  1. Well, now Walter and Ally can't say the fans didn't tell them so, but... We told you so. Yes, it was well over the time to get young Flecky back into the first team. For MONTHS there has been a gaping gap in the left midfield role that was filled expertly by the youngster today. So, is this another tactical error by the Rangers management not to include him earlier? Smith can no longer say it's 'too early 'to play Fleck or they are 'biding their time'. Arsenal have showed time and time again with their young players that at 16 years old, if your good enough your in there. And we have all known Fleck has been good enough. The fans have been crying out for some young talent and a product of Murray park. There have been some, but none ever touted to go so far as wee Fleck. Ally McCoist was quoted before the game saying that Fleck "may not have been picked because of they(the fans telling the management to play Fleck) reasons", but more because he has merited it by good play in the last few reserve games. Your not that naive Ally. Give the fans some credit. We watch the same games as you and Fleck's display in last years youth cup final against Celtic was all the evidence we needed to get the boy into the first team squad and give the lad a deserved chance. So, now he's in it, keep him there. Because he now needs LOTS of first team experience to help nurture him into the excellent player he is destined to be.
  2. Murray wants the best for the club, right? So, he'll only sell if "it's in the clubs best interests" right? What if he sold it to us then like a chairman in England did, for a £1? Then every Rangers fan in the country contributed say £40 to £50 to go towards wiping out debt, wages and transfer fees. Rangers have a potential of well over 250,000 fans who are willing to travel to Manchester to watch them lift a UEFA cup. So if these fans were sat down and told that this £initial £50 would save the club they love and buy them the players they think 'they deserve' then it could work out. IF and it's a BIG if that 250,000 fans contributed to the Rangers cause we would be talking about having 12.5 million as a starting price to clear debt, get the club on even keel and pay that months wages for the first month. If you say that about half of that was to go on the club debt(£6m)(might be more or less, not too sure), we'd take around 2 million for wages. That would leave £4.5m to buy a player or players to get the club going again. Then for the following months these 250,000 fans could contribute around £20 towards the clubs monthly running. That would be a MONTHLY profit of £5m to pay wages and buy players. If we say the £2m is for wages and the £3m is for transfers, that is another £3m to buy a second player, and so it carries on... Obviously, Murray would have to make some profit from this because he sold the club for a pound, so any profits of around 20% would go to him for around 20 years and that should pay him off. The 250,000 loyalist of supporters would have to be rewarded with something, so special discounts, club access to Ibrox(a turn of free hospitality to them once a season, and free access to Murray park within certain limits), 10% off ticket prices and 15% off season tickets could help attract these 250,000 supporters, and possibly more. Obviously 250,000 supporters is a lot to ask, as is a one off payment of an initial 50 quid and 20 quid a month afterwards. But i seriously think if it came down to saving the club from ruin and having the chance to run it the way we wanted with a large transfer kitty, would help bring out a lot of these guys who only come out to support the club at big events. Just to note, i don't claim to be a business expert or anything like it, i am merely banding around ideas to see what people think is best for the club.:rfc::rfc:
  3. no chance. not for that scumbag.:box: I think it was more for their previous drug offences aswell as this assault.
  4. hmn, not for drunken fights etc, but Lennon was an arsehole and probably deserved a beating.:box: After all the arrogance and baiting he was guilty of it could have been coming. But in saying that, the guys that done it were just neadrothals.
  5. Easy mistake mate. Don't worry, perhaps Murray himself would like it if we did associate him with such a succesful period.
  6. Good point. I forgot that we play first and so any win will cut it to 2 points anyway even before Celtic play. I am one of the fans who want Murray to leave. Although i don't have all the answers(like who should replace him), but if we win on Saturday and it is cut to 2 points i am probably going to have mixed feelings. In a way i want Murray to have no luck at all and to continue making an arse of things, but wishi ng for that is like wishing bad luck on myself cause i NEVER want my team to lose. But if we go to 2 points i'll be happy for the team and players but inside i know Murray will be doing cartwheels in his office saying 'get it up yeas all'!!!
  7. Thank you for the good sense to bring back some sanity to this thread Frankie.
  8. big gordy are you aware the Souness era was not under David Murray but instead Malborough and chief executive Davie Holmes? Not sure as you don't say and probably are aware, but i just don't want anyone to give SDM the credit for something he never started.
