I've got no complaints whatsoever so far. I still think we'll end up with some good new players, a good run in the CL and 4 in a row. So there.

Are you happy Sir David of Weir has signed a 1 year contract extension?
bluebear54 replied to Gazza_8's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm happy, although I would like to see Bartley and Cuellar in too. If he's there to share his wealth of experience and play about 15-20 games, I'm happy. -
I've not seen Hemmings much, but I'm impressed with the clips from today. Would agree with Zappa about not needing Goodwillie. I think, though, if the money was right, Miller is worth a couple of seasons. you're always going to get strikers injured during a season, and we need depth.
-
Aye - Hemmings does indeed look good. We could see him breaking through big time this season.
-
At least the score looks fairly respectable. Should we be worried about next Saturday?
-
We seem to give ourselves a much better chance of winning if we score.
-
Are you ultimately bothered by pre-season so far?
bluebear54 replied to Danny's topic in Rangers Chat
No - I'm not overly bothered. Although I would hope for a good performance and result today, hopefully buidling up to a good result on Tuesday. But, like so many others say, it's next Saturday that counts. -
Ally McCoist's acknowledgement we need players quickly

We should perhaps get used to the Whyte way instead of the Murray way of negotiating. Murray was, until his wallet got stuck, Mr Moneybags. He bought what he wanted, when he wanted. Money no object. CW, on the other hand, has already shown us during the takeover that he has tenacity, is skilled in brinkmanship, and is determined to strike the best deal possible - or walk away. I may be proven wrong, but I think we'll end up with the squad depth we want, and the quality we want. But it will be on CW's terms. Then it's up to Ally. -
Strange. My form would be quite excellent with a bit of that. Mind might go off football for a while. But come the start of the season, things would become normal again.
-
Not good news about Wylde. Really looks like a prospect and did well for us last season. Good chance he will be a revelation this season. Obviously we're not offering him enough - in his or his agent's opinion.

I think Gazza8's right. We need two Centre Halfs. I'm really not sure about depending on Weir for a whole season. Papac and Whittaker can both play there, as can Broadfoot, but an unsettled CH pairing is the last thing we need. Would be happy if we could get Bartley. Or Wilson on loan. I worry about Cuellar - he was great when was here, but is he fit enough to play 50-odd games? if he picked up where he left off, it would be a drop of a hat. I hate transfer windows. I much prefer winning the league on the last day of the season. -
I think what he meant was that he enjoys it when HE'S doing the winding up. If this is anything to go by, regarding his press quotes, it's going to be another season fraught with problems.

I think the overall attitude of the statement is great - and welcome However, i thought that lifting a quote from a pretty poor movie certainly doesn't make the statement better. My point is that if the quote was original, it was a brilliant thing to say. But it wasn't, hence my comments which are just my opinion. You've also made your opinion clear and that's fair enough. But no thanks, I don't intend to fuck off elsewhere. -

I'm watching "Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps" just now. That quote is lifted from the movie. Bit crass and unoriginal to use it without referencing it. Especially from a media company. -

Good news indeed. Been a great few days. Hope we can get Davis signed up long term. Then I'm sure there are more to come. Adam to Liverpool will also boost the transfer budget. -
I'd like to see Jelavic get the No 9.
-
I think there are quite a few of us who have no conception of how to run a football club prudently. I for one wasn't expecting CW to be a sugar daddy. I really think we're being quite canny with our dealings in the transfer market. I'm also sure that we will end up with some worthwhile signings. We've still got the squad that romped home to win the league. That squad is more than capable of qualifying for the CL and holding their own in the SPL. So - in my mind, we don't need panic buying, and would be better served by waiting for the right players to come along.

Good sound systems don't come cheap. Hope they didn't get ripped off for cheap shite. ..... The 64 million dollar question is - what's the food going to be like? Spaghetti alla puttanesca at half time?

Dundee Utd release a strange statement about Goodwillie
bluebear54 replied to Danny's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed. The lad obviously wants to come, Thompson desperately wants the dosh and he's worried we won't come back. Last day of window one if it was up to me. BTW, what was all this tosh in the papers about Cardiff having made a bid for him which was accepted? Only stickler is his court cases - otherwise, think he could be another Naisy for us. -
Cracker. Can't recollect that one. God bless Gazza.

Good news indeed. The Record has forgotten all semblance of journalism for many years now. It was a pretty hairy story held together with bits of fluff, and was an ill-disguised pathetic attempt to sell print. While we're at it, shame on Traynor for allowing it. Looks like we've finally grown a set. I've no sympathy for any sports journalist today. The days of them being honest, wise, respected commentators have long gone. I look forward to this present mob being demoted to hand-to-mouth impoverished bloggers. They sowed the harvest. Let them reap the rewards.

I don't think it will make it easier. There's no-one at Ibrox now that he knows, now that SDM and Wattie's gone. If I were him, I'd keep Cueller and play him at centre half. No brainer. But I hope he doesn't and that Carlos is on his way.

Amphitheatre, an arena? It's the presence of bath houses. They'd have run a thousand miles ............. -
That was good. Really good. I remember it being a lot nervier!
