Maybe it was a Zanussi eh? LOL Ah well, maybe it's best he isnt around now as i don't think i would take to the guy much, high flyer or not.

Thats very interesting lads. Some really good bits of info there. Thanks for all that people. I honestly never knew it was as close at it appears now with Hamburg singing Rangers chants. Thats pretty cool. Cammy, yes i have heard of the Chelsea/Rangers relationship too but being a Man Utd fan i'm not really interested in it. But it is good to know that these big teams have our club at heart:cheers:

A few times now i've heard about fans of Rangers and Hamburg having very close ties. I am not entirely sure to what extent the relationship goes to though. I have always liked Hamburg as my German side but don't follow them too closely. I seem to recall someone telling me there is a HSV/Rangers supporters club in Hamburg. And, i could be wrong, but i'm sure i was told that Hamburg fans unfurled a banner declaring their support for Rangers during our UEFA cup run last season(at the time when we played Werder Bremen). I wonder if anyone can enlighten us to the extent of the relationship between both clubs(if any) and the two sets of supporters please? :hamburgfc:

I just hope that if MacGregor and Ferguson come back, that it doesnt have the opposite effect Smith wants it to have. The team seem to play pretty damn well without either anyway.

Sounds very interesting. I won't even ask. Going by the awards though i searched in the search engine, it seemed he was popluar and also unpopluar cause he won the 'Most missed user2006' and the 'Gersnet Hall Of Shame2006'. Bit of a contrast there.
-
That sounds interesting. But in a way, i'm not even sure i want to ask you the story behind it:confused: Ah! Ok, go on, i can't miss the tail of a man and a washing machine. Sounds like the beginnings of a joke anyway.

Yeah done it mate. Thanx for that. A bit clearer now, but there is a few names i don't recognise(maybe people who were here long before me). Think it was the 2006 awards where Brahim Hemdani won the Player of the year award. Theres some guys called Fraser and another called Colshy who were all over the awards that year. Can't say i know of these guys but the latter is apparantly in the Hall of Shame(i think). Fraser? He was up for Newcomer of the Year and went ballistic because he didn't win it. lol Are these guys still on here mate?

Very Interesting. Chris Burke lol:) Ta Del.

I hope wee S.Smith gets a game and Velicka too. I am going for 3-1 Rangers.

Jon do you have a list of previous winners from those awards? Including the Gersnet awards!? Would be an interesting read to have a look at those. Also, i'd like to read over a list of previous winners before i vote for the winners this year, just seems a bit fairer so as the same person is not winning it every year.

BooHoo. It's no fair is it Strachan?:flipa:

I agree with all of your comment and think it is very sensible.

Ofcourse we can do better, But WILL WE? AND, is our current management capable of finding better than that? Those players are the ones who stand out everytime we play them. I was just chewing the fat and seeing what we could come up with because if rumours are to be believed then those players may well be all we will be able to get because of the poor financial situation. If it was a choice between some of thos players and the crap we've got currently hanging around Ibrox(i.e Mr Dailly), then i'd go for the players i mentioned everytime!

Not sure if the guys who run Gersnet accept clips from other websites so i haven't put this on. But, if you want a wee laugh at Celtic's expence, go to YouTube and enter in the search "Brother Walfrid is a bear". I thought it was rather amusing. It's a wee bit of revenge for Rangers fans as i vividly remeber the last time they won the league they brought about two bus full of Celtic fans to Ibrox stadiums front entrance and stopped the traffic by doing a big huddle over the road. So, if you've seen that on Youtube, you'll enjoy the Brother Walfrid clip in revenge for that!

St Mirren 1 : 2 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
John Barr replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I'd go for Edu. Also thought Neil Alexander done particularly well, especially when dealing with cross balls. Caught everyone of them and took everything with him when coming out for a cross. -
I realise McGinn is the grandson of a former Celtic chairman, but in my book we cannot be choosers. He clearly has talent and we dont want to go back to the bad old days where Rangers only signed protestants and Celtic got the ALL the Catholic players and because they knew Rangers wouldnt sign any Catholics, they deliberatly targeted the best Protestant players (e.g Kenny Dalglish, Danny McGrain) to antagonise us. So, if we are going to back to those days when we are selecting players because of who they are related to then it could lead to another 9 in a row...for CELTIC.

