Amms or Spiers - no contest.

An excellent statement. Resolutions 9 & 10 were almost as unpopular as Stockbridge at the AGM. While I think they're limited to issuing c6m new shares for the £1.5m (i.e. they're not giving them away for peanuts, as technically they could have done), they've made pretty quick use of their new ability to wave pre-emption rights for existing shareholders (resolution 10). I suspect they've been planning this for some time. Green's favoured ones tightening their grip on control.

I've little doubt that most of them are very unhappy right now. They'll know that they're going to suffer an enforced dilution. How they choose to air that dissatisfaction is up to them.

I find it hard to understand what any reasonable supporter could object to from that interview.

If it makes you feel any better, it costs next to nothing to do one of these surveys via Survey Monkey. It's certainly not flawless, but I think folk are being way too critical about the club gathering feedback from fans.

Report of first meeting of Rangers CIC Working Group

I'm with you BH, upper case F works better. Great name either way though. -
Getting Kevin Kyle off the ground must be a bit like launching a Saturn 5 rocket. It takes a huge amount of effort and a bit of time to get moving. To be fair to Black though, he does compete well in the air and regularly wins balls against larger opponents.

I'd agree with that Zappa. I'm reminded of the approach that top athletes take when looking at a seemingly unattainable goal. They break it down into a series of milestones and aim for them. That way you're not daunted by the magnitude of the ultimate goal. 5% is certainly a realistic goal for the Trust to aim for over the next couple of years. -
Nothing at all. I'd prefer "for we are the Glasgow Rangers boys" though.

I should add that the real challenge will come if and when there's a share issue. The fans have been burnt more than once with shares in Rangers, but if they don't invest again, what little influence we have today will be further diluted. -

Zappa, 50%+ is more their raison d'être, rather than an unrealistic target. Nothing wrong in my book about setting out the aspiration and then looking for ways to realise it. I do agree that we're talking about the distant future at the current rate of progress, but I've said on here several times before, that anything in the range of 20-25% would bring genuine influence given our Shareholder base. I do think that 10k giving £10 per month is realistic today, whether through Buy Rangers or a CIC vehicle and that would be great progress. -
I don't think many people these days would find it acceptable to be singing about being up to our knees in anyone's blood, even if you think that "******" isn't sectarian (the literal historic definition might not be, but it's common usage absolutely is). It would be good to reclaim that song, but I've been going to Ibrox for well over 20 years and I've never heard the original words sung. In fact I had to look them up to see what they were ("We're down to our knees to see our team, At Ibrox or away). We shouldn't underestimate the size of the task involved, as it would require a sustained & orchestrated campaign to remove all the "add-ons" from our songbook and educate the support to the point where large elements didn't just revert to the unacceptable versions. I'd welcome that kind of initiative as part of our Club's journey back to the top and it would be an obvious contrast with what's going on at Celtic these days...

Don't get me wrong DB, I like both of them (Boyd as a finisher, Daly as someone who holds up and lays off the ball superbly), but as a combination, I couldn't see it working at all because of that mobility issue.

Possibly the least mobile striking partnership imaginable.

I assume they weren't wearing train driver / old Father Time costumes then? This is when I wish I'd picked a more interesting user name.

Sounds good. Would we have badges with our online personas on them? Might be more fun not to - we could guess who was who at the end of the evening...

In the case of Aberdeen's Declan McManus, presumably it was "we love Elvis Costello"?

Intergrated vs. incorporated. Wow, if that had been a shot, it would have hit the corner flag. -

Fair to say this issue polarises opinion in a way that I find quite baffling. And, while I agree with you that persuasion is the way to go, the derision certainly isn't one-way traffic (and that's not aimed at you personally either). -

As a relatively new RST member, with no knowledge of any of the back story / personalities, I find this thread profoundly depressing. Somehow, we need to move on. Surely the first step is to establish the wider supports' appetite for the principle of fan influence / ownership via a collective shareholding underpinned by some form of democratic governance and, ideally, leading to Board representation. Once we've established that, we can address options for how it can be delivered and by whom. -

Andy, it would be like electing an MP. The fans groups (read constituency party) elect their representative and that individual is tasked with serving the interests of all constituents (read supporters / shareholders). MP's listen to the views of their constituents and party members, but ultimately make up their own minds on most issues and are accountable for that to those who select and elect them. Why wouldn't that work for us?
