Yes, it was a gamble that nearly paid off. It would have been save of the season had we held out for the draw.

This just makes it interesting. Altogether now... "We shall not, we shall not be moved!"

Putting aside the content of the article, I am envious of the speed in response that the Celtic heirachy of shown. That said, it's typical of the 'offended minority' attitude so often seen from the Mhanks. The nightly frothing-at-the-mouth sessions, or football phone-ins as they are otherwise known, have been highly entertaining of late. Strachan must stay!!!

I'll go for 65.
-
Aye but they struggled against the Sheep at Shittodrie so that gives us a chance regardless how many they put past a Dortmund team which is in decline.
-
You'll have a better chance of getting a ticket then!
-
I think we will win by two goals.

Are you gonna write it or shag it? :fish:

I agree with the sentiment so long as we dont become complacent. For the first 15 to 20 minutes against Sporting, we went on to the park and started knocking the ball around with the confidence of a team who believed they were good enough, and deserved to be, in the quarter finals. If we can continue that into the semis then I think we have a chance and I agree with Gribz - I fancy us to give anyone a game at Ibrox.

To the tune of 'Cant take my eyes of you...' Oh Carlos Cuellar, You are the love of my life, Oh Carlos Cuellar, I'd let you shag my wife, Oh Carlos Cuellar, I want curly hair too...

Sporting Lisbon 0 (0) : 2 (2) Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
stewarty replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Davis and Cuellar I thought were excellent. I would go for Davis by a baw hair due to the exceptional energy levels he showed to set up the first goal which ultimately won us the game. A special mention for Dailly as well as he was quietly effective despite it only being his 2nd (I think) appearance at centre half for us and the only mistake I can recall from him was being beaten to a header which flashed past the post. -
I said to my father in law before the game started that I could see Fergie getting a booking so no surprises from me to see it happen. I would prefer him to miss the first leg of the semi rather than the 2nd leg or the final

Ended up watching the game on STV last night and in fairness, the commentary was far better this week. Perhaps it was because we played so well but would be interesting to hear how the ITV4 coverage was...
-
Most folks will be ITV4 I would imagine.

That it is an f'ing joke.

Would be an amazing signing if he came to us. Can you imagine him scoring a winning goal against them? I think it would cause some ructions!
-
I wouldn't be surprised to see him back. I would be equally unsurprised if he gets moved on rather quickly.
-
Yip. If he can get 60 mins versus Dundee United then I would play him instead of JCD against Sporting.
-
I wouldn't rule out him looking at McGregor. If we got a big money offer for him you wouldn't blame him for taking it the way the press are hounding him up here...
-
I dont like to see it either but unless we get a dramatic increase in TV revenues every season then it's something we will have to live with.

Agree with most of what you say but please enlighten us as to when Amdy Faye has impressed during his career? :fish:

The trouble now with introducing fringe players back into the team is that they need to hit the ground running. It's a fine balancing act but one I agree needs to be given a shot. If you bring in one fringe player for a game then it might not work but if you keep giving other players 3 games every 7/8 days then they are going to burn out. I've been saying for a few weeks now, Smith will have to target some league games to rest some players. I dont know which one's -although obviously not Celtc games. The other option is to play a reserve team in the Scottish Cup. The reserve team can be full of fringe players and all Smith needs to do is tell them to go out there, win and put in a performance with the extra motivation that if they get throught they will play in the next round(s) and will be considered for Euro and League games.

I wouldn't say they were unbiased - I would say the commentators clearly favoured Rangers but at least they consistently tried to make objective comments and observations. Also, they called it as they saw it which is more than can be said for McPherson who really should be put down for everyone's sake.

If Newcastle want to throw sillly money at us for our Player of the Year then so be it. I would want around £11m-£12m.... As I said - silly money.
