  1. Oh yes. I thought that within minutes of his debut as a sub at Firrhill when he hoofed the ball up into the stand. Sometimes that’s what needs to happen.
  2. Let’s hope 26th is right. Let’s hope Defoe plays, scores at least once and comes off uninjured. I have a memory, not too distant, of a fairly prominent Glasgow club going to Kilmarnock after the break with a new star striker, successful,in the EPL. The signing had just won them the league, apparently. The new guy didn’t score and Kilmarnock won easily. A similar fate will not befall a much more prominent Glasgow club, will it?
  3. I wont until I’m assured it’s on the table.
  4. North East bookies dancing in the streets.
  5. Some game at Molineux. Wolves 4, Leicester 3.
  6. I’d like to have a dog in that fight. Nothing against Ayr but I’ll go with Talbot. ”Play up, you Auchinleck fellows.” That’s what you sophisticated southerners shout at the game, isn’t it?
  7. I don’t think many geordies would call it interesting.
  8. Wolves 1-2 Leicester (Boo) Bournemouth 1-3 Hammers Liverpool 4-0 Palace Unted 3-0 Brighton Newcastle 0-1Cardiff Southampton 2-1 Everton Watford 2-0 Burnley Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea Town 0-5 City Fulham 0-3 Hotspurs
  9. Baillie John F. Wilson’s bowler.
  10. They’re thinking of Southgate, apparently. No success in club management. No success with England, either, unless success is defined as avoiding embarrassment in which case he was successful.
  11. I don’t listen to or watch much of BBC Scotland but on the odd occasion that I’ve seen him, Brewer has spoken intelligently and conducted his broadcast well. What must it be like for him to share a studio with Haggerty?

    Where's Connor

    An unpleasant winter illness.
  13. That was rehearsed. Still good, though.
  14. Arsenal will win in London. Brighton will not score against Liverpool. Fulham will astonish the world with a victory amidst the dark satanic mills. Cardiff will beat Town. Palace and Watford will draw. So will Leicester and So’ton. Blues will torture the Magpies. Everton may condescend to actually win a game v Bournemouth. The Hotspurs will burst the United bubble. City will be hunted down by Wolves (dream) Gribz has got it right (reality)
  15. Scott, White, St John, Law and Wilson. Fairly decent front line.
  16. Nope. Won that long ago.
  17. Note “”Ready” on Bobby’s badge.
  18. The Lion Heart is 80 years old today. Many happy returns to the hero.
  19. Liverpool seconds beaten by the Wolves. Much as I like Wolves, Liverpool’s first XI would probably have won fairly comfortably without putting too much strain on the players.
  20. Aye, but the medals were awarded when the recipients were at other clubs. Never mind. They’re oor medals noo..
  21. May be about to play his last game for Chelsea before joining Henri at Monaco. His plea to celtic “to come and bring hm to Glasgow” must have been ignored. I’m sure he asked, didn’t he?
  22. I don’t entirely agree about Gordon. He may be A grade reptilian now but for a few years he was an excellent broadcaster. I have no problem with an Aberdeen boy supporting his local team. Brought up to hate Rangers he didn’t show it, in fact, he seemed to be a great admirer of David Murray when he was at the height of his powers. But you can’t work in pollution without becoming contaminated yourself. “Sebo Night” was the turning point when he read out the infamous text. In fairness he did ask the programme producer for permission but the die was cast that night and his professional veneer was removed to reveal the the unacceptable face of of sneering bias. I wonder who was the producer and who wrote the text?
  23. So, all this has joost wunnus the league, eh?
