Hunt him down like the dog he is.... and the guy who voted for him.

That announcement will be the oldest news in town. The Lurgan Bigot has the job already.
-
Yes, you've got a solid point there.

Good luck finding one. Remember these people almost all go to segregated propaganda school from a very early age.

I'm just making the point that, depending on the exact timing, property prices took some hefty tumbles if the seller needed to sell. I know of one deal where this was entirely due to the sudden removal of available finance and nothing at all to do with the condition of the sellers business. In November 2008 I was financing a new industrial unit, had built the bloody thing, agreed the financing package and suddenly found HBOS pulling the rug out from under me without any warning whatsoever. Luckily, Barclays managed to steer a more controlled path and another deal was struck. If the numbers had been different I'd have been stuffed. Without more info, it doesn't necessarily mean Murray was on his uppers, and the original £90m value could also have been building in price growth that simply didn't materialise. Expectations come, expectations go.

Do you mean less than it was valued at when sold ... or less that what it had previously been valued at?
-
I'm not surpised in the least. It's the view I've always promoted. It always struck me that the weasel words about selling were at best oblique and usually coincidental with some other issue. Personally I've never been convinced he wanted to sell. In fact, I won't be surprised to see him remain the largest single shareholder for the next few years - the very least he'll want is sufficient shareholding to be able to block any fundamental change to the Articles. It's an opinion.

Good thinking Calscot. I like the way you're prepared to develop your thinking by doing the work to set it out on 'paper'. A lot of what you're writing does need examination. Let's face it, there eff all else to do until there's some action.
-
Murray would obviously be having some difficulty financing deals at the moment, which would limit his access. He also has something of a tarnished reputation in the local business community. However, he still has considerable wealth outwith MIH and I doubt if he'd be above using his shareholding in Rangers to leverage himself into a property deal that could well have an extensive list of participants. That would suit Murray, it would suit Ellis, it would probably suit Ellis's partners, and it might or might not suit the banks. This could be complete simplistic bunkum of course. But it also might not be too far from the truth.

I would have thought that if a property deal is still on the cards for the surrounding area, it will involve both Murray and Ellis, not one or the other.

Ally McCoist failed to score against celtic in more games than Boyd. Another season, it could all change. Who knows?

Amazing to think people feel Beasley contributed more than Lafferty. Mind you, that's vox pop for you, the same people will also vote Labour next May.

Here's the thing though - NOT ONCE have I ever championed the idea that he will be an ego lead, whatever that is. Neither have I ever put forward the idea that he will allow the club to go to wrack and ruin. Finally, why would he be interested in raising his name in Scotland? You need to explain these inventions and why you are, apparently, attributing them to me. Your big assumption here is that he will make his money (and surely that must be an objective somewhere along the line) from the development of the football club. This will hopefully be the case but, as far as I can see, there is no actual basis for the assumption. The football club may simply be leverage. BTW, before you invent some more, I'm in no way saying that I believe Ellis (or anyone else) will pursue one strategy or another, simply debating the envelope of possibilities.

Personally, like you, I think he'll struggle big time. He should stay at Ibrox because I think he's already the best he can be. Whether he's as good as we need is up for debate but his goals record suggests he probably is.

Yes but Calscot is describing things in an ideal world. Reality involves people and that tends always to bring a degree of perversity. There's no doubt in my mind that the current political situation will have slowed down or temporarily halted any takeover deal, particularly if property is involved. The fluid tax situation, focussed on a budget statement on 22nd June is in everyone's mind right now and is affecting all kinds of deals. Some are pushing forward top beat the deadline, others are using the deadline to put pressure on the seller. June 22nd, that's the real deadline here.

At the time, the one he scored against them at Ibrox seemed quite meaningful. But you've definitely got a point.

Ah but have you stopped to consider it might only be the speculation about Danny Shittu that causes us to with the league the following season. It's a strange and superstitious universe out there. OCD Loyal

I hear Gattuso's still keen though.

C'mon guys, gimme a break :D

Really good post Calscot. It brings some sensible perspective that I've probably been allowing concerns to obscure. Thanks.

Good man. Get Tonel out of the way early on.
-
I'm sorry but you, my friend, have a problem and I don't want to get involved in it.

I'd go further and say that unless someone like Ellis (ie not emotionally a Rangers man/ a Jack Walker type) does make money, it will inevitably turn out to be a bad deal for the club. And unless the benefits are both mutual and sustainable, it will be a short-lived arrangement without progress for either party. but if the balance is skewed too far in favour of profit then the club will essentially be exploited rather than developed. That's not a comment on Ellis, it's a fact of life.
-
Keep it to yourself pal, I'm not interested.

OK, I read it when you frst posted it. What is it you want me to say?
