  1. There are so many people around here with an inside track that it's a wonder there's even standing room around Ellis's mobile phone. Everyone huddled round the same rumour, each claiming their share of nothing.
  2. Jeez, what an absolute crock from start to finish. There must be quite a few unsold season tickets it seems. The name Ellis is going to be hard to shake off for some people.
  3. Too much explanation. I prefer to just wait and see.
  4. I know who I'm backing and would quote a post on FF to back it up (if only I hadn't collected so many life bans) but in time-honoured fashion I offer only vague inference and couldn't possibly reveal my source, or his phone number.
  5. Gotcha, cheers.
  6. I want to know what Gazza didn't in the end want to share.
  7. I am, I admit it. I share much in common with Big Dave. Except of course his money, his vinyard and his disdain for Rangers. Anyway, if it was good enough for Tory Gillick ........
  8. Best shirt in ages.
  9. Quelle surprise!
  10. What's wrong with waiting until there actually is an announcement and confirmation that an acquisition has been made? Why all the rush for self-vindication? Surely this is about Rangers, not whether some supporters ego gets a massage by being right in a 50-50 contest. Oh and be careful what you wish for. No one has yet made any substantive statement about their intentions for Rangers, whether or not they actually acquire the club - so what exactly is being celebrated here? Whatever happens, there will be other days to follow that are much more important than some dude we know nothing about cracking champers on a deal we equally know nothing about.
  11. I seriously doubt if he was ever up to the task. Slightly more plausible than the RST's pretender from Florida .... but only slightly.
  12. You could almost be forgiven for thinking Mr Cannonball is the one with access to certain mobile numbers because the longer this goes on the more believable his predictions seem to become. I keep wondering if there's someone lurking in the shadows of all this because it's very hard to believe any of the named players will ever end up buying Rangers from Murray. If there are no hidden bidders already moving in the undergrowth then I've no doubt we'll see Murray rise from his Ibrox ashes and Muir disappear whence he came. God help us.
  13. It's never nice to see someone working their ticket before they've even arrived. What a crock from start to finish.
  14. FH, that bunch of wankers wouldn't know 'everything's fine' if it kicked their arses and introduced itself. Novo at 31 isn't exactly on the scrapheap yet and could have continued to do a job for Rangers for a couple of years yet - as well as providing some heart in the dressing room.
  15. Paul Le Guen has admitted he made a mistake in stripping Barry Ferguson of the Rangers captaincy. The pair clashed repeatedly during the Frenchman's disastrous reign as boss at Ibrox and tensions came to a head on New Year's Day, 2007. Before the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Motherwell at Fir Park the following day, Ferguson was sent home after Le Guen had relieved him of his duties as skipper. Days later, Le Guen left the Govan club and almost four years after he first arrived in Glasgow, the former Lyon coach has told of his regret and - in a BBC Radio Scotland interview to be broadcast on Saturday - when asked if stripping Ferguson of the armband was the right thing to do, Le Guen said: "No, no, it was not right." He added: "It was an impasse. When I took this decision I knew it would be difficult for me. "He was my best player, but it was difficult for me to get the same relationship because of some factors. "We are so different, but he was my best player. "I was fed up with some behaviour, he knew he was the natural captain of Rangers, I knew that. "But at that moment I was fed up perhaps."
  16. Pete, you might want a supporter-led solution but at the same time you must know that it can never actually happen. The gross indulgence and arrogance of the Murray years created a type of complacency among many supporters that was virtually absent in previous years. You see it in the subway disloyal, the shop-a-fan brigade, the manic support-in-the-face-of-all-evidence for Murray, the invention of the "Rangers Way", the sheer gullibility about issues like TBB, etc, etc. Out of that rose self-serving groups like those running the RST, Follow Follow, and others. Division has been the rule, not unity, and the idea that the Rangers support can somehow act in pursuit of a common objective is pushing fantasy to the limits. I also wish it would happen but the truth is the Rangers support has changed out of all recognition these last 20 years and there's no longer enough backbone to challenge anyone. Activists do there talking anonymously on internet forums like this. There is no collective voice among Rangers fans and there will be no leadership to the harness supporters' will. I saw the best of Rangers before Murray arrived and I'm privileged that I had that opportunity. I now believe there's no hope of seeing such days again unless we now sink so low that the poison in the stands chooses to find another hobby to follow and we can start again. I blame Murray but I also blame the fans who make it impossible to deliver what you are looking for - we can't avoid the truth in the mirror in all this.
  17. Hmmmm ..... it's always painful to see another wasted education.
  18. And when we don't the same people will be the first to whine and turn their backs.
  19. It's already been a long, long, hard journey to get here. This didn't happen overnight and you know what ..... for most of that time the vast majority of Rangers fans insisted nothing was wrong. And that is one of the main reasons we find ourselves where we are today. If even a fraction of those expressing such dissatisfaction now hadn't been blinded by denial when it really mattered, they might not appear so ridiculous today.
  20. We should have signed him for another season. Another sad farewell to a fond friend. Shit but these are not good times. Buena suerte Nacho.
  21. I desperately hope there's some Rangers people of substance behind Ellis, otherwise I'd really fear for us. Who'd have imagined thirty years ago that Rangers could ever be in this situation.
  22. Time......? How long is it since the bank pretty much said that the club must be sold?
  23. I do sometimes wonder what's holding Mr Ellis back..... apart from having neither the funds nor any fundamental interest in Rangers. Sometimes, in the absence of anything tangible to go on, you just have to judge people on what they don't say or don't do - and it would be forgivable at the moment to see Andrew Ellis as a complete decoy and time waster. He can't put up because his pockets ain't deep enough and he can't shut up because Murray hasn't told him to. Since I first posted on Gersnet I've pretty much had a pessimistic outlook on our prospects as a club. Now it's looking as if the problems are far, far deeper than I ever imagined. Having reached what I thought would be the bottom, we now seem determined to see what's underneath. I get a strong sense of acceptance among many of our support that there will be no early relief from these troubled times. An unsellable club, mired in debt and run by people utterly ill-equipped to solve any of it. What we definitely don't need in the middle of all this is an Andrew Ellis.
  24. Another excellent observation. Something is nagging at me that this is all just way too conveniently scripted ... and I don't just mean this particular statement.
  25. I respect his right to refuse, just as I'm sure he will respect my right to ask. But I'm less concerned about the person who passed him the phone number - "I can't keep a confidence but I'm going to ask you to do just that"? Finally, and this is finally, I've no interest in influencing the opinions of others on here, only furthering my own understanding of this important subject. I'm entirely content if you and everyone else stakes your worldly wealth of the veracity of NL's many posts - I only ask on my own behalf.
