  1. Many thanks to Ian for the updates. I'm glad I didnt waste a couple of hours going to it though! The only interesting things said were the comments by Allen, and even that didnt go far enough. Union Bears have enough room for their membership, and stand all through the game anyway so why bother taking out the seats at a huge cost to our club?
  2. Thats a full out lie from King. Very disappointing. While the decision was ratified by the board, this was a done deal by Graeme Park from day 1. Information 100% accurate from an involved party.
  3. Watch for who wrote this puff piece in what rhag, and perhaps they will come out with an exclusive from "an insider" over the next few weeks. Its what Miller does.
  4. Thats an excellent point, and one most people (myself included) are overlooking. If McInnes is thought by our DOF to be the very best our money can buy, then why did we waste money on a DOF when anyone could have made that call? If we are to get best value from our DOF, then this process has to have a good manager in place as an outcome, and not an obvious choice as predicted by the redtops one the day Pedro was sacked.
  5. Rangers 2 Dolly 1 FGS Holt
  6. Forgot to vote but clearly the vast majority were all in favour. I would like to see votes cast rather than just the bare percentage of votes cast. It would be interesting to know how many of the 7500 paying members actually bothered their arse to vote, or as I suspect, the majority of fans involved are happy to contribute but don't want to get involved. Hope I'm wrong, and I'm part of the problem this time around although I think I have voted on everything else under C1872 to date.
  7. I remember that game very well also. I had the "pleasure" of sitting right behind Andy Cameron and his pals at that game, just in the normal away stand with the punters, and as if the football wasnt bad enough, the patter was equally annoying!
  8. Nothing yet guys? I see another 20 posts since I last looked in and none of it is discussing the new manager, because it looks like nothing conclusive has been done yet by the board and DOF. 8 days till we play dolly at Ibrox and we haven't even interviewed anyone yet??
  9. One of my biggest regrets in watching Rangers is missing the game we scored 10 away from home! My first child was due to be born a couple of days later and I had to miss the game "just in case" my wife couldnt hold her water! As it turned out I also missed the following game at Firhill the next weekend due to my wife being released from hospital with my son to come home. I was chasing up the staff to let her get away in the morning so I could make it back home, get them settled, then still make it across the city in time, but the release papers and all the other stuff didnt get finished until 2pm and I missed the game. What a slagging I took on the bus for missing 2 games just because my wife was having a baby! Times have changed now and I am fairly comfortable to miss a game her and there if there is something else important going on in life, but at that time missing the game was like losing an arm.
  10. This is getting ridiculous now. It is all good and well taking a bit of time to ensure another mistake isn't made like the last time, but that goodwill only exists while the interim keeps winning. We now look like going to Dens under Murty again, where his side got soundly whipped back in March while we waited on us buying out Pedro's contract, with a dolly double header to quickly follow. If it works out that we appoint someone who was available from the outset (a McInnes or a McLeish for example) then the board and DOF look like amateur idiots, which I am sure they are not. I still have a little faith that we are going to appoint someone not linked and whose CV jumped out at them, due diligence done and the time taken turning out to be well spent, but that is probably more what I want to happen and not what i expect to happen. The Dolly fixtures should always have been the furthest away possible deadline for this to be concluded, and if Murty picks that side then major questions have to be answered.
  11. Another good bear gone. Very sad. Condolences to his family.
  12. Agree, cant see any changes unless Alves is fully fit and should come back into the team ahead of Wilson. Not sure who I prefer between Cardoso and Wilson, not exactly a quality choice! Would love to see Murty bench Windass in favour of Nico, especially against an Accies side that will probably be more Parks of Hamilton than Hamilton Accies! I cant see it though as I think Murty will always keep faith with a winning side and we have done well in the last 2 games, and there is not much wrong with that from an interim manager. Hope Murty gets his 3IAR that so eluded his immediate predecessor, and sets us up for a difficult trip to dismal, dreich Dens than a Dolly double dunter!
  13. Hope it all goes well and a new generation of Bears are hooked on the club like we all are.
  14. If the crap songs for players like Windass and Cardoso are anything to go by, he should be happy there is not a song for him!
  15. Agree with GS, and it is very much appreciated!!
  16. I would say the Dorrans and Holt partnership was the best we have seen to date this season and is worth another few games to see if it really is a good blend or was just a good couple of games.
