  1. As far as I know, they are encouraging settling before this case, as if you choose to settle, and pay the tax/penalties/interest, then you will not be able to get it back if they lose the Rangers case. So they are trying to get some people to pay some money in case the courts say that the people in questions are not due anything. Pretty rotten...
  2. They weren't even the challengers in the league until we were 6 titles in or so... It was the Motherwells, and Hibs, and Aberdeens!
  3. Regarding "legal action", did Man U ever go to court with the BBC over the Sir Alex thing? Or was it a work to rule he did? Could that be an option for us? If we need to send somebody, have a youngster go out and speak? or have a full "press conference" and follow that up with a private one where we actually do the talking?
  4. One hundred and twenty thousand pounds a year? Surely as a finance director of a poor Scottish club would recognise that is a ludicrous, unaffordable salary?!
  5. They were also featured on the official uefa website on Wednesday. A very worrying organisation.
  6. Surely these sort of crimes (see Zander Diamond et al) should be dealt with this type of punishment. It's not a crime as such in my eyes, but giving back to the community surely means something beneficial for society right? As for the rights/wrongs of the fact he got singled out, I'll not open that can of worms in case I end up picking up rubbish in Kelvingrove Park for it!
  7. Graham Spiers was a "witness" of the Justice Committee. That says all you need to know about it really!
  8. The student tickets had to be bought in person with a currently valid matric card (sorry 26th!), so you wouldn't be able to buy online. Saying that you're right that there is no mention of student discount for the hibs game
  9. I'm sure you all get the emails from the club about buying your ticket for the next home game... But for the Killie game a few weeks back I noted that they were (finally) offering student discount. I say finally as a course mate got a student discount on his season ticket for another Glasgow club. Anyway, turned out I got the use of my supervisors ticket, but I went along to the game with 2 mates from uni (one a Gers fan and another a Hammers fan) and must say it was fantastic value at £12 per student ticket! Cheaper than a game at Firhill the West Ham fan noted! Not sure if this was just because it was a midweek game, or a trial, but a very good move either way. This sort of thing will always encourage new fans visiting Glasgow for university so hats off to the club. I just hope it was not a one off for the occassions I don't get my boss's season book! (anyone know where to find the clubs policy on this?)
  10. I do think that there are 4-2 many GoianFacts going around for poor wee Lennon to cope with...
  11. Pat Nevin currently saying the clubs should be doing what Rangers HAVE been doing... where's he been? Don't deflect these issues? That should be aimed at Peter Lawell and surely not Rangers Football Club!
  12. Anyone else watching? Who is this Sunderland fan guy? I assume he won't be welcomed at any civic reception at George Sq any time soon... Finally, a neutral talking sense!
  13. Speirs is an embarrassment! "Do you get what I'm trying to say" Well no. You've just talked around a question in a manner even a politician would be embarrassed about.
  14. That's good to hear, but I think most peoples concern is what is "silly money"?
  15. Very good! I chose the word "target" as I was alluding to our successful summer so far. And those have only been the players we've heard about. You're right about the managers though. Some good and bad times in there!
  16. Surely, if you were to consider a new manager (which I'm not) Davies wouldn't be at the top of the list? Mind you, when would have been the last time we got our first choice target...?!
  17. I was disheartened after the teams performance on Sunday on the back of the European disaster. This is not doing anything to make me feel any better. Another Cuellar? So much potential; so little time to enjoy.
  18. After seeing Bannan for Scotland duty, I would bite their hand off, especially at that price! Phenomenal young Scottish player who has the potential to be a key player for the national side for the best part of a decade. Would not have expected this type of story!
  19. Not even quotation marks to distinguish between what they are saying, and what Maribor are meant to be saying...
  20. Did we not go through all of this with Goian? Well not quite, but a remarkably similar process, and we were proven to be correct! Not the sort of thing a regular club would do that won the game regardless...
  21. As wrong as it's going to feel, Alex is right...! However, it's more the Hearts/Dundee Utd's/Queen of the South's that have been causing the problem!
  22. The individual clubs will retain their good(ish) coefficients. The national coefficient going down will mean more qualifiers for us and celtic, but we should be seeded well above them and would be expected to beat them. What this will do is remove the poorer scottish clubs dragging the coefficient down as I believe that only Aberdeen have pulled their weight in national contributions. I did some charts last year to demonstrate where the "old firm" would be vs "non-old firm" teams and compared that with where Scotland actually is. Rangers and Celtic would be one of the top 4 or 5 I'm sure it was. Overall I'd say it's bad news, but every cloud and all that...
  23. What odds on Goian for first scorer?!
