We are on enough! http://www.live-footballontv.com/

I think 1 great game in 6 is being very, very generous to Edu. I recall him playing well against Valencia at Ibrox (despite an own goal) but I don't recall many more standouts.

I'm definitely not talking about that match mate because that was a great achievement. I'm talking about this one http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/9404968.stm Thought both teams looked terrible and you can see from the match stats we hugely rode our luck. We were so poor in that game that I was close to switching off the TV. We were very poor against PSV in the next round. Gregg Wylde had a few games where he actually looked like a quality player, the second leg was one of them. TWB is trying to claim that was a successful European campaign for us. Getting to the last 16 of the Europa League with a huge dose of luck does not equate to a successful European campaign for me. We should be getting there as a bare minimum, with a realistic goal of reaching the last 16 in the CL most seasons.

He quite possibly plays the worst football I have ever seen. Probably worse than Tony Pulis, Sam Allardyce and Joe Kinnear combined.

We knocked out a terrible Sporting side that neither team deserved to win.

TWB, I know you from RM. You defend the indefensible to troll people. Whether you actually believe what you are saying I don't know. But you talk a lot of nonsense.
-
I'm aware it was during his first spell. Gothenburg were such a crack team that they went into the group stage and finished bottom. We had 2 good European campaigns under Smith in 11 seasons

I think you are confusing comfortable wins with good football. You can win a game 4-0 against a poor side and still play very little good football. Ally will be found out when we are back at the top (or possibly even next season). You will still find some way of defending him then though as I can imagine you were the type of diehard defending Eck when we finished third in the league.

Also got regularly gubbed by shite teams like Gothenburg, Unirea etc.

The 2013/14 Midseason Transfer Thread
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Boyd is completely useless against any half decent defence. He was never going to succeed at international level. Fletcher has scored 50 goals in England, mainly in the BPL. Boyd was a complete failure in the championship.- 64 replies

Scored goals yes but I've seen little evidence of us playing 'lovely stuff'. Let's be honest TWB, you and a few of the remaining blind faith loyal will back Ally no matter how unbearable it gets. You said on RM that you don't care how we play as nobody watches us to be entertained.

Edu is terrible. Ness had potential but his career is ruined due to injuries. Going to the BPL where he was never going to get any game time was a really bad idea for a playing needing regular games to get his fitness.
-
If that's real then it's pretty worrying that someone so ignorant is involved in running us. My 5 year old nephew probably has a better command of the English language. 'dose'. 'you's'

Quite amazing to see supposedly successful business men writing in barely legible English. They are obviously poorly educated. Mind you, I spoke to Frank Blin via PM on Linkedin and his English was very poor too.

Ally McCoist: I'm not worried about being forced to sell stars
Ser Barristan Selmy replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think we have quite a clear idea of what is going on. I also think if we had someone like Brian Laudrup doing some scouting for us, we would be hearing all about it. I don't see the point in us saying anything to the press about our players unless it is to say none are for sale, which isn't something I can ever recall us saying, but the tims seem to have said it a lot. -
If you score goals then you are good enough, it's that simple. If Miller was good enough he would have got more chances in the BPL and would have scored goals there. Miller was championship level.

?? To be honest, it was great getting to the UEFA Cup final but we made no attempt to win it, getting to it was a freak event much like Greece in Euro 2000 and I really don't think such negative football should ever be respected.

For a handful of games in the 10/11 season. Aside from that it was dreadful. Other than those games the only game I remember us playing good football in was an away win at Easter Road where we played 4-3-3 with Cousin through the middle and Naismith and Burke supporting.

All very true. So why is everyone on here getting so uptight about what the DR said? Or it it just a case of looking to be offended?

I think it goes beyond Ally not being anyone's 'style of manager'. To me he is grossly incompetent to the point where I'm not sure he has the talent to manage at any level at all. I'm not entirely sure he'd be good enough to coach someone like St Mirren. I think it's just not the industry he should be in. I thought McLeish was the worst manager on the planet but I've changed my mind.

Were you happy with the football played under Walter though?

Not because it's not deserved, but because Walter played terrible football too but nobody really seemed to care. It used to annoy me that people had such a short sighted view under Walter. The football he played was never going to get us anywhere in Europe (bar 2 successful seasons over both stints, the second success due to playing 10 defenders in the UEFA Cup) and while it won domestic trophies, it wasn't the type of long term philosophy that was going to see the club prosper, without throwing money at players. In Walter's first stint we hardly developed any youth talent and he left the squad in a mess. Is it the case that the football is so poor now that nobody can ignore it any more? Or is it because we are playing such poor opposition now? The common line under Walter was that winning is all that matters. Well we are still doing that.
