I'll second that. Despite the negatives (team selection, tactics, etc, there's no other man I'd rather have as our manager given what's happening off the field.

I switched off the radio as it was putting me off my dinner. Logged in here and we've scored. Won't be switching back on. Supersticious loyal!

Agreed. Although I would point out that my reasons for disliking him are not because of the team he supports or the faith he subscribes to. The cynic in me suspects his motives may be along the lines andy_steel suggests but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

*Latest Rangers Statement*, From London Stock Exchange
stewarty replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
Typical tabloid sensationalism preying on the fact that we, the fans, don't know the full story and therefore speculating wildly. Trouble is, for them, with so much happening in such a short space of time, they've been caught out. -
I'm far from a fan of Jim Murphy but welcome his intervention

Couldn't agree more. The win v Macedonia and the performance v Holland merely served to paper over the cracks. Amazing how quickly so many people forgot about the Norway performance.

Some ex-gers on the first page. Michael Ball, Seb Rozenthal, Brahim Hemdani...

Can't say I was too impressed. As Juffery texted me, Walter has managed to find the only winger in history who is slower than Ted McMinn.

Frankie's piece pretty much sums up my thoughts perfectly. I've been shouting for Burley to go since the first game of the campaign. Clown of a manager.

0-3 for me. Fancy Rothen to make a good start, Boyd to thrive on the service and Naisy to continue his Scotland form....

I think there is strong evidence to suggest that the sports science programme introduced under Adam Owen must be having a significant effect on the injury list and recovery times. Add to that the advances in modern medicine with less invasive procedures such as key-hole surgery and you see a lot more players recovering relatively quickly from injuries that would have ended careers 10-15 years ago. Not taking anything away from the medical team at Ibrox, they seem to be getting things right more often than not and long may that continue.

'Arry has signed some howlers in the past so I wouldn't put it past him!

We'll know by the end of the transfer window but personally I don't buy the 'putting him in the shop window' argument. He's a player of (recent) international class, he's performed at Champions League and UEFA Cup level and has won domestic honours. I don't see how playing a couple of matches between now and the end of the month is going to attract new buyers. Those who want him, will know of his ability already.

I meant he's a better keeper in terms of talent and potential. I agree that last season he was a little shaky and, in fact, I heard a pre-match comment from McCoist that, whilst Alexander can consider himself hard done by, McGregor knows that if he doesn't meet the standards they know he can reach, Alexander will replace him.

It's a sore one for Alexander. He hasn't put a foot wrong any time he has played. That said, I would agree with Walter in that I think McGregor is a better keeper although I don't agree with his selection yesterday. All this has done is put McGregor under a spotlight (not necessarily a bad thing - any player at Ibrox must be able to handle the pressure that comes with the jersey). As soon as he makes a mistake, it'll rake this whole thing up again.

That is brilliant. You can see the wee smirk on Hartley's face when he thinks United have scored....

The whole awards thing is a joke these days. If they had any sense they would wait till the final kick of the ball before deciding any of them
-
Very apt, lol! Sounds like he's trying to justify not spending the £4m or so on Fletcher in January. They're lack of goals has cost them at the business end of the season and don't our Timmy friends know it!

I reckon Mcghee has to be the favourite. He'll come cheaply as compared to Strachan, and, probably, Mowbray now that he's had a season on Premiership wages although I'd make Mowbray my second favourite. There's a chunk of West Brom fans who don't appreciate the pretty football when it doesn't get results.

I think there's still more to come. This story isn't going to go away and no amount of sweep sweeping from the SFA will stop it.

There are a lot of similarities between Burley and Le Guen. Both struggled or are struggling with criticism of their managerial style. Both have/ had dressing room discontent and both times Barry seems to be at the centre of an argument. I've had a growing dislike for Burley and this is really the final straw for me. Regardless of the behaviour of the players involved, which cannot be condoned - Burley must go. We're currently one nil up against Iceland as I write this but even if we go on to win, I don't hold out much hope of us qualifying and would rather someone else took over and had a few games to bed himself in before looking to the next campaign.

Gutted. He's been our best player in recent weeks....
