What the hell happened to their keeper at the second goal?
-
I'm not so sure, Zappa - for example, were this to make a good start and attract some "big name" players/ex-players advocating it as the way forward....it could happen. It's only 50p per day . I'd rather give that to Rangers than a newspaper. It's a pint or two (depending on where you live) a week fewer. Seems worth it to me.

I'm hopeful and prepared to contribute.

Not that I believe it, but, anyway: http://asia.eurosport.com/football/spl/2011-2012/gattuso-considering-rangers-coaching-job_sto4133511/story.shtml He had already played for the club in 1997-98 and his wife is Scottish. The Italian newspaper claims Gattuso is considering the next step in his management career in Glasgow with the Rangers side he never stopped caring about. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport also maintains he has already received an offer to take over, but turned it down. Rino retired from playing last year and aged 36 he has had brief spells as player-manager of Swiss club Sion and Coach of Serie B team Palermo. He was sacked after just six Serie B games in charge of the Sicilian side. Glasgow Rangers are in the Scottish League One after bankruptcy.

I was dreading a waiter asking "Any greens with that, sir>"...

Highly unlikely I will be able to get to Glasgow in the middle of working week but I;ll keep an eye on things and if I can, would love to.

That was a pleasant read. I'm not used to that from Scottiish papers

Rangers captain Lee McCulloch feels his team could be on the verge of a special season as they chase silverware on three fronts. Rangers set up an Ibrox William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-final against Albion Rovers with a 4-0 win over Dunfermline on Friday, the team they lead by 23 points at the top of League One. Ally McCoist's team also have a Ramsdens Cup final against Raith Rovers to look forward to on April 6 and McCulloch, who recently claimed Rangers deserved more credit for their record this season, is desperate for any silverware. "It's a good chance to put a cup run together," said McCulloch, who was promoting the club's quarter season tickets. "We are in another cup final, that a lot of people have forgotten about, and we are doing very well in the league, if you are looking at the stats. "We have a chance as players, management, to have a very, very successful season. "Scottish Cup, league, Ramsdens Cup, any success you have got to grab with two hands. "When you are playing at a club like this, you are judged on success and what you win. You are not judged on the amount of appearances you have. It's all about 'What have you won'?" McCulloch recently argued there was a "very thin line" between League One and the Scottish Premiership and he feels the cup action, with only three top-flight teams having booked their place in the last eight so far, has vindicated him. "Yes, it does," he said. "I think that was blown out of proportion slightly. "What I was saying was that there wasn't as big a gap as people were making out from some of the SPL teams to the so-called lower-league teams. "I didn't insinuate anything about Celtic. What I meant was maybe the bottom six of the SPL." And McCulloch feels League Cup finalists Aberdeen should be considered favourites ahead of Rangers, despite the Ibrox club's bigger budget. "You've got to look at Aberdeen, already in a cup final and doing really, really well this season. So, for me, you would probably say Aberdeen. We know what we have got to do. We have a chance to progress and that's all it is. "I'm delighted to get a home tie but it's going to be a difficult game. "They've got a good manager and a decent team and no doubt they will make it difficult for us. It's a game we definitely don't think we have won already." http://sport.bt.com/sportfootball/football/scottishfootball/scottishpremierleague/treble-chance-delights-mcculloch-S11363875143069

Rangers Youth @RFC_Youth 2m 50' - GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL! It's 1-0 to Rangers as Jamie Burrows breaks the deadlock to give the visitors a deserved lead at Balmoor 50' - Burrows was played in & despite a heavy first touch, he stayed composed as he rounded keeper Rogers and poked into the empty net. 1-0!

