  1. Dont think he was out that long mate and im 99.9% sure he played in the last game against Aberdeen. i will say that i wasnt overly impressed by him last season but will concede that he certainly looked the part this time round.
  2. When i purchased my season book last term calscot i expected to see a game of football but i didnt. I found myself and the others around me for that matter bored rigid by halftime wondering why the hell we had bothered to go to Ibrox in the first place. teams well below us in the league passed the ball better and were generally better organised than we were and as the season Smith was found out by all and sundry. Smith dragged us through the gutter last season. his team selections were poor and his tactics second rate. That is why we were second the league, and we may as well have been sixth given the result against Kuanas, in fact we could have been spared the embarrassment of that defeat if we did finish sixth. given the general standard of our gameplay i wouldnt have argued the toss if we did. Theres a lot to be said about the manner in which you win. and forgive me if i like to see Rangers boss the odd team here and there. Is that too much to ask? We could have played more attractive football last season but our manager opted not to and he made no appologies about his playing style. and when it came to actually trying to play football at the business end of the season he didnt know how to. As for the two cups, diddy cup A were you play three games to win it and diddy cup B were you play four games to win it, hardly cover you in glamour do they? hell you dont even get into Europe if you win the Scottish cup now! and dont use excuses like the fixture pileup and "them getting decisions off the ref"! makes you sound like a mhank! with the lead we had we should have wrapped the league up by April. for the general standard of football last season and given the money smith spent i have to say it was the worst i have ever witnessed. But if your happy with rangers and walter smith last term then good luck to you. you obviously easily pleased.
  3. We have two problems. One is the chairman and the other is the the manager. The current mess has been caused by the managers wayward spending and poor choice of purchases. we now find ourselves in the position where we have a shitload of mediocre players that no one wants. But we are being sidetracked by the murray issue which is confusing the situation even more. As for who replaces him, murray is and has been selective to who takes over. you cant fault for that, infact i applaud him for it.
  4. I was talking about last season. I remember watching the final game against the sheep and thinking that not one of Smiths buys had it in them to take us up a level. A thought that was enforced after the performances against Kuanus. Im not saying that seen the kuanus result comming but with a bit of hindsight i wasnt all that suprised. The team that lost the league was all most identicle to the one that flopped in the CL qualifiers.
  5. And so the new season begins. with an estimated 25 mill in the bank due to our run in Europe our debt was apparently very comfortable to manage and suddenly the outlook for the average bear was starting to look a lot brighter after six years of walking around with what felt like a 14 pound bag of potatoes on our backs! so walter you have some cash to spend. we can all see that we need some defensive cover to partner Cuellar and a decent midfielder (with Davis being the obvious choice there). But you go out and buy a bag of magic beans and produce three strikers! and to top that lot you keep CHRIST!ian Dailly. Enter Kuanus for the CL qualifiers who are by our standards a Sunday league Pub outfit. As average as the players you purchased the season before are walter, you really should have steam rolled right over the top of them but you opted to play the uber defensive card again but this time the opposition had cottoned on to your master game plan and turned you over. Then to top it all off, the supposedly injured Carlos Cuellar is sold off for a massive profit after endearing himself to the fans and the club! Cue panic spending spree to appease the fans. Suddenly our budget doesnt matter anymore and players are comming in from all angles. So many in fact that you dont have enough bloodly lockers in the dressing room for them! But three of your buys have really bamboozled we the paying customer. Edu and Valicka cost a kick on the arse off 4 million quid and have yet to play 90 minutes between them. Why the hell did we purchase them? As for the real jewel in the crown kyle Lafferty, im afraid we have yet to see anything that even suggests that this boy is actually a footballer but this could very well be that you insist that he doesnt get to play in his true position. He has underacheived but that could be said of many in the squad. Charlie Adam, a player who thrived on you arrival has steadily gone backwards where his career is concerned. That though i could say of a few others. Whittaker, Beadsley and McCulloch all looked decent prospects when the first arrived but a season on... well its the same script as Adam. I cant quite put my finger on it Walter but there seems to be quite a few players whos careers have taken a nosdive in the last twelve months and i dont think its a coincidence. Then theres our youths. Aaron was brought in on loan and apparently the boy is a "wonderkid" according to sources in Spain. We did get a glimse of him and he played very well but lets face it, the only reason you brought him on was that there was a bit of concern form