  1. The banner didnt have anything to do with the RST mate. The boy got it made for 30 quid and did it off his own back. He's from Greenock. I dont know him personally but was told this by someone who does know him.
  2. highlighting our success over the last 20 years only covers up for our failure over the last eight years, which seems to be the topic of discussion at the moment. your right on one point, we should have beaten them. But we were quickly appeased by a spending spree that could and should have taken place before the qualifying games. Gross mismanagement all round there but the large chunk of the blame has to lie with our manager who (a) thought his current squad was good enough and (b) misspent his transfer budget before the games. Even with a long term building plan you have to still compete to an extent. PLG wasnt doing that and the signs were that he wasnt going to get any better. You also have to remember that PLG walked, he wasnt shoved. Fringe players have cost Rangers a fortune in recent years and moving them on has hindered our club drastically. PLGs payoff bill was 5 million alone. But Mr Bain has to take responsibility for this as his dealings in the transfer market in and out have been amatuerish at the best of times. Dont think it really matters how you word it. we had the oppertunity after the clubs record making season to build solid foundations for the future. but now we find ourselves back in the mire we were in six years ago. not to the same level of debt but enough to cause as much concern for the welfare of the club. Nobody seems to be carrying the can for the failure the second time round and the reasons have been widely discussed on this site. i would love to here our chairmans opinions on this.
  3. you know Walter though. flys in the face of popular opinion every time. im suprised he still has a nose.
  4. he has to start. walter must now surely realise that we will win hee haw with the likes of Adam and Laugherty in the side. i pray to god that he does.
  5. just anonther proverbial bag of magic beans then...
  6. About an apparent "big statement" comming out of Ibrox at the end of the week? someone in work told me about it today but couldnt give me any details.
  7. Ive just sent this to the "have your say" on the Official Rangers website. Im not holding my breath for for a reply. Although we have pegged celtic in the league it doesnt hide the fact that behind the scenes we are in a shambles financially. Given the income that the club generated with the sale of Hutton, Cuellar and the European run of last year we should have been going from strength to strength this season. But we are not. We are now in a position were we have to sell at least one top player to apparently balance the books. Why is this the case? And who shoulders the blame for dragging us back to the mess we were in six years previously. As a supporter whos family contributes more than a thousand pounds to the club through season books alone i feel i deserve an answer to these questions. Over to you Mr Murray.
  8. I read the fans "have your say" the other day and didnt know wether to laugh or cry. The shit that is spouted is unbelievable. I think we should all submit to it stating our grievances (in a constructive way) just to see if we get a post up on it.
  9. he might as well be for allthe fist team action hes seen.
  10. never a truer word said mate. They say that the love of money is the root of all evil but religion is right up there too.
  11. he was injured most of the time mate. Hell why do you think we signed him!
  12. Craig ive said before on this site more than once that Murray has far too much faith in his managers were money is concerned, its cost us very dear over the last ten years. Flo is the most obvious example to highlight this point. Smith though has brought in so much dross in his second tenure its unvbelievable. We now have a squad of run of the mill average players that nobody wants. It is also beggars belief that he now complains that his squad is too big when he was the one who brought them in in the first place. As far as the Uefa cup is concerned we have to admit that we rode our luck. Yes Smith got us there but as a supporter given the manner in which we got there i dont feel as if we played in a European cup final. And for smith to say that he played for a draw is unforgivable. Two hundred thousand fans payed homage to the club that day and our manager pissed right down their necks. Some may say that walter was playing to the players limitations with his negative tactics but i think it was the players who were playing to walters limitations. im afraid our manager just isnt good enough for the job in task as much as others feel our chairman isnt up to it either, but i know which one we need to get rid of first mate. and i wont be wasting anymore of my money at Ibrox untill hes gone. good constructive reply to my question though, others struggled to come up with one.
  13. yeah im confused too. You give smith credit for generating so much income, only to piss it all up against a wall and then blame murray. Ive given plenty of reasons why i blame smith for this latest fiasco, so let me hear why this is is murrays fault.
  14. So tell which bit is murrays fault.
  15. Far too many people are using smith incompetence as a rod to beat murray with. Yes there are issues with murray but holding responsible for smiths fucked up transfers this term just doesnt wash with me.
  16. It was smith who selected and purchased the players not murray. It was walter smith who picked the side and deployed the tactics that got us beat in the champions lague CLs. Murray may have his failings but i dont blame him for other peoples mistakes.
  17. The league position doesnt hide the fact that Walter Smiths incompetence is destroying the club off the park calscot. We raked in close to 40 million through sales of two top players and the fortunate run in Europe last year yet we are on our financial knees. do you think its all going to blow over and be nice and rosey if we win the league? we were in a very strong position at the start of the new season as far as the finances are concerned but now were back to square one and as a paying customer thats very difficult to accept give the last six years we have had endure.
  18. 4-2 ya bueaty!
  19. for a manager of Rangers Football Club to openly admit that he didnt try to win in a major European final is a damned disgrace to everyone who forked out money to go and follow their team to Manchester. and to suggest that it was ok to to play those tactics is ludicrous. Its Walter Smiths dealings in the transfer market thats left us skint and having to sell our best players. Its his ill judgement thats put us in the predicament were in Uefa cup run or not. dont even mention Mcleish in the same breath as Eck. The guy brought us two title with NO MONEY TO SPEND while the wayward walter has spent millions in his second term. Wether we win the league or not it wont cover up the monumental mistakes made by Smith. We should have won the league by a country mile last season and well before the fixture congestion but his everlasting faith in the likes of Adam, Darcheville, McCulloch etc whilst the likes of Boyd and Novo were left to rot on the bench left a sour taste in my mouth. his four five one formation was found out and you could see the team falling apart at the seams as far back as March but he persevered with his one track plan and lost the league to which is probably the most mediocre Septic team in decades. As for his spending, i wouldnt send smith to the shops to get the messages as hed probably fuck that up too.
  20. I dont see the 5 point gap as all that much of a problem as we still have two games left against the mhanks who have been inferior to us so far in the last games we played them. But the lack of consistency in our form and our team selections has made it difficult to look ahead without being nervous so we really should be taking it one game at a time.
  21. Sorry but there is no place in football for poitical guestures. you let one do it and before you know it everyone wants a go. and its against uefa rules anyway.
  22. The fact that were mentioning these names at all speaks volumes about our realistic ambitions for the club. They are probably as good as we would get at the moment.
  23. dream on mate!
  24. openly admitting that you played for a draw in the uefa cup final. getting knocked out of the cl qualifiers by yet another pub team. buying players who are not good enough/ cant get a game and then trying to sell your top stars to compensate for your bad judgement in the transfer market. doing all of the above in the space of six months. i consider all of these sackable offences.
  25. who would you replace him with? Given the fact that we have no cash to tempt anyone away from a club the person in question would have to be either already at the club or out of work at the moment. When you whittle it down that way it doesnt leave much. I personally believe that McCoist would get the nod with durrant as his No2. I know its the obvious choice but i dont think McCoist is going to be everyones cup of tea. so if he isnt who would you have?