I look forward to hearing what is proposed in Friday's meeting. I hope it is listened to with open minds that then calmly think and discuss its merits as a way forward for fan involvement in the club and that everyone then proceeds on the basis of what is best for Rangers FC*, regardless of past personal feuds or years of dedicated service to other schemes, because what is important is to get a scheme moving forward at speed to save Rangers - nothing else is remotely important in comparison. *Sadly this is more in hope than expectation vis-a-vis the on-line communities, but out there amongst the bulk of fans (who know little or nothing about all the internecine nonsense and care less) perhaps, just perhaps...

I believe that is correct. Or maybe, slightly different = the special dispensation would come from Uefa but the SFA would have to petition for this on our behalf. (I say SFA as I suspect it is their jurisdiction - they'd have to be involved, at least, as the cup is their tournament.) Please note, this is just what an ageing memory suggests to me - I've no firm knowledge and would welcome firmer news from one who knows.

He couldn't buy us out then, he was legally barred from doing so; in any case our future was guaranteed when WHyte got to appoint D&P - only Spiv-pals would be allowed in. Since then he's said he'll only buy shares or invest money that goes to the club. If he buys shares now they go into Spivs pockets - and the people who put their stooges in place, who are probably on a cut/still raking it in from the background... ============================================ Here's the article, courtesy of FF: DAVE KING has revealed he’s had no contact with Rangers despite repeated offers to invest in the crisis-torn club. Tycoon King also warned Gers cash reserves are now at a ‘critical level’ with the Ibrox board in a desperate race to secure funding. Two months after revealing to SunSport he would be prepared to re-invest in Rangers, King confirmed there has been no approach. He said: ‘As a fan I am very concerned about the lack of a transparent funding plan to communicate to the fans prior to requesting them to renew season ticket sales. ‘There is not much time for the board to give assurances in that regard.’ Johannesburg-based King, 52, is still willing to plough his cash into Gers, but admits he can’t force chief executive Graham Wallace to take his money. Without investment, Rangers are expected to run out of cash next month. Asked if he had held talks with Wallace or had plans to meet the Ibrox CEO, King added: ‘No. Mr Wallace has no obligation to approach me. ‘The board may secure funding from other sources.’ It’s King’s understanding Wallace is close to completing a formulated business plan designed to drive Gers forward. But King believes a new share issue is likely. He said: ‘I recognised from my visit last November that the board needed to get the AGM behind them, and then to focus on operational issues and putting a proper funding plan in place. ‘My understanding is this is either complete or nearly complete. ‘Rangers need funding and debt funding cannot be a viable long term option to meet the club’s on-going needs. In my opinion a new round of equity funding remains inevitable.’ King has urged Wallace to make his plans known to the long-suffering Ibrox support as soon as possible. He stressed: ‘If a sensible business and financial plan has been completed then Rangers may have gone forward, but there has been no communication of this at present. ‘Clearly, the passage of time since the AGM has reduced the cash reserves to a critical level.’ It’s understood Wallace and Gers’ finance director Philip Nash have been on several trips to London in a bid to secure potential investors. But after £22 million was wiped from the club’s initial IPO last year, the city remain sceptical. King warned: ‘City investors will not have an appetite unless they are happy with the business plan and the funding plan, as well as the quality of the underlying assets. ‘I would imagine Craig Whyte’s rumblings will also be a factor as city investors don’t like legal risk or contingent liabilities. ‘Personally, I think Whyte has zero chance of advancing his position successfully.’

Ally McCoist: I'd have bet on Ibrox not being picked for League Cup final
SteveC replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
probably scared to mention his association with us again. They did in a game recently and referred to him as a favourite. the presenter's face when he later indicated towards messages he'd got correcting that idea spoke volumes for their quantity and content!- 90 replies

Timz are raging. Saying it is all a fix. The best being that "they should cancel all the games and just hand the trophy" to us. Odd that they decreed the final would be at Septic's ground if they wanted to guarantee a Rangers success, I 'd have thought. Oh and the professional bigot, Hell Haggerty, tweets: ""If Rangers won the Scottish Cup we'd have a competition that two different clubs with the same name have won. That happened anywhere else?""