  9. Wonder if City would loan us Jo or Michael johnson or Stephen Ireland for 6 months:)
  10. I jst remembered though Gribz that Aberdeen tend to lie down to Celtic. Ah well, back to 5 points then:(
  11. Pathetic!!!! It took a crisis for Walter to realise he should be playing Fleck. Funny how the ordinary Gers fan knew he would cut it in the first team sometime last season. SHAME on you Rangers management team.
  12. Any chance we can do a swp for a few of their first team players?
  13. After all the rotten things thats happened to Rangers lately, i.e forced to sell a top player and losing money as fast as Chick Young lost his hair, wouldn't it be so ironic if we won this weekend and Celtic lost to Aberdeen? Down to 2 points after Celtic fans saying they would be 10 points clear of Rangers the week after the old firm game. Whats the chances? Although i'm quite pessimistic about our title chances, football has a strange way of coming up with these twists. Celtic thought they were walking the league and the quote "the league was won before the new year" from Celtic fans has never left my mind. So, lets hope this twist will be one that does come true.
  14. Indeed. When i wrote the post i had thought about contacting you first of all to see if i could use the Gersnet name in this protest. But i wasn't sure if you would be around to answer, and i was keen to get the post up because i am feeling a lot of hostility towards David Murray from a lot of Gers fans. I totaly understand and respect everyone elses opinion may differ from my own. Indeed that was why i put the post up. To see how deep this topic goes.
  15. So, at the St.Johnstone game there was a sort of flag protest attempting to draw Scotlands attention towards the mismangement of Rangers by David Murray. The time has come to start doing something about this man. Remember this time last year? Our glorious european run. It took us to a European final and it should have been built upon. However, what happened? No one took any action to try and build on that team as most teams would do after winning some success. Instead the instruction was given to apparantly save money until we beat the pub team from Lithuania and one more qualifying tie(that would have been Aalborg) and therefore enter the Champions league group stages. It was a clear money saving scam by David Murray. However, it backfired and we went out as a result of being a poor team. So, had we been given the money to buy a few players in positions that were clearly needing filled, Rangers would have earned the club about £5m from the qualification into the group stages. Now, Rangers are being forced to sell their top goal scorer to pay for this glaring error and the only person who couldn't see the team needed strengthened was David Murray. However, this is not the first big error from Mr.Murray. During the Alex McLeish years he was found penny pinching as a Rangers manager was left to bring in free transfers and loan signings. For far too long now, many fans have not liked the direction Mr Murray has been steering the club in. And now the fans shouls start to make it known to David Murray that we want him to sell the club. He says we are not "captains of industry " and indicates we don't really know what we're talking about when it comes to running a club like Rangers. Well Mr Murray, i think you'll find thousands of fans who were supporting the club whilst you were scurrying around outside Somerset Park in Ayr, that we were here well before you and the club is in our blood. Unlike yourself who seems to have bought the club to forward yourself as an individual. We the fans want a different direction for Rangers. A club like Rangers should not be selling it's top striker to pay for an error of judgement you made by yourself to balance the books. A club like Rangers should not be on the verge of gifting Celtic a FOURTH succesive league title in a row. Where will it end? We have had 3 years to plan Celtic's downfall, so why has it not yet happened? And,a club like Rangers should be having a half decent run in europe EVERY season. Not being knocked out by pub teams because you decided to keep your cash instead of stregthening a potentially good side(which was left to drift off into an unbelievable decline). Please sign under this post with a short comment of why you want David Murray to leave Rangers alone and sell up. Lets show Mr Murray why we ant him away from Rangers.:rfc::rfc:
  16. Ha great statement mate. Love it! Just look at the responses all these Gers fans are giving Murray. I used to like him, but that was a DECADE ago when he may have been seen as doing some progressing with Rangers. (or looking back now maybe that was the Malborough groups doing and Murray just took the credit for what they set up?) The man is turning us into a laughing stock, and guess what mr Murray? YOU are the biggest laughing stock out there. It's way by the time for Murray to sell and move on. He says he is the best, well let us be the judge of that, US. people who LOVE the club and will run it as a profit making organisation. The other people who want to buy the club should be given a go for a temporary basis and if it doesn't work he could have it back till we get someone good enough. To be honest, i'd rather have some keen syndicate than an egocentric, paranoid, sociopath who has delusions of grandeur. SELL THE CLUB MR. MURRAY AND LEAVE US ALONE!!!!:rfc:
  17. I hear what you say. But Murray knows better than anyone that if the fans start voting him out by not attending matches or not spending cash on Rangers products, then he will be FORCED into action to improve the situation or to sack himself!!!(HOPEFULLY)
  18. Reading more and more stories about the Rangers mess is getting everyone down. Yet, when i think back to this time last season i was filled with superb optimism which was well and truly fuelled by Rangers run to a major european final, and the thought we were going to win the quadruple. So, just SEVEN months after we reached the finals of the Scottish cup and the UEFA cup, Rangers are selling off their best players, in financial melt down, the laughing stock of Scottish football. And we have a chairman who appears to be sitting in his ivory towers with ear muffs on and a blindfold as he thinks that the less contact with worried supporters, then all his troubles may just 'go away' overnight! Rangers are in the biggest mess i can remember since the year of 1985 when we were a lowly 5th in the league and sacking our manager Jock Wallace. But the speed that a historical institution that is Rangers football club has cracked right through the middle is frightening. It can mean only gross mismanagement and our angry fans should be rewarded with our loyalty of the club by Murray resigning and a new buyer being found immediatly(don't kid yourself that no-one wants to buy is; this is a myth made by Celtic fans). The stagnant stench of David Murray ruling Rangers the way he has for the last 10 years is poisoning our great club and everything in it. So, now is the time to demand action.
