  1. I firmly believe that common sense will prevail. Hard hats on for the Timmy backlash but feck them. Can you imagine if the SPL dont do something and we lose the UEFA Cup? I for one would be pretty angry at them. For me, they should have said to every SPL club about 3 months ago that they should prepare to have the season extended by two weeks as a safety measure, just in case they are unable to resolve the fixture problems. Instead what they did was bury their head in the sand and say "we'll just wait and see how Rangers progress in the next round". Fine, but they had no contingency plan so now they're screwed and they deserve all the criticism coming their way, regardless of whether they finally do the right thing and extend the season. Hibs midfielder Brian Kerr is in the paper today saying he is £2k down after having to cancel his holidays. If his insurance company dont pay out, the SPL must be forced to foot the bill for Kerr and every other player in the same boat. Had the SPL been proactive and notified all SPL clubs of a possible league extension 3 months ago, the number of players in a similar position to Kerr would have been minimal. No wonder Walter Smith et al are raging about this. It's pathetic and I await some good news later today.
  2. The only objection I can see from QoS is that the new proposal will mean they'll not have played a competitve game for a month come Scottish Cup Final Day. Also, would giving QoS a bung be seen as Rangers 'buying' the Scottish Cup?

    Hemdani

Yip. But Hemdani was by far the worst. Particularly frustrating were the times when he passed backwards when there were better options in front of him. At times he put defenders under pressure because he shited out of playing a forward pass. Not good enough for a man of his ability.

    Hemdani

My father-in-law said, as Hemdani coolly slotted his penalty home last night: "I'm surprised he didn't hit it backwards!" I laughed but it was true. He was very poor last night and he doesn't seem to be the player he was last season in Europe, or even earlier this season. The biggest thing seems to be that he is so negative in the way that he plays. Hardly ever a forward pass and several times he thwarted some good attacking opportunities by not looking up. I'm loathe to criticise given the fact we are through but so many times last night I was shouting at the TV because he was frustrating the hell out of me. Perhaps this is the role he is being asked to play by Smith but I'm not so sure that is the case. What's other folks opinion on this?
  5. Lol. There's been some cracking banter too. Can you tell we're all excited?
  6. Stick on a miniskirt and some heels and I'm sure Gribz'll be interest. He loves his ladyboys! :moon:

    Giruy

Tremendous isn't it? The warcry of a loser!!! Arsehole!
  8. Yip, it's the Manculator...
  9. Word I've heard is that we have 13,000 tickets which is to be split between fans + tickets for the players family and friends as well as rangers own corporate sponsors All travel club members will get one. After that it'll be a ballot for all Continuous Credit Card Scheme members with no public sale unfortunately. It'll be hook or by crook i'm afraid chaps. Unless your one of the lucky ones...
  10. The Manculator starts here. I reckon there'll be 300,000 bears there!
  11. Dignity personified. A true Rangers legend. Arise Sir Walter!
  12. He did well compared to JCD. He was causing their defenders problems and was competing for the high balls that the Darche wasn't. It was very stupid to do what he did and he got what he deserved. Thought the Fiorentina players reaction was a disgrace too but what do you expect?
  13. Linky Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist says David Weir still has a slim chance of playing in their Uefa Cup semi-final second leg against Fiorentina. The Glasgow club had confirmed the defender's absence on Tuesday with a groin injury, but he flew to Florence with the squad on Wednesday morning. Yet, despite making progress, McCoist concedes Weir is still 'extremely doubtful' to make Thursday's match. Allan McGregor, Lee McCulloch and Charlie Adam are definitely out. Steven Naismith, Chris Burke and DaMarcus Beasley are also on the long Ibrox injury list. But Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson return from European suspensions. Weir limped off injured during Sunday's Old Firm defeat and, although scans showed no muscle tear, the club ruled him out of Thursday's crucial match. However, McCoist revealed that the management team still had not given up on the Scotland international. "It would be a fantastic boost if Davie was fit, but that remains to be seen," he said. "He's still feeling his groin so he is extremely doubtful and there's no magic wand." ------------------ Ooh err missus. Lauren, being the resident physio, can you shed any light on this new technique?
  14. Hope it's Chelsea. If a team from one of the big nations (i.e. England, Germany, Spain etc) wins the CL but finish outside the top two of their respective championship, that would knock out the automatic qualifier from the SPL as we are effectively the bottom seed for automatic qualification and only get one slot. The CL winners automatically qualify, as do the top two from say England so if Liverpool win it again then we have a qualifier to play should we win the title. Yet again would Scottish football would suffer at the hands of the UEFA cartel that is the Champions League. 'Mon the Blues!
  15. I think that team will be very close, if not spot on Calscot. The one thing that worries me about that team though is Broadfoot. He's becoming more and more shaky at right back as the season as gone on and although I once had confidence in him, I'm starting to lose it quickly. Dont get me wrong, I'm not one of the people shouting that he's not Rangers class. For me, he's a centre half playing out of position and deserves a shot playing his natural position before making that judgement but I would feel better with Whittaker at right back. Hopefully we can slot someone else into left midfield but I'm not sure who. McCulloch would be the ideal man to go in there i.e. someone who has a bit of strength and is a tough tackler but he's got that type of physique that takes a few games to get match fit as he doesn't strike me as a natural athlete like say Alan Hutton is.
  16. Depends on who wins the league.
  17. McCulloch is traveling too but only has a very slim chance of playing.
  18. I read an article about Sergio Porrini saying how much he's looking forward to the game and that he'll be supporting Rangers too!
  19. Agreed. Pretty lame headline grabbing if you ask me.
  20. Just put a wee line on. Rangers, Aston Villa and Blackburn. £5 returns about £174... Fingers crossed!
  21. I think it's pretty self explanatory. If you win the competition once in five years but didn't get past the last 16 for the other four, you shouldn't necessarily be ranked above a team who have say reached the semi's for each of those five years.
  22. Was watching on the box too but I saw the videos Calscot mentioned and the Viola fans certainly seemed to enjoy the welcome we put on. I wonder if the Italian police and Ultras will return the favour - somehow I doubt it.
  23. He's a useless fat barsteward! Only kidding. Out for the season as said above. Think it's a knee problem although cant really remember.
  24. Perhaps if we hadn't been so successful this season, Fleck could have been in with a shout of getting a few games. Given the hectic nature of our run in I reckon he'll be a reserve team and subs bench regular next season. Hopefully he gets some game time though.
  25. Woohoo the Gersnet cheerleader. Stick on a short skirt, get the pompoms out and give Jon and Juffery something to get excited about...
