  1. A Merry Christmas and goodwill to one and all. Whatever divides us is insignificant in comparison to what we have in common.
  2. Threats of violence are wrong, end of story. The Board need to offer an olive branch, not release more sympathy seeking PR though.
  3. The Board need to hold out a olive branch to the support. Not just soothing words, something tangible. If they do that, I'd be inclined to give Wallace his 120 days and judge them again afterwards. Nothing wrong with the threat of a boycott to concentrate minds, but are the Support clear on what our red-line issues are now that the Board have their shareholders' mandate?
  4. If he thinks they have the trust of the majority of fans, then his judgement, eyesight and hearing must all be suspect. Trust needs to be earned and they don't have much time. Tick, tock.
  5. The venture capitalists & Middle Eastern mystery investors will be heading for the exit in 18-24 months. Will we sit and wait for that to happen and see who they sell to, knowing that they won't care as long as they get a suitable return on their money? Alternatively, the support can use the time to build up our collective shareholding, so that we are in a stronger position next time. I think the BuyRangers DD scheme is a great vehicle for that, but the RST need to grasp the opportunity to reach out to the other fan groups and find away of broadening it's appeal / change its structure. Lots of challenges in that I know, but if we're not motivated to have a greater say in the running of the Club after yesterday, we never will.
  6. Nonsense, they have acknowledged there's an issue which they are dealing with. Would be entirely inappropriate to say more at this stage.
  7. Probably the best option available to McCoist. Abstention would have been seen as cowardice by the fans and had the Requisitioners lost narrowly, he'd have taken the flack. I don't expect any immediate repercussions for him (unless the Board want an all out fan revolt), but it will have weakened his position within the Club.
  8. Totally disagree, he looked very promising in the few games he played last year for us.
  9. You should credit ordinary supporters with more intelligence. Particularly on here. I'm not interested in personality cults and am perfectly capable of making up my own mind about the issues of the day thanks very much.
  10. I'm also a member. I'm not close to the Trust's sign-off process for official communications, but I'd expect a factual statement on Monday.
  11. Pariah status for the RST? Bill, I think that noise is the bottom of your particularly unsavoury barrel being scraped.
  12. Slightly OT, but I note that there's an advert on the home page of the Rangers.co.uk site, which claims "There's no disputing these figures", presumably a reference to the recent ASA review. The ad takes the form of an expanded pie chart showing different statistics from our season to date and promoting half season tickets. It is with some mirth and no little irony, that I can report that it claims we have 52 points from 15 games... Even I can't blame Mr Stockbridge for that, but can we trust any numbers we get from Ibrox these days?
  13. Big boys did it and ran away (with the money).
  14. Perhaps the most naturally gifted player we've got, so I'd like to see him get a regular start. He just needs to work hard and not over-complicate things.
  15. I was in exactly the same scenario (Bond seats) and did the same. It will be a difficult judgement call for many people when the time comes. I can't argue with your conditions though.
  16. Yes, it is pathetic. So, how do we move forward? How do we stop this from being a binary "I win, you lose" outcome? Many (probably the majority) of fans want change, but there's no sign of a workable compromise emerging, which is the biggest disappointment for me. Whatever happens, I will continue to support my team. I may buy individual match tickets rather than a season ticket, but I will continue to donate to the RST's Buy Rangers campaign. When the inevitable cash call comes from the Club I hope we (all groups of Rangers supporters) can get our act together sufficiently to deliver some form of elected fan representation on the Board as a condition of any further investment. Trust is hard won and easily lost. I hope whoever runs Rangers after the AGM is interested in at least trying to regain mine.
  17. Probably. Interesting choice of username, Crucible, isn't it? Brings to mind witch-hunts, scheming, the sacrifice of truth for personal advantage, dogmatic pursuance of one hypothesis despite the evidence or lack thereof and a refusal to compromise. Interesting choice indeed...
  18. The underlying point he was making was valid, but I agree he didn't articulate it clearly. I don't believe he was deliberately lying, nor do I think he's stupid. As I've said in this thread already tonight, I don't think any of them are perfect or deserve our unequivocal support. We need to be vigilant and healthily skeptical whoever wins the AGM vote.
  19. We'll need to agree to differ on Easdale then. I don't think any of the current protagonists deserve that level of unequivocal support.
  20. A fair question, albeit sidestepping the point re Easdale. Ideally, I wouldn't have DK as a director either. He can invest without being on the Board. However, there are important differences with Easdale's situation. DK's fraud charges were not pursued by the South African state, and he accepted liability in respect of 41 lesser counts of contravening section 75 of the Income Tax Act. So, back to Easdale...any concerns at all?
  21. I'm all for the rehabilitation of offenders, but given our recent history, I think we should have a higher bar for our Directors.
  22. Sandy was found by police to have £45k in a carrier bag down the back of his sofa. He got a 27 month sentence for VAT fraud. A group of shareholders, most of whose identities are unknown and which the Board won't divulge, have decided to grant Sandy their proxy votes. What do they get in exchange? No-one has explained that. Meanwhile, Sandy's brother James, who was also charged with VAT fraud (case dropped) is now the Chair of our remuneration committee. None of that in any way concerning to you?
  23. A compromise suggestion for all fans to get behind then; dump Stockbridge, back Murdoch & Wilson, drop the Murray's as they appear to be divisive figures for many, and leave the remainder of the current board in situ for now (much as I'd like us to get rid of Easdale). I think most fans would accept that.