his spanish employers that he was wasting his time. now we are being told that our very own wonderboy Fleck will be given a chance after you are critisised for your youth policy. There are two types of action Walter, Proaction and reaction and bad decision makers tend to opt for the latter. just like you. You called it wrong in CL and reacted by splashing the cash. you are critisised for your youth policy and you "announce that you will play one!" Bad leadership bad management and a lot of wrong decision making. If your were a dog you would be running round in cirlces chasing your tail. And its the chairman thats getting it in the neck, not you. Kevin Thomson getting injured could well turn out to be a blessing indisguise. The 4.5 million fee we were getting for him should have paid for laffertys final installment and paid the overdraft. But now we cant pay and people are asking all sorts of questions. And eventually they will get round to your part in all this. Fraid youve been found out mate.
  6. http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1522533,00.html Walter wants to know what gripe we fans have, so heres mine. I served my time as a Rangers supporter under John Greigs tenure as manager so I know crap football when i see it Walter, and given what i had to endure from the stands at Ibrox last season, well I can honestly say it was the most dire football spectacle i have ever witnessed in my life. The uber defensive policy, very difficult to stomach but for long spells effective and as the saying goes, the end justifies the means. With a commanding lead at the top of the table come march we put up with being outplayed and outclassed by everyman and his dog but as we entered the business end of the season the cracks began to appear. grinding out results from week to week had been a common feature and the league cup final was no different. outwitted on the day and very lucky to win the cup thanks to Kris boyd, a player who you tried your damned hardest not to play, opting for a player who didnt even want to play for the club and whos body language told us so every time he pulled on a light blue jersey. But it all went down hill from there. Suddenly your tactics were being slowly found out and teams started to take points from us and the commanding lead started to wither as the weeks rolled past. no one at the club seemed to be taking any notice though as we were starting to gain a bit of momentum in the Uefa cup. Again we grinded out results, playing for draws and hoping for penalties and it worked. But as a paying fan who went to all the Uefa cup games I seen two goals in one game and as for the other games, they were so bad id have rather have went to my work for nintey minutes for nothing! Fair enough Walter you got us to that final but to openly admit that you actually played for a draw in that final is a slap in the face to every Rangers Supporter who travelled to manchester and that follows the club. it is beggars belief that any football manager that got to a European final and didnt play to win it. And with that up the pan we went back to league business. But our team had been slowly imploding through the months and our worst fears were finally realised when we handed the title to the other side on a plate on the last days of the season. Truth is walter i seen it comming a long time before it actually happened. The players you chose week in week out werent up to the job. McCulloch, Adam, Daily, Darcheville, Whitaker, Cousin and ill include Thompson too, just werent up to the job but were the mainstays of the team. The problem was walter when it actually came to playing football and standing up to be counted they werent up to the job. But you enjoyed the plaudits of having a succesful season Walter. Getting to a major European final was a real feather in your cap to some but to us cash paying customers the reality was that we were absolutely dreadful. My wife quipped to me a week before the Uefa cup final that she would by me the DVD if we won all four competitions to which i replied "dont bother id only throw it in the bin". Why? Well the quality and class of football was well below the standard that i expect from Rangers Football Club. We were a laughing stock in Europe due to the way you set your stall out and as for the way you capitulated the league, a damned disgrace. i can honestly i didnt enjoy one game i witnessed at Ibrox last season. None at all. even if we won. Quite a damning stament when you consider I only missed two games. but i did hope that the new season would be better...... part two to follow.
  7. As i said before ill believe that boyd is leaving when i see him in a rummy/other top. the media talk shite.
  8. Murrays biggest problem is his loyalty to his managers. its his biggest failing. he should have stepped in and stopped Advocaat spending 12 mill on flo which was effectively the straw that broke the camels back first time round and He should have been questioning Walter Smith judgements in the tansfer market even before the CL qf this season. The alarm bells rang for every man and his dog when we signed three strikers and gave Dailly a new contract so what the hell was our chairman thinking? i appreciate theres alot more going on other than Walters transfer budget but i maintain that if he had handled his money and his aquisitions a lot better we wouldnt be in the shit were in now. And it would go a long way to appease the fans if walter had the balls to admit that.
  9. But they are effectively competing for third place. If they were up there competing at the top then it would be a fair shout.

