18. FFS Colinstein, what a list of scumbags. Hearing Cosgrove was involved was enough for me to know I will never purchase or read said publication, but you are taking it to RaSellikView standards there!
  19. I dont recall us ever playing with a twin strike force under Murty. When we had the diamond did we not have Windass in behind Morelos? They didnt play as a twin strike force to my recollection? Windass playing in the 10 slot has seen him produce his best football for us (still not good enough but so much better than when he plays in a wide area) but I havent ever seen him play as a striker the way Cummings or Morelos would. Unless you are thinking on someone else and I have gone a bit dizzy and cant remember!
  20. A good player on his day but his attributes just dont fit in with our style of play. A fast counter-attacking forward, he is being played as a winger who gets the ball with 10 defenders in front of him. He hasnt a hope in hell of playing his best football at our club. My guess is he was brought back to be makeweight in a deal to bring a better suited player in.
  21. He is a smashing young lad with a great attitude. Always positive about us on twitter, always saying the right things. It is a real shame that so far he hasnt looked very good as a centre half. But better players than him have taken 6 months or more to settle in, so hopefully there are better things to come from him if he is to stay and have a future with us.
  22. There doesnt seem to be much desire from Murty to go to a 2 up top, and we have only went 3 at the back during games due to circumstances, I dont recall we have started with it under him. It looks like while Murty has tried a lot of different shapes in midfield, the back 4 and sole striker seem to be his preference. If we are to sign Martin it must be to partner Alves (or Alves is leaving which I dont see) as there is no point bringing in a 30+ player on loan for 20 games to be backup. While I would agree with Murty that we need a proper partner for Alves as I dont think Wilson, Cardoso or Bates are good enough (a few recent good games apart from Wilson & Bates, their consistency is suspect), I dont believe Martin is good enough to be that defender we need. He has had too many absolute stinkers for Scotland in recent years to be a good player.
  23. No songs are banned under Scottish legislation. Certain words, phrases, intent, can lead to prosecutions under the SNP's anti-football fan act (I know its not called that but that is effectively what it is). The police and leading legal people behind the act consistently refused to be drawn into making up a list, simply because they knew that as soon as you had a list a new song would be sung, very similar to the banned ones, that were not on the list, and make a mockery of the banned list. I got that straight from them in meetings I had with them when this was being brought in, so its not hearsay or my opinion.
  24. Where does Cummings play in our side in your opinion R? To me he is a centre forward, a goalscoring poacher, not a wide forward. He is a good player but is not better than Morelos, so if we are going to continue to play one central striker, I dont see where Cummings fits in? Lets not squeeze him into a wide position or drop him into the 10 slot, because thats not where he does his best work. So for me it's either a twin strike force in a 4-4-2 (or any other shape that results in a -2 at the end) or there is no point buying him. While we need good subs, we certainly need better first team players first.
  25. The law in Scotland prevents Rangers fans singing TBB anywhere in the world apparantly.