  17. His analysis is very professionally done but a lot of mumbo jumbo nonsense at the same time! If you like that kind of thing, the FIFA game-playing nonsense, then you will really enjoy his stuff. If you prefer to judge players by what they do as you see it live at the games, you probably wont agree with much of what this comes up with. Marmite!
  18. Could it be that they are waiting till the end of next week because their pick is Michael O'Neil who will be available once NI are eliminated in the WCQ????? I have no info, just speculating on a boring Saturday afternoon with no footy!
  19. Wrong, Hamilton come to us. The most simple of facts, so easily checked, but lazy, incompetent journalism is all we seem to get in Scotland these days. How can you take any of the previous article as accurate when the easiest fact to get right, our next fixture, they get wrong. Sighs.
  20. I understand we have to get the right man in, and we cannot afford another Pedro if we are to get back on top before their tainted attempt at 10IAR, but is this really such a time-consuming task? West Ham sacked Bilic on Monday, and had their new manager unveiled on Wednesday. So, are either we far too slow and cumbersome to make a decision, or are clubs like West Ham, who cannot afford to get relegated and therefore need to appoint the right man for them just as much as we do, much more slick and professional than us in this process? Or are we (and perhaps Everton who are taking their time too) doing it the right way and West Ham are just being lazy/ unprofessional by appointing their man so quickly? I haven't done any scientific research in this, so this is just opinion, but it seems to me that most clubs that lose their manager (either sacked, resigned or headhunted) have a new guy appointed within about a week. Usually if there is an interim manager it is for one game, two at most if a midweek fixture is included. At all times, in my opinion, every professionally run club , and especially those with a DOF, should have a number of candidates on their list, some will be available and some perhaps not, and if a managerial change has to happen, they are in a good place to make the changeover a quick and smooth one. Now Pedro's coat has been on a shoogly peg for a considerable amount of time, which ranges from last April after our worst ever home defeat to them, through June in Lux, to another lacklustre home OF defeat, and finally the LCSF, which was now 18 days ago, and we are now fully two weeks since his official departure. This didnt come as a shock to Rangers fans, so why are our board seemingly so unprepared? Sack the manager, invite applications over the following 2/3 days, form a shortlist for interview over the next 2/3 days, and get the new guy in asap. Indications are now that there will be no appointment this week, and Murty is looking like still being in charge for the Accies game which will be 4 weeks after the Motherwell game which we are told is when the board decided enough was enough. Given that it took 6 weeks to appoint Pedro (even though insiders knew it was a done deal even before MW had left) how long should we expect our board to take to get their man in this time without it looking totally incompetent? Ultimately, if they get the right guy nobody will care how long it took as long as Murty can keep the team winning in the meantime, but surely we are allowed to be concerned at the time being taken, for the second time this year, in making this crucial appointment?
  21. As much as I dont rate Pedro, there is no way he was involved in transfer negotiations. Step forward and gives us answers Stewart? This is most definitely the remit of the CEO, and was a staggeringly bad piece of business, as most commented on at the time.
  22. While it wasn't as easy to pick the MOTM as last week, I plumped for McCrorie as he had a solid game defensively and scored the all important opener. Candieas was good but still has too many poor final balls/crosses to be consistent. Holt was as usual the pulse of the midfield and his energy and effort as unmatched, but wasnt as effective as last week. Wes wont have many easier games, Wilson was better than usual but I still get the feeling there is a goal-costing error just around the corner. Windass, goal apart, was typically anonymous mixed with small glimpses of both garbage and cleverness. Full backs were fine, not under much pressure and didnt really get forward as much as other games. Morelos worked really well but he so badly needs a goal now, you can see his confidence waining the longer this drought goes on.
  23. I loved that line, it reminded me of Fraser Aird. During his first season, I would always be sympathising with him that he was really unlucky to come up against the fastest player on the opposition side every week as he looks really fast with his running style. After about 6 months the penny dropped that it was only his running "style" that was fast, his actual pace was average!!
  24. I will trust watching a player live 20 times to make an assessment before I will believe Youtube clips and radar stats. Perhaps the FIFA game-playing generation want to believe stats are everything, its not for me and in no way beats watching a player live in the ground, seeing what they do on and off the ball, how they make decisions, how they read the game, how they react to situations. None of those things are covered in stats, but they give you a far better idea of a players worth to the team than watching on tv, or reviewing their stats alone.
