  1. Whittaker - is too frail, and can`t whip in a killer cross. useless in defence, why was he bought? in midfield he is just as bad at wing back. Broadfoot - let's put it this way.... Hibs reject. say nomore. Adam - DEFINETLY the worst Ger ever. Boyd - i'd keep him for when we play against kilmarnock and dundee utd. at least he'd be useful for something. Everytime that ball was punted up there and Boyd done fuck all to try and win it iu wished that we never had sold Cousin. Either sell him to Cardiff or keep him as a sub. thats about his level. Lafferty - bambi on ice!! Burke - he needs to go. Weir - yes, retire. we need a quality younger defender. Ferguson - When is he going to find his level again? for a Rangers captain he sure shys out of pulling his team out of trouble. Get IN: Fleck - unleash Aaron - unleash Novo - upfront / right MOVE: Davis - to centre midfield with Mendes TOTALLY AGREE with you on all these points Gribz.
  2. I remeber after the misery of losing out at the last minute in the league to them, that Walter Smith said he would add "flair" to the squad. I have looked out for that eversince because i happened to say that we needed it before last season and i think i was proved correct given the 'Hammer House of Horror football' Rangers sometimes played. So, it has driven me mad that he still hasn't. The nearest i thought he got to it was the loan signing of Aaron. But that in a way does'nt count because he never plays the wee man. I think he would argue that Pedro Mendes is part of that, but i think he is a good player but not a "flair" player. So, since Rangers do have the funds to shell out £4m for Kyle Lafferty, why couldn't they do that for a genuinly gifted player like a Brazillian or Argentinain youth player. That way we would be guaranteed to at least double the boys transfer fee aswell as see some nice skill for a change.
  3. yeah unbeleivable eh? i still got a good wager cause of the blyth game as the chesterfield game was nul and void.
  4. Yeah thanx. it's one i got from listening to hawksby and jacobs on talksport. It was angus locghran who came away with it(remember him as statto?). Only thing was he warned against extra time as he thought it was likeley to happen but not sure. He's a pure football stat man so anything he comes away with is worth a wee punt.
  5. Blyth Spartans 12/5 and Chesterfield 11/12.
  6. With the current trend of sacking in football management continuing at a vast rate of knots, theres never been a time like this in football which has seen respected managers get the bullet within months of taking a new job. It was most evident when Juande Rmos was courted from the succesful side Seville for Tottenham Hotspur and within months was bulleted, only to be snapped up by Real Madrid. That episode just shows how rediculous the whole situation is in England. Here are some of the other favourites that may be next for the sack... Mark Hughes... has had had no wins in his last 8 games. When you think that he was charged with leading Man City to the champions league through at least a top 4 finish when the Dubai syndicate tookover, something is telling me that the syndicate are getting itchy feet and won't hesitate to pull the trigger if needed. With Man City about to spend an unprecedented amount of cash to further their position, i am feeling that they will be tempted to cannon Hughes and bring in someone else BEFORE xmas. Tony Mowbary... West Brom have spiralled to the bottom of the Premiership and are looking in an unasailable position. Mowbarys determination to try and play free-flowing attacking football is commendable but is the either the work of a genius or a madman. And given their bottom position you have to say its the work of the latter. Another who could go BEFORE xmas. Joe Kinnear...He is a temp anyway, but there is a slight feeling on tyneside that he could go if his indiscipline problems continue. He has already had a fallout with Daily Mail reporters, had a few bouts with match officials and generally acted like a prize plum. Maybe thats the way he trys to show how much he cares for the position. But one things for sure, as soon as Mike Ashleigh finds a buyer for Newcastle, Kinnear is a goner. Gianfranco Zola... Lowly West Ham are finding it hard to settle in with Zola and break into the top half of the table. He has only just taken up the reigns at the Hammers but because of his inexperience some think he'll never do a great job anyway for West Ham. I think he'll get until the end of the season to show what he can do. But the West Ham heirarchy is notoriasly trigger happy when it comes to firing managers. Tony pulis... Stoke have had some brilliant results for a team many think should be in the Championship still. But Pulis' position will depend on wether the chairman believes Pulis can maintain the team above the relegation slots, and the reality that the Premiership for Stoke should only ever be one season and some great experience for a side that are a championship side at best. However, Pulis has got this side playing out their skins and i hope that alone will save his position for now. Gareth Southgate... He has got one thing going for him that most of the others dont. The fact that the 'Boro chairman is extremely loyal to his managers. But that doesnt detract from the fact that Southgate has never really moved on from when he got the job without the proper coaching badges. He now has them but it hasn't helped him move boro up the league and the fans are getting a bit tired of Southgate and his run of poor results. Last week saw them gain a valuable point against Arsenal, but their general inconsistency means that Southgate could get the bullet soon. Gary Megson... Bolton fans were for the most part disapointed with the appointment of Megson because he doesn't have the cv of a manager that moves teams on from lower positions. He has made some shrewd tranfers with the purchase of Johan Elmader from Toulouse for 10m, but they are still in the lower half of the league. So, one more set of bad results could make up the Bolton boards minds up. Arsene Wenger... it may be unthinkable because of his vast experiences with Arsenal, but this has been perhaps his most criticised season yet. If Arsenal don't make an incredible run in the next few months then yet another league championship will go by without a decent Arasenal challenge. That may be just too much to bear for a team that need more finance due to the spanking new stadium the moved into. The big question is though, will Wenger be able to lift his team to challenge for anything in the last part of the season?
  7. St Mirren? They booed him like fuck at the last game v them, but before that they were bigging him up. wanting him to stay. So, they can have him.
  8. one eyed keeper? LMFAO The thought of that alone sends shivers. If Rangers had thought of signing a one eyed keeper i'd have to walk away from Ibrox for good. As it stands he's a midfielder and to be honest that doesn't make it any better. Not that i'm discriminating against the visually impaired, it's just that technically he's crap:brick:
  9. I remember vivedly being really depressed at Rangers having signed what i thought was a man bought on the cheap to try and take us forward. But Leeds obviously underestimated his scoring prowess as it didn't take him long to win the majority of Gers fans over. He was in the end a great transfer, bought for nothing, but done the job of a £5M striker. Gone yersel' wee man!
  10. What about the goalie from Sunderland. he is forever being linked to a transfer to Gers. Would have to be a thirded of nine million though.
  11. Well i thought that was a good wee story personally. I really rate Aaron very highly and i was delighted to see him get TWO assists against Hamilton. So, having played one game with two assists that really does show that the boy is a good prospect indeed. Now he has shown what he can do and has broken the ice at last with the first team i honestly think we'll see the best of this lad now. Good on you wee man. Go show them what you can do.
  12. Well sorry i wasn't here to join in on the debate i started a few days ago. I was suprised to see 7 pages of comments about McGregor and i have to say it has added up to a right juicy subject. I have to say you lot have made this a very interesting topic indeed. There does seem to be a wee conflict but most of you appear to agree that McGregor needs to take a break on the subs bench in order to: 1. Improve his fortunes as a goalie 2. Improve the clubs fortunes. I would go with that(as i said in the OP). I have concluded also that the McGregor saga indicates that a large part of the Rangers support are very concerned about Alan Mcgregor and as a consequence this shows that this really is a noticable problem for the team which should be addressed by the management. Most of the fans appear to agree the club need to put Alexander into the team for a chance. The WAG of his does seem to be another bit of a problem, but what can honestly be done about that? If the fans get on her back, it will only transmit all the rage and aggro down to Alan McGregor and this will in my opinion affect his mental ability on the pitch(which when this happens you normally see massive clangers from the goalie..i.e Borats). I'd like to thank all the contributers to this topic. It was great catching up on it as i have been away working and couldn't access the page. Keep it up guys.
  13. That should've been front page headlines. Best news i've heard all day. Bye Charles!!!
  14. I have never really been a Alan McGregor fan, but his heroics against Celtic in the 1-2 game at Parkhead and the Uefa cup performances won me over. I was dreadfully disapointed that he was injured saving the Scott Mcdonald penalty when he turned his ankle. Now, before those heroics McGregor was a mediocre goalie for the most part. He done the correct things to be a good Gers player, i.e go through the youth ranks, go on loan for a season for first team experince at a lesser club. And to be honest there are times he makes saves that make him look world class. But, i now think the time has come for him to move on. This may upset a few Gers fans as he is a popular player with Rangers fans. but he is now no longer a young player. He is a mid 20-odds goalie who's confidence has been sunk for a while. The mistake he made versus Dundee Utd at Ibrox cost us 2 vital league points. Today he apparantly made a howler(which i've yet to see). And against Kilmarnock at Ibrox he gifted them an opening goal. Don't get me wrong, three mistakes should't cost anyone a career. But i am positive now that there's a few other reasons to go against him. McGregor now believes the hype from last year still applies and as a consequence he stil thinks he is a better player than he really is. This over confidence clashing with his other belief that he thinks he's able to crack the English premiership is costing us dearly. The constant transfer speculation about him joining Spurs amongst other top teams is messing with this mans head. If he hadn't have gotten the ankle injury he may well have got the move i think he wanted and Rangers would have been payed around 5 to 6 million pounds. It didn't work out but McGregor to my mind is still thinking that all the speculation is directed towards where he is going. Well Alan, i'm not so sure that any top side would want you anymore, especially going by the clangers you've made and the current form you've displayed. Another thing that gets on my goat is his idiotic playboy image. The hype from last season appeared to inflate Alan's ego to extraordinary proportions and we saw him buying rediculous flash cars, get stupid tattoos and attempting to be the Scottish Beckham with that girlfriend of his. I realise that this view won't be everyones view and that many will disagree. But were it not for Walter Smiths loyalty to this player, we may well have had an even better goalie between the sticks in Neil Alexander(who is more than equal in technical and physical abilty to McGregor and supercedes McGregors mental ability by miles). Also the £5/6m we may have got from McGregors transfer could have bought us a replacement for the aging Davie Weir and the sometime dodgy defence of Rangers could have squeezed the life out of sides resulting in us not being 7 points behind a Celtic side that are unbelieveably fluky. Anyway, i'd very much like to hear you guys opinion on Mr mcGregor as i'm sure we could move on without him.
