  1. It didn't start last season. It was like this before he left the club first time around. You only need to consider the decline of the club from 1996 to 1998 to know all that needs to be known about Walter Smith. Thet truth is that without three or four senior players virtually running the first team squad for about five years, Walter Smith would have been a laughing stock long before now. As for what can we do - just do what supporters can do. Say it loud and say it clear that he has to go. The difference between success or failure will only be the number who say it.
  2. That just confirms how deeply ingrained is the anti-rangers sentiment among those running the game in this country. If we think this bias starts and ends at certain referees, we haven't begun to understand the depth of the hatred towards Rangers and its fans. Any cheap opportunity to diminish Rangers is grasped like a drowning man clutches his straw. I've just sent an email to the SPL asking them to remove that pointed and pathetic statement. I hope every other Rangers fan will do likewise. desperate.
  3. When Rangers were respected by everyone. It was actually quite similar in the early 1960's after Rangers reached the first ECWC final against Fiorentina. Rangers were widely regarded as an matter of national pride by supporters of all but one club. It's almost unbelievable now but that's how it was.
  4. I find it hard to believe anyone can take a serious look at the players Smith has bought, how he has used them (or not), his negative tactics (or lack of), his negative demeanour, his lack of motivational impact on the club ........ and say this is what we want for Rangers, that they would like more of the same. It's so unbelievable you'd have to conclude it's just being contrary for the sake of it. The support he's had on this thread amounts to an attempt at excusing some of his worst points. Nothing whatsoever has been said that actually commends him or justifies another year of the dross we've seen from a Rangers team so many times this season.
  5. I certainly remember the team of the late fifties and early sixties and I'm here to tell you that was some team. Dick Advocaat had a decent enough team for a couple of years but he didn't have Jimmy Baxter and he didn't have Willie Henderson and he didn't have Jimmy Millar and he didn't have Ralphie Brand. He certainly didn't have Eric Caldow or Bobby Shearer. Oh, and he didn't have John Greig either. I never saw the etam that Norris refers to but I do believe they were very special too. The idea that Rangers started when David Murray arrived is popular enough but total bollocks of course. That was actually when the club started going backwards. Lately this has been transformed into freefall but plenty will still queue up for their new season tickets to ensure Murray remains fully vindicated. Martinez? Best idea I've heard in a long time..... but pointless un;less Murray goes first.
  6. Ahem, Rangers were great playing football way before Advocaat was even born.
  7. Contrived nonsense. The football played under Souness was some of the best I've ever seen and I started when Scot Symon was settling in. Explains some of your views on the current regime, which are equally bizarre.
  8. Moi, cynical? Whatever can you mean? I'm delighted at what Aaron has shown in two brief outings, I just wish Walter Numpty had as much ability and enthusiasm as the people he either condemns to the bench or fields in all the wrong positions. BTW I think your midfield idea is pretty sensible.
  9. Aaron Niguez showed more last night than the rest of the team put together and it's important to remember that he only got on the park last night by default. How many more like him have slipped through our net over the years Smith has been manager? How can this young man have been overlooked when so many of those playing every week have shown so little? I actually know the answer to that question. The overbearing incompetence of Walter Smith.
  10. Rangers have worn socks of many different colours and designs over the years but black socks with red tops are the only thing I care to see. We are a club rightly proud of our traditions (well everyone except Murray and Bain it seems) and we wouldn't change the colour of our shirt because it appealed to the preferences of particular supporters. So why should we consider changing the colour of our socks? Our traditions keep us united and keep us strong. Hello, Hello, we are the Billy Boys.......... what?
  11. Yes I saw that, said he could "run all night", which apparently is code for "let's mark the rare event him scoring by making him MOTM". However, two goals against a Div 3 team who haven't played in weeks after nine blanks in a row hasn't changed my opinion of him. And you'll not be surprised to hear that I thought Judas Badgethumper turned in another fairly pathetic display this evening. Pity he wasn't the only one.
  12. Overly generous ratings across the board for one of our worst displays of the season. How anyone gets 8 is beyond me.
  13. Nope, it would be a bad decision. Love the guy to pieces and worshipped the ground he scored goals on but in my opinion he is not the manager we need.
  14. Struth Park. What does that sound like? Fantastic, it sounds like a return to Rangers values. I'd still retain the Murray name however - I'd have it embedded into the urinals.
