Has Ally really got the club at heart?
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to Gazza_8's topic in Rangers Chat
Warnock plays poor football and isn't a great manager but I'd certainly take him over Ally or another dire manager like McLeish. In terms of realistic Scottish managers I'd give Davies or McInnes a go. Would be great to see a decent foreign manager and coaching staff but it's a nice dream.- 130 replies

C****c in top 40 of world football earners list
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
I'm pretty sure both us and them count season tickets as part of the attendance whether they turn up or not. -
Wallace as a centre back with McKay and Aird having to play as wing backs? No thanks. Ally has enough problems without adding 3 at the back to the equation. It is very rarely successful in modern football.

I can relate to your 12 year old. After 10 minutes I end up concentrating more on my laptop than the TV. Watching us is extremely challenging and I derive no pleasure out of it.

Easdale brothers to plough £20m into Rangers

It's not a great ratio against part-time opposition. We should be stockpiling cash for the future.- 74 replies

Andy Mitchell contract terminated "by mutual consent"
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Gallagher is less than 3 years younger than Bell. He is hardly going to be his long term replacement. I'd be surprised if he has any future at the club. Also, we have 3 keepers in our first team squad. -

The strange thing is I know simplythebest is an intelligent lad. His absurd love for Green and all things wrong with our club is just bizarre.- 74 replies

We need 5 keepers if we are to have 5 teams though! -

Football clubs are not normal businesses and the CEO is a very different position. Making wage reductions to the whole squad is a very significant thing that should have been proposed by Wallace himself. You would think we might have learned the last time our Chief Exec didn't talk directly to the players about their contracts.- 74 replies

Swallowing toxic jack's load? I think he's an arse hole and don't trust anyone involved in running our club. My point still stands that costs need cut. Both playing staff and non playing staff. I think anyone with a functioning brain can see that. The only way such high expenditure would be worthwhile is if it was being spent largely on young talent and on players that can hit the ground running and challenge for trophies the season after next. This just isn't the case and we are spending a fortune and only have a couple of players that have any real tangible value.- 74 replies

The fact remains that at 18 he was evaluated as being good enough to have a future with us. Then almost 3 years later, with hardly any first team football, he gets punted. -

Whilst all that maybe true, the fact remains that the players are earning far too much and costs need drastically cut. We have more professional footballers on our payroll than Celtic do.- 74 replies

Maxwell was terrible. Can recall him playing for us in a defeat v Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Think Shearer and Jess scored for them. That was the first of our matches I ever went to. -

I think there is more chance of Craig Whyte investing his 'billions' into us, than those crooks investing £20m in us. They are not worth anything near that let alone would they ever have such disposable income.- 74 replies

This is what really annoys me. We keep the likes of Gallagher, Loy, Little, McMillan etc well into being 22/23/24 with hardly any exposure. Then usually release them for nothing or even pay them off, wasting years of wages. Fair enough Little gets game time now, but that's only really out of necessity and he's hardly going to have much of a long term future with us. I reckon we keep about 95% of our youth players just to fill up numbers and have absolutely no intention of doing anything with them. Andrew Shinnie as well. Kept him until 21 and played him once or twice. What the hell is that about? We seem to think players in their 20's are 17 year olds? The horrible irony with Shinnie being he went on to score left, right and centre for ICT, including against us and now plays in the championship. he's actually one of the few good players we have produced. What did we make out of him? Nada. As I've said countless times on here we should be integrating all youth players long before 21 and getting rid if not good enough. I don't think the coaching staff would have a clue if a young player was a player and us developing one is through sheer chance. -

Why keep him for so long then? Scott Gallagher is another strange one. The guy is almost 25 and has played barely a handful of matches. I know keepers peak a bit later, but it's pretty bizarre to be honest. If he's good enough, he should have been getting much more exposure a long time ago. If not with us then at a a club in the SPL or first division. Or lower English leagues. If he isn't getting a look in now, he isn't ever. We don't seem to be keeping him for backup and we certainly won't be keeping him to make money out of him because it's guaranteed we won't make any. He will leave when his contract expires or he will get paid off. -

People on facebook talking about 'if it is true'. And maybe The Easdales and King can get together with all their money and save us. Cringe. The Easdales are a pair of crooked wankers that will take plenty out of us and put very little if anything in.- 74 replies

I'm sure he's wonderful. I'm not one for the old pals act, but or fucks sake Goram is probably one of a handful of arguably world class players to play for us in the past 20-30 years so why not give him a shot -

I made a joke about that in my original post. Then I quickly reflected on the happy childhood memories he gave me, and thought how much of a legend he is compared to the useless cunts that have inundated our club since, and thought better of it -

He is one of the standout players in my life time and I would far rather have his input with our keepers than the idiots we currently have in our coaching staff. Does Gordon Durie still work for us? I wonder what the fuck he would have to offer? I would happily have Goram training our keepers and passing on some of his world class knowledge.
