  1. *tumbleweed blows across the floor* Ok, i'll get me coat!
  2. A most reasonable agreement for all concerned mate:cheers:
  3. I agree with your post. But, he is a Rangers captain and until he leaves he still has to get support or Celtic are on for another league title. Although, i do happen to think that if we don't win the league this season, he'll be gone for next season anyway. I just can't stand the thought of another league-less season!
  4. I half hope your wrong Pete. If your right then it may be because Rangers didnt win the league and we had another poor season, and we simply cannot affoard to do that.
  5. I think thats the same season mate that i mentioned. Your right though, you can see him perhaps over doing it on occassion leading to him looking like the preverbial headless chicken. Thers no doubt in my mind though that he has never been anywhere near what he used to be like since he returned from injury this season.
  6. Rangers are looking to bring in AT LEAST six Strikers to add to the half dozen they have the now. It is thought they have signed an Arthur Scargill and 5 more strikers from a Yorkshire coalmine in England. At least we'll get some 'fight' out of these Strikers.:box:
  7. Heres the league table and all the info you should keep up with with a very talented bunch of players we have. Theres a lot of optimism for these lads and they are very highly thought of most of them. this has been the case in the past with other ones who have failed to cement their place at Ibrox, but this lot seem to be more naturally gifted than previous sides. http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s60
  8. I like Papac, but i would be willing to let him go for £2m considering the financial situation. BUT, Murray must give at least half of that to a replacement who IS NOT a centre half Walter!!!
  9. I watched Barry Ferguson play for Rangers youth teams right through to the present and i've always felt that his best position is as a defensive midfielder. Barry has some great ability to harrass forward players and isn't a bad tackler and we all know he can pick out a 50 yard pass(if he can be bothered). That's why i see him as the perfect DEFENSIVE midfielder as oppossed to a Cental or Attacking midfielder. His ability to break up attacks and ping a pass over the midfeild to our forwards was utilised more when Dick Advocaat was manager. But not as much as it should have been. However, Alex Mcleish used him further forward and in many games played him as an attacking midfielder. Here he was quite succesful scoring 16 league goals in season 2002/03. This may have been where Barry felt he was better used further up the park and believed he was more of an attacking midfielder than anything else. But as we all know, he scored only small amounts of goals after this season as he drifted through the positions of midfield for 6 more seasons. I think the addition of Mendes and Thomson to Rangers has further confused this point and as a result we are very unlikely to see anything like the Barry Ferguson of 2002, and he will continue to believe he can play further forward when infact he should be utilised as a defensive midfielder.
  10. That story doesnt make sense. The best coaches in europe are prepared to give Gazza a coaching sucondment in order that he ends up at Rangers!!! No disrespect to us, but in my harsh opinion if Inter Milan and Man Utd are getting nothing out of this deal then i cant see it happenening. Those big greedy teams only make deals in their own interests.
  11. Scotland under 21s must have some side if they can only affoard to let John Fleck have a substitutes place. Crap:flipa:
  12. I think your spot on mate. Having seen both play theres no comparing Cueller with Gough as Gough played out his skin for about 5 seasons where Cueller for one and then buggered off. If anyone wanted to pick Cueller ahead of Gough then they might also want to consider Boumsong as he was probably a quicker and more technical player than Cueller, who relied more on positional sense and top quality tackling. Gough had ALL the above mentioned. Some cracking teams so far lads. In the first post i picked mine and although i never actually got to see Baxter play, i cant see how anyone can not put him straight into the side having been Rangers most skillfull player ever. But, thats the fun of these type of posts, you can go on all day arguing for what you believe in. Keep up the good work lads.
  13. Anyone who watches Rangers TV will be familliar with the headline. But i thought i'd be very interested to hear you guys list your Greatest ever 11 plus one manager. The show on RTV is very interesting and when i tried it myself i found myself toiling with a few positions and getting some great memories of the players i came up with. So, pick your top EVER 11 from ANYTIME in history plus your manager to manage the team and we can maybe cast a vote or something to see who has the best(or worst)side. For starters, heres mine... 1. GK Andy Goram(followed closely by Chris Woods) 2. RB Sandy Jardine (followed byGary Stevens) 3. LB John Greig(followed by Stuart Munro) 4. CD Richard Gough(followed by John Brown) 5. CD Terry Butcher(followed by Graham Roberts) 6. RM Brian Laudrup (followed by Willie Johnston) 7. CM Paul Gascoigne (followed By Stuart McCall) 8. CM Jim Baxter (followed by Ray Wilkins) 9. LM Davie Cooper (followed by Davie Wilson) 10. CF Ally McCoist(followed by Dado Prso) 11. CF Mark Hateley(followed by Colin Stein) Manager: Jock Wallace.:rfc:
  14. I would say the majority will opt for Rangers for the CL. So, thats what i will go for too.
  15. Heres mine for the weekend.. Wales 5/6 Rep Ireland evs Belgium 7/10 a tenner nets you 62.33 and your bar bill for Saturday night. enjoy:cheers:
  16. At least it'll give him time to reflect on the 7 goals he let in against Celtic. Twat!!!
  17. Jon, look out for "The life of Brian" on ESPN channel 442. this week has had Cloughie specials on all week. I've treated myself to the two european cup wins in 1979 and 1980 against Malmo and Hamburg. I was a bit too young at the time to take it in then, but watching it back you really get a sense of how completely in awe people were of Clough. He was also a master tactician and had some absolutely fanstastic players on his team in Nottingham Forrest. To name a couple Kenny Burns, Tony Woodcock, Gary Birtles, Trevor Francis, Archie Gemmil and just watch some of the replays of John Robertson. He was a fantastic player.(not the ex Hearts guy). Hope your not too late to catch some progs on ESPN, but they do repeat an awful lot so you should still get most of the progs on him that have been on all week.
  18. I'd go for Boyd too mate. But only in the literal sense of the word. :box::box::box:
  19. I'll drive him there myself. Even if it takes a year to get there. Byeee:flipa:
  20. Davis and Lafferty for me.
  21. I had to laugh when the interviewer asked "do you feel you were forced out the door at Ibrox?" and Hutton replied "phew, erm, i don't know!". Me arse Hutton:flipa:
  22. You bugger. you beat me again. I was just about to post that. You beat me with the Gazza interview too:flipa: :box::box:
  23. Stunning? Surley it's only Malaga though?
  24. Two quality youngsters who are very highly thought of. If they come to Ibrox they'll probably never achieve anything in life under the present regime:(
  25. He will always be debated about just how good a player he is or is not. But for my mind, if you watch him carefully, he NEVER stops working. He works the defenders, makes space for others, runs channels, and i would be very interested to see his assists tally for his career. Good signing for Villa.