  15. I'm very suprised no-one has responded to this yet. I think yoiu make a good point. The guy is a disaster and to my mind gets away with murder. I agree with everything you say.
  16. ...Why do we keep dropping daft points when on paper we have a better side than celtic and they were in europe(which is supposed to have you dropping some points in your own domestic league due to tiredness), yet we have over a week to plan games tactically and get fit for them and we are dropping more points than celtic? This is driving me mad this season. Darcheville even said that we should win the league this year because Celtics euro run will make them take their eye off the league. So, i ask you JCD if thats your mentality then why are we now 7 points behind them the week they bow out of europe? I think most people thought that we would have been able to plan a relaxed raid on the league this year because we had a limited number of games to play compared to celtic, but it's not worked this way and i wonder if the players and management of Rangers are to blame for expecting celtic to drop points and as a result going into games complacently. If thats the case then we need to axe the whole (so-called second coming) of Walter Smith's coaching staff(him included). This comes from a Big Walter fan who has up till now always backed him against any kind of criticism. But recently it has been totally unforgivable to drop league points against the pish of StMirren and Hearts. Dundee Utd are our bogey side, so that was maybe excusable, but none others were. So, whats fundamentaly wrong with our set up this time? We have had four seasons to plan the downfall of Celtic, and bar a few wins in the league against them, we havent even come that close to be honest. Last season was the closest but we used europe as an excuse to make ourselves feel better when all we had to do was defend for another 2 minutes in the first of the two league games at parkhead at the end of last season. Sounds easy now but we all know now we werent up to it as celtic always showed more spirit and need for the title. To finish on what will probably seem a daft point too. It just seems to me that everytime we play an away side they seem to be so up for it. Yet when Celtic play them they seem as though they lie back. Dont want to sound paranoid but it's so frustrating to watch Hearts and StMirren play like men possessed against Rangers and then play like pussies against Celtic. I'd love to hear your theories on why we are pish when we shouldnt be. signed frustrated bear
  17. Sorry, couldn't help reminding any passing tims that they totally fucked it up last night. Hahahahahahaha:rfc:
  18. I doubt McGeeky will be going anywhere. I've heard it all before and to be honest he's not good enough to be in the Premier league in England.
  19. Very good point mate. I have been looking for something to give the team a boot up the arse after the likes of St.Mirren beating us. I honestly think they need some kind of inspiration at times too so they don't ever think they've done it(like last year) and take their foot off the gas. Is there anyway of sending this clip to WS to get it used in the dressing room i wonder?
  20. John Barr

    Aaron

Whats weird about this is that Aaron is so well thought of in Valencia that he is a bit of a wonderkid.(well he is in FM anyway)
  21. I hope the OP isn't correct, cause if we do sell him, it'll be the absolute end of any championship challenge and will only reaffirm thousands of Gers fans suspicions that Murray is trying to rake in as much as he can from us the fans and the team before he sells up. Lateley ,with the sold players already mentioned, Gers have been selling out their yearly challenges to Celtic just to rake in a £5m transfer fee in place of a league title. That is the way we have been run and it's not the traditional Rangers way. So, IF MB is sold, then Murray will sell whatever trust he has with the last few remaining Murray loyal fans, and i fear the club could implode as a result(i.e sell Bougherra...lose fans faith...lose all 4 cups to celtic...sack Smith...) I hope i'm wrong!
  22. Good idea. And show it to Broadfoot in particular as he'll be marking the wee irritating cunt. I have never wished a player ill treatment, but by god do i hope Broadfoot breaks this wee wind up merchants legs.:box:
  23. Ha! what a wee fanny. He talks like stan laurel, with a wee wimpy, pre pubescent, high- pitched montone. How annoying that voice is. Argh!!!! Have you ever heard such a prick in all your life? As if he was the one player responsible for swaying it to Celtic. Fuck Off McGreedy ya fud. As for Paul Caddis(the greatest substitute midget who's never played for Celtic first team)...get it right up you anaw with yer wee womans laugh. I personally can never remeber any player from EITHER side being such a prick about winning the league. And just think how many players theres been. Not even Neil Lennon was as much a wee cunt as that. It will all blow up in his face though sooner or later. Celtic will lose the league one day and i just hope someone remebers this clip. Now i know why he's had his face battered in Glasgow "3 (times) in a row" Mcgreedy. Soon be four too if i meet you.:box: Ah well enjoy your runners up medals for this season ya wee inbred irish gypo cunt!
  24. I hardly think it was Hibs fans. They are too sensible to get involved in such pathetic childish behaviour. It all points towards another idiotic move from the knuckle-dragging element of Celtic's moronic movement. Has it not already happened to a few other players?