    Fleck

Man Utd tried to sign Fleck when he was old enough to sign a contract but he chose us due to the fact that his uncle played for Rangers and that Durrant was apparently close to the boy throughout his upbringing. Fleck by all accounts has the potential to be the next wayne rooney and was described by ex celtic player Davie Provan as the best naturally talented 16 year old hed ever seen. This boy if handled correctly and by the right people could earn the club mega bucks in years to come. you are talking tens of millions here. Mr Bain will be well out of his depth with this lad. Hell probably sell him for a bag of magic beans and two tickets to the cinema.
  11. I blame smith and it would have been the first thing i did after the CL debacle. Infact I would have sacked him on the spot afer it.
  12. We have to be careful and dont do a hearts and end up with a Romanov. I think Murray for all his failings will make sure that doesnt happen. our main problem is walter Smith. his knee jerk reaction with fleck being included in future games just goes to show how bad a manager he is. That is who we should be targeting.
  13. its a non starter. They havent even heard of boyd.

    Fleck

man ure are sniffing around. Arsenal are chasing danny wilson. If the offer is big enough....
  15. What will murray do if we dont move anybody on in the transfer window? There a distinct possibility that it could happen.
  16. You hit the nail on the head there mate. Stand up and take responsibility for a change instead of making excuses for the mess were in. And until either Bain, Murray or smith does so our problems wont go away.
  17. SIR DAVID MURRAY insisted last night heââ?¬â?¢s the ONLY man to take Rangers forward as furious fans called for his immediate resignation. In a day of yet more Ibrox drama, disgruntled Gers fans launched a stinging attack on Murray and his board ââ?¬â? demanding an urgent change of direction at the crisis-torn club. Backed by the board of the Rangers Supporters Trust, the ââ?¬Ë?We Deserve Betterââ?¬â?¢ campaign comes in the wake of a month of turmoil at Ibrox. Murray has admitted Gers will be forced to sell at least one star player this month in a bid to balance the books. And at Tuesday nightââ?¬â?¢s Scottish Cup clash against St Johnstone in Perth, fans unfurled a banner reading ââ?¬Ë?David Murray Must Goââ?¬â?¢. But last night the embattled chairman blasted back ââ?¬â? insisting heââ?¬â?¢s the clubââ?¬â?¢s best bet. Murray, seeking a buyer for the club, said: ââ?¬Å?At the moment Iââ?¬â?¢m BY FAR the best bet for Rangers. ââ?¬Å?I am not going to sit here and apologise for running Rangers as a tight ship in a climate like this, it HAS to be done. People say I am trying to keep the debt down to get a good selling price ââ?¬â? that is NOT the case. ââ?¬Å?Iââ?¬â?¢m totally committed to this club and whilst this is a difficult period we CAN get through it. ââ?¬Å?I wouldnââ?¬â?¢t be difficult to deal with if I felt the offer was right for Rangers but what would any prospective buyer think looking at the situation right now. ââ?¬Å?It is hardly going to entice anyone in is it?ââ?¬Â No david it wont entice anyone. you sold our best players in the past and replaced them with mediocrity. you let our manager squander 7 million in the summer on 3 strikers when we needed to strengthen else where in the team. you then went on a panic buying spree after our manager managed to get knocked out of the CL by yet another pub team. That is why we find ourselves in the mess we are in now. Gross mismangement of the highest order. If i had done my job as badly as Walter Smith has done his id be sacked. If you have one major failing Mr murray it is your undying loyalty to Walter Smith. you really should have learned your lesson after Advocaat but you didnt. Sack smith and you may have a chance in the immediate future.
  18. dont worry, walters bringing back Adam and McCulloch for the fixture! but i have no idea which one of them will be in goal!
  19. Ill be interested to see the reply to this. No doubt we who back this campaign will be branded in the usual "your not true supporters" way. waiting till 3 oclock before entering the stadium on Saturday would be my way of letting them know im not happy. Its a peaceful protest and would get the point across to those concerned. If you had enough people behind the idea...

    Fleck

I know we only seen him for 5 minutes last night but it was more than enough for all to see that the boy has exceptional talent. Only Walter Smith knows why he hasnt been given a run in the first team so far but im going to predict that we will be seeing a lot more of him from now to the end of the season. Not to enhance the team though. To put him in the shop window. Murray and bain will have the dollars already counted in the bank come the end of the season where this kid is concerned. That is what they do best. As soon as anyone in our Ranks shows the slightest bit of talent they are sold off to the highest bidder and fleck will be no different. We have been questioning the level of ambition at our club for quite some time now but the truth at the end of the day is that we have none. Our best players are off the minute someone comes sniffing around and are replaced by mediocrity everytime. McCulloch, Broadfoot, whittaker, Darcheville, Beadsley, Dailly and the real jewel in the crown, Lafferty. So dont get too attached to Young Fleck. My guess is that he could even be off this transfer window. And for a quarter of his true worth to boot.
  21. the problem is that it could set a precident for all the other big guns. one thing is for sure, somewhere down the line the arse is going to fall out of top level football on a major scale. this could be the straw that breaks the camels back.
  22. davis enjoys a lot of favour but for me the guy has slipped into the confort zone again. he is a player that i like but far to often he contributes little to the cause and could do with a spell on the bench. our main problem last night was the midfield. They were all dire and outclassed by a first division outfit. but being outlclassed by all and sundry is something we have all become accustomed to under walter smith. HE is our biggest problem. And i would like him leave as soon as possible.
  23. dont want to point out the obvious but murray wants to go! so there is little point of campaigning to get rid of him. Should have a smith one instead. How the hell he could keep the starting eleven on the park fro 70 minutes was beyond me. the midfield was atrocious with davis and mendes fighting it out for worst player on the park. only plus was seeing fleck for 5 minutes. i seen more flair and guile in that time from the lad than i did fro th entire 90 minutes from the whole team put together. Bloody joke he hasnt featured so far this season.
  24. spew keevins said tonight on snyde that he spoke to boyds agent and McLeish personally and both denied claims the deal was back on. ill believe it when boyd is in a brummy top. Untill then i wont be paying any attention to the crap in the media.
  25. just watched Rangers tv and the deal certainly wasnt done and dusted. we live in hope.
