There have been very few games ive enjoyed this season frankie. half the time we end up chatting amoungst ourselves paying scant attentention to the game due to he fact that the quality on the park is pretty dross. not just my opinion but of those around me as well. the topic is discussed often at games. We are all watching with trepidation at the moment were our future lies with the finances and all thats going on behind the scenes but maybe we should be watching the stands as well. There are plenty of empty seats on show even though were winning. I take my kid who is seven and the highlight of the game is half time when he gets a hot dog. after that he wants to go home. Why? well what is in front of him isnt really worth watching. Hes told me that himself. And if the kids dont want to watch Rangers well have no support in the future. That is a real concern for me.

stop ranting on about smith not signing players in two years. he signed sixteen bloody players since he came back so its hardly bloddy hardship is it. Smiths brand of football isnt worth watching to be honest and he makes no appologies for it. And if its not worth watching its not worth playing. there seems to be this myth that you cant play well and win it eiher has to be one of the other. Well l beg to differ and would like a manager who thinks likewise. It isnt a crime attempt it.

couldnt agree more with everything you said totti. Smith is never going to take us any further than he has up till now. Great servant to the club but its the future that matters, not memories. we need new ideas in the managerial seat if the club is to go forward on the park.

dont even mention lafferty in the same breath as boyd untill he can match his scoring record. Boyd has proved himself, lafferty has done hew haw in comparison.
-
lafferty didnt win us the league with his goal. Rangers won the league over the course of the season, not in one game. and where the hell was he when boyd was injured and he couldnt score in a brothel with a 50 quid note tied to his dick. cant remember anyone singing his praises or defending him up to sunday. Im with gazza on this one, lafferty has been piss poor and a monumental waste of money given our resourses and the amount of chances hes been given. Id much rather have seen Fleck or wylde in the side given his performances. from what ive seen of them both they are a far better bet than our underachieving Irishman.
-
best game hes played in a Rangers shirt.
-
when mobray talked about turning celtic into barcelona i didnt think he model them on the under 10s team!
-
but apparently lafferty has so much more in his locker than boyd, so im told anyway. for the record it was his position at burnley as quoted by walter smith himself so he wasnt playing out of position. Yet in the last two seasons he has been one of the biggest under achievers in the history of Rangers. But the next time he comes on in the last ten minutes in a cup final and turns the game our way like boyd did against Dundee utd and saves his managers arse or scores a couple of goals to help Rangers win the scottish cup in the same season ill give him high praise indeed, just like i did when boyd actually produced the goods when it mattered.
-
suprised smith didnt play him out there given the amount of players who were played out of position on a regular basis. oh sorry i forgot. walter is above critisism.
-
Cant agree more mate. 5 goals in a whole season and hes better than boyd has ever been at Ibrox. god help us if boyd leaves and were left with lafferty. well be 20+ goals down a season.

Rangers and Celtic to make history with Boston friendly clash?
gisabeer replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
same thought here. well be outnumbered 10-1 -
Kicking them while they are down Walter. I like it:devil:

was talking to a few of the mhanks in work who go to the games and they said that they will be boycotting all the games apart from the old firm game so i wont be expecting us to get any extra tickets.

hell be getting arrested !

Smith was at one time a better prospect than hutton and was on the verge of a scotland call up before injury blighted his career. I thought that given the time effort and money that was utilised getting him back to match fitness someone would have had the savvy to actually give him a chance to realise the potential he showed earlier in his career. Infact it is beggars belief that he didnt get the oppertunity. i would certainly take a chance on him.
-
i like stevie smith and feel he should have been given a run of games to prove his worth. He turned a difficult game against hearts in our favour and got dropped like a stone. Whoever gets this boy next will be winning a watch.

I reckon we would be better playing our players in their proper positions. Davis is a standout most games when he plays in the central midfield but is constantly shunted out to the right. Naismith has played as a striker a winger and astonishingly a central midfielder. lafferty has for the most part played as a winger even though a man with no eyes can see he is useless in that position. It was quite telling last night that our biggest threat up front was bougherra before Utd got a man sent off. i wont be suprised if we win the league with 5 draws the way we are setting up and playing just now. Poor management im afraid. well be going over the finishing line on our hands and knees, the way weve been playing for most of the season.

and straight afterwards "he cannie even fuckin write!"

bugger all the facts and figures, i ll go on what i see in front of my own eyes and it aint pretty. Bar the month of december when we actually tried to and managed to play some decent football we have been bloody terrible. Thank god for tony mobray, hes done more for Rangers this season than walter Smith could ever dream of. Our manager is no master tactitian, hes mediocre in my eyes. Good fortune and circumstance are two words i associate with Smith. He has been frightfully lucky again this season im afraid. Europe is a must for Rangers, wether it be in the CL or the Europe league and we need a manger who is going to make an impact or at least try to whatever competition we are in. its no good just being happy to be there. That seems to be smiths take on it. Personally im sick of the embarrassment in europe under Smith and my stomach churns at the thought of another Kunaus or Unirea. Please go walter, you are no messiah. It wont be a one horse race next season and your lame and duff tactics will be found out next time round. ps. take lafferty, thompson whittaker and naismith with too. Everyone of them was severely lacking in the champions league and will only drag us down as they are not up to the required standard.
-
good news. its the works golf day out on the sunday so i wont have to drop out.
-
i thought the same too. papic got caught with his pants down. but there was a a catologue of errors leading up to the goal, you could see it comming.
-
right now we are absolutely terrible. no one is performing to an acceptable level and smith has resorted to playing backs to the wall football again. Hamilton showed us up on Saturday (not for the first time this season) and i dont expect it to get any better tonight against the sheep. find yer balls walter and take the game to the opposition. Stop bricking it and show everyone whos the boss.
-
Treble chance, but just how will this Rangers team be remembered?
gisabeer replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
we have far more to thank tony mobray for than we do walter smith. we havent been overly great this season but december onwards has seen an improvement in our general standard of play the humiliation in europe will be with me for along time though. smith may take the plaudits at domestic level but when it comes to europe he has been found to be seriously out of his depth. i wont be remembering this season in any great fondness im afraid. -
this is hard evidence that god is infact a proddy! 4-4! Walter must be having aright good snigger down his cardigan sleeve at his east end counterpart. And an ex gers man sinking them too. sweet:thup:
