.... Ms Clare Whyte, Procurator Fiscal Depute. Suggestions on another board of previous appointment at Harper McLeod and post-graduate study at Notre Dame University, Indiana. That doesn’t worry me (yet) but HM? Experience of grassroots football, apparently. Why does this appointment have to be a lawyer?

Outstanding game on the card but three interesting ones are the Wolves at Leicester - avoiding defeat would be good - and the Everton and Liverpool games. Everton might be ready at last and the likes of Palace had a habit of upsetting Liverpool in recent times but I have the feeling that Liverpool have added iron to class.

Who did the voiceover? I never heard Mr Struth speak but I imagine his delivery would have been more measured.

Should there be a Talksport Musings thread? It’s not the rich vein that PQ is. Brazil is a sellick man and makes no attempt to hide it but he’s not unfair. White purports to be neutral and effusively praises celtic to prove it. I don’t think he’s been turned. His problem is hysteria which I doubt is curable.

Ah well. No Parkhead euro-glory night for PSG this season.

Got it non-stop but only after becoming manager. -

My recollection is that Rangers supporters are inclusive moaners. I still hear the cries from more than half a century ago. “Ach, you, Baxter.” “Wilson, ya diddy.” Yes, even them. -
Rangers are a Glasgow club, are they not? I’m grateful to Glaswegian supporters for allowing outlanders like me to tag along.

If Hazard leaves, United will be third. Everton, anyone?

Better, perhaps, the Legion’s other refrain: “Le diable marche avec nous”

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

John may be a Welsh international but he wasn’t a very good defender. No other club was interested in signing either him or Windass so if you want to sell, you have accept the price offered. The alternative is to keep them, pay their wages and because they aren’t good enough to play, see their value drop and sell for less next January. -
He did but not as the main chap. Scored a good few free kicks from distance.

On FF there is an appeal by the Secretary of RSEA for assistance with the cost of Mr Davis’ funeral. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/hd4

The fourth official should be isolated during the match, should he not?

I think my keelie derivation was a speculation by Jack House rather than a proven fact. Sounds right, though. Barisic will need to know this when he’s chasing down enemy wingers.

Not Kellys but ghillies or a corruption thereof. Glesca bobbies in the old days were usually big Highland stirks -and Presbyterian, gaelic speaking strirks at that. So when they were hailing malefactors to stop what they were doing they would shout “hey, ghillie” (“hey, fellow”) Just be thankful the bobbies weren’t recruited from the north-east. They would have been shouting “hey, loon”. Better Glesca keelies than Glesca looneys.

“Weegie” is an Embra word is it not? I was brought up to call my Glesca relations ”keelies”

Rangers supporters are too busy with their employment or running their own businesses to have time for politics. -
That’s not a Windsor. I’m assuming the photo is from yesterday. I’m relieved about that because in an all inclusive, best wee country in the world you must be excluded from knotting your tie in a germanic, royalist way causing offence to millions

Billy Dodds - yes, Billy Dodds - calls Gerrard naive. Tadpole criticises shark.

Imperial Bears may have a point to make but it would be better condensed into a four sentence paragraph.
