Clearing out some of the excess in our squad has been on the cards for some time and the credit crunch has only made our financial position worse. Another share issue underwritten by Murray International is unlikely as they will no doubt be feeling the pinch the same as everyone else. If we were not to take some action to reduce costs it would not be outwith the realms of possibility that our club could fold so offering voluntary redundancies would seem to be a sensible move. But what I would like to see is a symbolic gesture from Martin Bain to take a sizeable pay cut. He has received a hefty wedge in recent years, especially when you include his bonus payments which, although not quite the same as Fred the Shreds remuneration package, have been hugely inflated and undeserved given his pisspoor performance.

McGobshite was playing for Oirland and played quite well I've heard. Borat was on the bench for Poland - not sure if he came on.

Many a scandal has been broken by the News of the Screws sp it is possible they would keep it till the next Sunday And I actually think Borat is stupid chunt who could easily get caught up in some unsavoury gambling deviance. If you were being really cynical, why not break the story on Sunday, the day of the Old Firm game...?

I saw the thread on FF with a lot of this stuff already and it is shocking. My sympathy goes out to Corky and his family. What made it worse for me is that Corky doesn't live a million miles away from me (if i recall correctly and without saying where that may be) and that this could happen to anyone.

If he played for his clubs the same as he does for NI then I would take a chance on him. Trouble is, throughout his career, his club scoring record is mince. That said, if he is a dyed-in-the-wool Bluenose as they say - if there's going to be a club team who can inspire him to emulate his international form then it's going to be Rangers so maybe a wee loan deal with an option to buy for a pre-agreed fee wouldn't be so bad.

Boyd seems to be reluctant to move unless he gets offered megabucks. Fair play - I would do the same thing but there's still plenty of time left in the transfer window for this to develop into a Hutton-like saga.

Real Radio are saying that his replacement could be David Healy. I.e. the internantional striker of note who has a completely non-existent club scoring record and virtually every club he's been at (at least in comparison to Kris Boyd). I will be gutted if this happens...

Would be a shame to see the wee guy leave but I could understand why he might want to. He's what, 30 now? That could potentially be his last chance of a decent move earning good money.