  15. Well done Frankie for providing a platform for supporting this important event. Well done also to those gersnet members who are making the effort to attend. I can't be there but will definitely make a donation by other means.
  16. Jesus, it was a parody. What's your plan then?
  17. And those inconsistencies represent something far more sinister an immoral than anything sung by Rangers fans.
  18. At this time of the evening, I imagine Spiers will be in a park toilet somewhere, servicing his favourite rent boy. He'll be fizzing later.
  19. So, here's the proposition........ Do what you do until and unless the willingly offended decide to call it sectarian. Then change what you do to avoid causing further 'offence', until they then decide that what you are now doing is also causing them offence and that too is labelled sectarian. At that point you should move along and find something else to say or do but hold on, they've now decided that also causes them offence and is now to be deemed sectarian too. Is there no boundary to their offendedness? Wait a minute .... now you're starting to understand that this isn't all it seems. It's not really about offence at all, it's about using the pretence of offence to manipulate and pressurise the enemy into an unrecognisable shadow of himself. It's about winning, beating you into the ground. So what are you going to do about your newfound awareness? Very little it appears. Every time you changed your behaviour, it was taken as tacit evidence of your previous guilt. You now have form. You have a label and it's not a good one. Your protestations are tarnished before they leave your mouth. You ARE sectarian and, as such, everything you now say must by definition be sectarian. And it's even worse than that. Some of your own kind are so shamed by their new label and so anxious to disguise and disassociate themselves from you that they are transforming themselves into ............. well, anything really, whatever isn't what they used to be. Jesus, even the willingly offended didn't expect that kind of dividend, that the destruction of the hun should turn into the self-destruction of the hun. So let's go back to the beginning. How did it start again? Were you really being sectarian? Tell you what, let's play them at their own game, let's get even and call them sectarian too. They say the same things, chant the same abuse. Only no one has any intention of listening to because YOU are a proven bigot - confirmed sectarian. You no longer have a voice at all. The more you protest, the more your guilt is confirmed and the more credence is given to those you offended. You're on a roll here boy. Nowhere left to hide, no one left to listen to you .......... unless you adopt the confessional and join those expunging their own guilt by condemning people like you. You have been FUKKED.
  20. I like an articulate debate, not playing mongo in a china shop with someone who repeatedly contradicts himself and who thinks he has a point to make but can't quite turn suppressed aggression into meaningful expression. Did you have anything useful to add or are you simply having a bad day? Because if you're going to throw down gauntlets like that around here you'd better be able to pull together some kind of defence other than hurling insults.
  21. I'm not your friend, let's be clear about that. You are everything I detest about the nouveau Rangers fan. Crass, over-opinionated, foul-mouthed, inconsistent, instantly apologetic and ludicrously beligerent. Criticising people who fit your description a whole lot less than you do yourself. You query whether I'm a Rangers fan, ask if I'm a tim hater, and suggest I'm an arsehole trying to blacken our name. Exactly who is it you think you are here? You might want to wind in that neck of yours and exchange listening for talking until you have something worthwhile to say. I've followed this club longer than most and dedicated a great deal of my life to it's interests. One thing the years have tought me is to decide for myself what it is I want my club to be, not to listen to populist nonsense from people like you. I don't really want to exchange further debate with you.
  22. They probably can and very well may stop us winning the league again this year but I'm damned if they're going to get away with wholesale cheating without some resistance. The only problem on Sunday was that we didn't sing it loud enough or long enough. The SPL and their pocket monkeys need to be challenged on this. If only those running Rangers would tell them to relocate their bikes and pedal, we wouldn't have a fraction of this nonsense. Feenyans to the left, feenyans to the right, King Billy in the middle and......
  23. What's blatant around here is yet another bear rushing to apologise when there's nothing to apologise for. Were you really so offended or just fearful that someone somewhere might possibly claim to have been? If genuinely offended, what did you think of the offerings from the majority in the same stadium and why didn't you mention them in your post? Before you wring your hands right off, just remember that one tague's contrived offence is another man's freedom of speech.
  24. I hate the way some of us indulge in this self-condemnation shite every time the media play their bloody sectarian card. The extent to which some of us swallow this nonsense and play the hand wringing apologist is nauseating. Self-loathers make my blood boil. I wish every one of them would just fukk off and take their stupid sensibilities with them.
  25. Very well put Craig. Everyone who has ever slagged the fella should read that post.