What is this guys problem? And why are Rangers prone to buying players like this that seem to get payed for doing one thing well...Being Injured the majority of their time. I couldn't believe it when Beasley ran on the park tonight and got injured in 90 seconds after a tackle a 5 year old boy would have come away with. That after being taken of injured in his last game which was ANOTHER comeback from ANOTHER injury where he'd been taken off on that game aswell!!!! I(like so many other Gers fans) have waited so long on this guy to do something inspirational for us and all he does is lie on the deck or get carried off injured. Okay, he MAY actually have a rib injury tonight, but to me he needs to be shown the door as he is just not strong enough to cut it in Scotland. So, why buy him in the first place? OR Now he has been here for 2 years Why keep him around when it is blatantly obvious he cannot compete at the highest level in this country? After a good start in this country he went of the boil after getting injured. After that he just didnt seem interested. He is one player who we need to get shot of as far as i am concerned. Picking up £15k a week to be injured is a complete sham and something needs to be done about it. Get him out of Ibrox i say.

Can anyone tell me why we don't raid Hamilton Accies for decent young players? They have stacks of good young talent already bled into first team experience. Obviously James McCarthy is the obvious one9who in my opinion is going to sign for Celtic one day). But, heres just a few others i think we should take a serious look at as COVER initially, because the likes of Dailly and the sorts need to be shown the door and fresh youngsters brought in.... Tomas Cerny GK Brian Easton Def(L) James McArthur(Mid Cen) James Gibson(Def/Mid L) David Elebert(Def Cen) Other players around the Scottish Premier league are.. Mark Reynolds(Def C) Motherwell Ian Vigurs (Mid Cen) I.C.T. Stephen McGinn(Mid cen) St.Mirren Andy Dorman(Mid Cen) St.Mirren Mhedi Taouil (Att mid) Kilmarnock Gary Kenneth( Def Cen) Dundee utd Prince Bauben( Mid Cen) Dundee Utd Darren Barr( Def Cen) Falkirk Scott Arfield(Mid Cen) Falkirk If we want bargain basement signings as thats all we can affoard then thats a starting list as far as i'm concerned. Most of those players would do most teams a turn and could develop into great players with experience from Rangers.

member it well. Back then i was just starting out as a 13 year old fan travelling to all games home and away with my bro. Jock Wallace years fair woke me up to what state we were in i'll tell ya. And the youth of today complain about what we've got today? Try suffering the 1985/86 season and you'd never moan again about what Walter has given to us. p.S just to clarify, that is no way a smeer on Wallaces name as he brought us glory after years of suffering at the hands of Celtic in 1977 on.

Fantastic post mate. Your words are my sentiments exactly and i could not have put it any finer. Well done:thup:

Actually in 1975 five Scotland players, including Billy Bremner were sinn died after an incident in a Copenhagen nightclub. Just thought i'd be pedantic. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7977173.stm -
Were you listening to the Real radio football phone in?

Breaking News: Ferguson Transfer Listed and McGregor suspended
John Barr replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Thats one thing we all agree on to be honest. This is one major headache and if Walter Smith manages to sort all this out AND win the league then he deserves all the plaudits in the world. This is going to either make or break this side. If we win on Sunday i think it'll go along way to helping the atmosphere improve. But that will be by no means an easy task. This is d day for Rangers. -
Breaking News: Ferguson Transfer Listed and McGregor suspended
John Barr replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Players who play badly constantly should always be dropped. My gripe is not soley with Ferguson, it is a universal one and one which is for the good of the team. I'm quite happy for Davis, Miller and Mendes ALL to be dropped if they play poorly, and as such, there have been periods throughout this season where all should have been dropped for form. But, Ferguson is not being dropped soley for form, his problem is more than that, as he acts like a plank in front of Scotland representing Rangers as their captain, acting like a child and has now stirred up a hornets nest again with his selfishness and stroppiness. I will bid goodbye to him anytime as he had his time as Gers captain and undeniably did well for us in past seasons. But his talent seems to have dyed off and been replaced with some kind of cretinness and as a Rangers captain that is totally unacceptable.
