  1. Didn't know if it was a pessimistic rangers view (know plenty of fans with that philosophy) or a jealous Tim. Don't really follow the journos but will take your word for it.
  2. This will be due to private leanings from most likely the SPL/SFA, I have no doubt about it. The club NEED to be seen to be doing this, otherwise the "powers" WILL dock points. We've seen what influence can be had over the SFA this year already. Celtic seem desperate to win our title, and have shown in the past they don't mind cheating to get it. The fact that its ok to replace the B with a K if you're a Kilmarnock fan is preposterous, and needs to be addressed. Iif a level headed, objective Rangers man couldn't bring that attitude in after heading the SFA, I am fearful of what will happen. If we want to play football within the Scottish league/UEFA jurisdiction, we need to (sadly) play by there rules. It is shocking that we sit in this position, but because of the pressure we are under, we cannot point the finger at others without the "powers" and to some extent the non-football following public thinking its just our way of deflecting. Don't think for a second that I'm not angry that it is just Rangers that are getting persecuted for offensive singing, I mean someone using the F word is offensive to some people yet tolerated. But I want to win the SPL's league, so if singing a song jeopardises the attempt, I will refrain from singing it (at Rangers games) and plead with others to do the same.
  3. To be fair, he does seem to hit on some home truths. A typically dour, negative, Scottish attitude to Rangers. He seems to forget that any player we do seem to get that is capable of playing this attacking open football gets cherry picked by teams with vast amounts of money at there disposal. He's not wrong, but one paragraph to comment on the state of the other teams is doing Rangers a disservice. This guys glass is most definitely half empty - but sometimes that is needed so that we strive for better?
  4. PR exercise gentlemen. I hear folk complain when we don't do anything to improve our image... I know the words are "no one likes us; we don't care" but not the best attitude to take. My main gripe is I think the logo on the blue looks shite!
  5. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2010/10/27/police-called-as-gang-of-thugs-lay-siege-to-home-of-celtic-star-anthony-stokes-86908-22661385/ The balancing story. If this is true, it is utterly shameful. Those people disgust and embarrass me.
  6. See Craig's post above... if you still think I'm "tripping" look up facetious...
  7. Wasn't that late... He clearly made an attempt to get the ball and just missed... (of course, the ball is not even in frame despite him not making contact yet...) Ref gave a yellow, so that's that. Done and dusted.
  8. sectarian abuse towards a referee that was perceived to have given a decision against celtic who just happens to be a religious studies teacher at a catholic school? The above point aside, that is disgraceful. I feel ashamed when football gets this type of coverage, no matter where it comes from. Good luck Collum.

I'd need drugs too if a relation of Super_Ally's was cutting my hair...
  10. If the guy has any integrity at all, and I hope he does, he will be well aware of how his background will be perceived. It may work in our favour that he will be trying so hard to be impartial, that he may swing the other way. Maybe I'm being hopelessly naive here, but if I was a referee and had to officiate a gers game I would probably be more aware of how I couldn't give borderline decisions our way...
  11. I like that it's true though... struggle against everyone else, yet good against the OF, its bizarre! Was alot more stable and consistent under the 2 Jimmy's, who never got appreciated, much the same as wee chesney across the city! My highlight of trips to Aberdeen games has to be when Novo took a looping shot, all the Aberdeen fans gave it the "waaaaaayyy!!" thinking he'd fluffed it, only for it to loop over langfield and land in the back of the net! It was priceless!
  12. I hate Aberdeen. Maybe more than the average bear due to where I was raised... But they have had one or two results against Celtic in recent years... Last season they drew 4-4, the season before they won 4-2, and the season before that they drew a cup game 1-1 all up north, while they won the cup replay at parkhead. I also recall a game they got 2 late goals in to win at parkhead 3-2 I think it was, as well as being robbed a draw in during the title run in when a goal got chopped off for a "foul" in the box. Aberdeen have not won at Ibrox in 12 years now, is it? I reitterate, I hate Aberdeen. They have had a questionable number of drubbings off the green and gray. They have a hatred towards us which is probably stronger than most Tims. But for the sake of sounding balanced, I think its well worth pointing this out. :: ducks under desk for cover::
  13. Most enjoyable media article in a long time! Thanks!!
  14. I much prefer it that we wear the blue whenever we can. My grandpa always used to think we played worse in our change kit, and there have been far too many strange results in my memory to disagree (superstitious selective memory i know!). It might be nice, but should be saved for if we ever play a team who's home colours are blue and red e.g. Basle. Will wait to see a proper pic with the rest of the kit before making a decision on the kit though!
  15. No, I don't expect people to stay sober, I myself had a few beers despite having one of my hardest finals at strathclyde uni the next day at 9.30, but I saw people walking around at 10 in the morning with crates of 24... each!! I think that rangers fans get far too hard a time for all this, but I still find that sort of behaviour embarrassing, no matter who the group is. Maybe I'm just a bit of a snob, but I do sometimes feel ashamed to be associated with certain fans, will never stop me loving rangers, but will maybe mean I avoid certain situation with certain fans... As much b.s. as it is, this is all the club are doing, to save us the fans and the club any embarrassment and potential ramifications... It's not as if we don't have people waiting to stick the knife in!
  16. This the NI u21 player? Saw this on the BBC window thingy... Apparently signed for Werder Bremen I think!
  17. Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets embarassed by some of the behaviour of some fans... being drunk is not an excuse!
  18. anyone got the stats of the sheep playing at Ibrox handy?
