  1. "After seriously considering sacking the player, Hughes and Craig handed out the maximum fine of two weeks' wages and ordered him to assist with Falkirk's community programmes. " Community programmes that clearly didn't include a Zumba class
  2. Word to that goalie: Chuck a salad in there, mate.
  3. If you start a building on faulty foundations, at some point you have to rip it down and start again - and there's no point at all restarting the job until the foundations have been sorted out.
  4. Losing a goal to that shower of part-timers and second-raters! There will be some serious questions asked in the Peterhead dressing room after that!
  5. Can we put a few growing myths to bed here? Green did not *stand up for us* or *fight our corner* or anything of the like. Green fought his own corner and did what he had to do to make as much money for himself as he could; He did nothing for Rangers and everything for himself; if the two happened to coincide, so much the better. Second, far from being treated shamefully, he has been given the opportunity to resign with dignity before he was sacked for gross misconduct. It was clear to anyone who wanted to see that Green was finished last Saturday and if the board had wanted to, they could have fired him there and then leaving him without a face. Green got hold of the club at our lowest point for the sort of money the Largs lottery winners spend on a summer holiday for their friends - and it is far from clear how exactly he manged to get the club in the first place, he's going to make a packet from us and we have no idea how much that is going to be yet; so let's not feel sorry for someone who has only ever acted in their own interest, possibly -if the pessimists are to be believed - at our great expense.
  6. Aye, that was me - last September; full post below/ " We're all heartily sick of the SPL and the mood amongst is is to have nothing more to do with them. But we want to play a decent level of football; so what to do? We could start our own league. Seriously, bear with me. start a new league, call it the National League; invite some SPL teams (Killie, Well, Hearts, Dundee and Ross County and ICT) and a group from the 1st Div and play a 12 team league with a split as at present. The remaining dross could play in the Scottish League - or they could call it the Keltic League, since they're all in bed with them anyway. Divs 2 and 3 become regional leagues North and South, Winners of each region go into the NL or the SL. Winners of the SL and NL play off three games at the end of the season to decide the Championship and thus Champions league spot, runner up into Uefa cup if we only have one CL spot; 2+3rd place teams in each league play off for Uefa cup spots. " It's basically a variation on Major League Baseball, albeit much, much smaller in scale. It allows more teams more chances of playing *for* something for longer in the season, thereby creating and sustaining fan interest. Play-offs for European places mean that instead of 4 teams having an interest, you could have 4 teams in two leagues having an interest right up until the final week or weeks of the season. It's the way to go. Trust me, I'm a doctor.
  7. the only thing stopping Lennon being the complete article is a bottle of Buckfast and a tattoo across his fingers spelled HTAE
  8. Re-signing Miller could be an excellent move in terms of bringing through the younger players - and I can see him begin the move into coaching with us as well. Miller is, along with Davie Weir *the* perfect example of a model professional. Not only that, but he was with us twice when we were sweeping the boards, so he knows what's required from a Rangers player. If he helps instill the correct manner into the younger players his value will be much more than any goals he scores against Stennie or Alloa.
  9. In other words, when *we* go into administration because of the actions of a crook, (and one that was deemed by officialdom to be a 'fit and proper person'), then the full weight of the footballing law is brought to punish us as severely as was legally possible -and indeed more, since they made up a few punishments of their own just for good measure. "That'll be a£60 fine and three points on your license for speeding sir. Oh, and because you're a Rangers fan, we'll shoot your dog, too." However, when the self-same dregs, that couldn't stab us in the back quickly enough, have to go into administration not because of the actions of a single carpetbagging crook, but because of their own mismanagement of their own clubs, then they can't change the entire system fast enough to save themselves. An utterly boak-inducing shower of morality-free slimeballs, so they are.
  10. This is as close to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic as it is possible to get without getting your feet wet.
  11. As John Stewart would say: BOOM!
  12. There is hidden meaning in everything for everyone - but not everyone is aware of that. Individuals are occassionally, although rarely, completely open and honest. Groups of individuals are never so.
  13. Now, here's a wee thought. If you were to name the SPL clubs most likely to be involved in a relegation struggle in any normal SPL year, St Mirren and RossC would have to be two of your most likely candidates. If you were to name two SPL clubs who live most within their means and are among the more financially secure, StMirren and Rossc would have to be among them. It would not take a great leap of the imagination therefore to see how it would be in the best interests of both those cubs to see the more badly run and indebted of their colleagues forced into poverty, and with it a slide to the bottom of the league and annual relegation dogfights among them. In the meantime, STM and RossC, having more money to spend on better players than the others, can consolidate their positions as permanent SPL clubs.
  14. hmmm, they were fairly quiet about it hitherto. So it's almost as if somebody in the know in the Ibrox boardroom told their biggest sponsor a wee bit of inside info on Green, i.e he's toast, and Tennents have decided to do a bit of public grandstanding.
  15. Possibly the biggest laugh in a very comical afternoon is the fact that Aberdeen refused to join the other clubs in changing the 11-1 majority requirement, stabbing every other club in the back. Talk about chickens coming home to roost! Pittodrie must be like Colonel Sanders' ranch tonight.
  16. Properly coached kids, properly brought through to deliver a top quality product at rock bottom prices. Simples.
  17. is that Martin McGuiness talking to Walter Smith?
  18. nice to see that it's not just Rangers fans who are whining, ungrateful, malcontents
  19. I look forward to revisiting this post once Green has been removed at which time you can clarify which parts were farcical.
  20. That seals it for me. Green is a goner. "Knowing one or two of the board members really well, they want an end to this whole scenario." Translation: Walter and the other Rangers guys want Green out. "I'm really confident in those board members and what they did today and I'm really confident in the future once the commission finds out the results." Translation: These are real Rangers men and once they get rid of Green, we can move on. "I do sense, quite rightly, that they are getting a little bit frustrated that the whole thing isn't out in the open, that the truth isn't there for everybody to see" Translation: The fans smell a rat and want something done about it. "They deserve the truth. They deserve to know what's been happening behind the scenes at their club." Translation: There has been skullduggery afoot and we'll be blowing the whistle once we have put the evidence together. "I do detect a greater frustration from within them and I do understand it and, I take it a step further, I agree with it." Translation: There's no way Green could continue to employ me after me saying something like that - but, bovverd? Nah, Green's gone and I'm staying.
  21. I don't, for a second, believe that Walter would sign off on a statement that said there is to be an investigation when, in fact, there was none. The lies and misinformation have been coming entirely from one faction in the boardroom (the ones that are in this for themselves) and yesterday the other faction (the one that's in it for the club) made itself heard for the first time, I believe.
  22. On the one hand, it's a fair punishment and no reasonable person could disagree with it. On the other hand, think of all the months of fun we'd be denying ourselves at STB's expense once Green does get hoofed.
  23. Not necessarily. They could turn up sufficient evidence or strong circumstantial evidence to make up their minds that Green has to go. Remember, this is not a criminal case, so the burden of proof is far less. Or it could simply be that they want to hold the inquiry in order to be seen to have crossed the ts and dotted the 'i's before they get rid of him.
  24. In other words, you are saying that Walter will sell the fans down the river just to keep Green happy.