  19. Great!!!!!!!!! He was dropped to the resreves for "footballing reasons" and we are favourites to sign him. Sounds as though he would be a 'great' success here. NOT.
  20. i remember when i used to roll about on the floor laughing at the misfortunes and mismanagment of Celtic. Now, it has come round full circle. Lets just hope it doesn't take us the 10 years or so that it took Celtic to get their act together from 1989-2000. By my reckoning we're about 4 years through what could be the same decade of bad luck.
  21. i disagree with that entirely. I got the impression that his step son Mason was genuinly hurt by Gazzas addiction, you could tell he cared and from what they showed i got the feeling he was very close to him. I have to say though Sheryl should have pulled the plug on this programme as it is now going to be seen as a way of coining in cash from Gazzas ill health..she should have realised that the public will see it as her cashing in on Gazzas misfortune. The young boy Regans head is toatlly mixed up. One minute he cares the next he is wanting rid off Gazza. I wonder if Sheryl isnt his closest influence as thats her feelings too. The programme makers were rank rotten. I couldnt believe it when they asked the 12 year old lad "Regan, what do you think is wrong with your dad?" WTF????:admin: Talk about trying to brainwash him into thinking that Gazzas "wrong" in what he is doing? The mans ill ffs, he should have asked "what do you think help your dad could benefit from", just slightly more positive. Overall though i feel the kids do feel for their dad(doesnt even matter if it's their step dad or not, they still grew up together as parent/child).
  22. We need to move on and try other better players or unknown quantities, for example Kris Commons as i said on the other thread! We've all bought the Lovenkrands video and lets be honest who would be getting excited at the thought of him re-signing? Not me!!! Therefore, for the sake of progress, i really hope Walter is better than this rumour.
  23. I've been thinking about the left side of midfield where we are glaringly poor. We have tried umpteen players in that position and still have not found an adequate solution. I think it is almost a definite that Walter Smith will try and buy someone to fill in this big crack in midfield. But i've come up with two ideas.(apologies if they've already been stated). As Rangers have tried the likes of Adam, Novo, Burke, Lafferty, and Mcculloch without success would it not be possible to play narrower through midfield and have an attacking midfielder on top of three midfield players in the centre and two up front.... ..................Davis.....................Ferguson,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mendes.............. ...........................................Novo..................................................... ............................Boyd..........................Miller.................................... It doesn't have to be Novo but i think he is good in that roll. If we have to go wide in this formation we can use the full backs to bomb forward(however, i'm not convinced Broadfoot and Papac are the ones to fulfil this roll. My next solution is that we but Kris Commons. I have watched him play for Derby and Scotland and have liked the fast paced, dribbling tricks that he can do, and he takes on the defender and floats in a killer ball and he can force the oppositions midfield way back towards the defence. I think he is an ideal candidate for the left side problem and i think we could get him for between 1.5m and 2m. the fact he is a Scotland international is a bonus. What do you guys think?
  24. ...and the fact he'll pick Adam before Aaron is a complete joke.
  25. actually no. He was shown the door out of Hibs and then went to StMirren:flipa:
