  1. Yeah, its hard to say. But the fact he is one constant throughout the last few years that might have been allowed access to confidential files and emails, and the fact that he is clearly no stranger to the dark arts of "reputation" management, means he cannot be ruled out as a possible candidate.
  2. Seems eminently sensible given our current lack of attacking options. So many times I've looked to the bench and the only change we can make is bringing on someone like Shiels or templeton or aird, all better players in midfield.
  3. The Jig/Daly dilemma could be solved by giving Jig a couple of games up front, and playing Faure at CB (its his natural position though, so unlikely!).
  4. It was Jackson who highlighted the absurdity of our cost base in terms of luxury hotel visits, as compared to the discussions on wage reductions. However, the leak about the wage reductions was to the BBC, and the leak of the training schedule both lead back to toxic jack. This is not an over-reaction. It is happening! And similar stunts have been going on for months, nay years.
  5. Perhaps. But this is a deliberate ploy to deflect from the Board. My first question about the 15% wage cuts was who told the BBC that these discussions had taken place? Also, who do you think leaked the pic of the training schedule. You don't have to work hard to join the dots and see who benefits from this. And you only have to look at how much time we spend being distracted by minor issues to see how successful all this is.
  6. Agreed. Interesting how much stuff is coming out which is designed to ensure the focus is on Ally and the players. Anyone might think its *another* tactic to deflect from board and off-field issues.
  7. Interesting. The cycling comparison is one I was thinking about on this issue. Dave Brailsford, the Team Sky and UK cycling boss has had a load of success by doing all those sorts of things to eek out fractions of percentage point of performance.
  8. "Right thinking people"? Interesting turn of phrase. Maybe you are right, I don't know. But I don't think its wrong to think that the OB&TCB is illiberal, over the top and has been inconsistently applied.
  9. I was saying some of those slightly tongue-in-cheek, but... Foster has taken a good while to get to a standard of performance that is not as impressive as McAusland's were at the start of the season. We had something like 8 players on our books who can play RB at at the start of the season. Since then, Cole had his contract terminated having only a few months ago signed a long term deal; and Mitchell was released last week. Argyriou I don't imagine was on much, but we probably had to pay him the best part of a year's salary to get shot of him, could have been anything from £150-£250k ish.
  10. Whether the costs like today's bill for Carnoustie are justified or not, its the absurdity of the whole situation that is very well put by Jackson. But there are other absurdities that could have been highlighted too. How many accountants/financial advisers do we have? How many media/PR advisors do we have, and do we need any of them? How many right backs does Ally need? Why sign players on 2/3 years+ contracts and then release them a few short months later? And thats just to kick off a list... Feel free to add more of your own.
  11. What a load of BS. Laughable that this is meant to be taken seriously.
  12. A loan would be the best option for the lad to guarantee gametime, but hopefully at a higher level than Stirling Albion.
  13. Whether we find out who is responsible will depend on whether it's trades between parties acquiring or disposing of a notifiable holding, i.e 3% or more.
  14. My main gripe with Ally is that we resort to hoofing long balls far too easily. I accept that part of the reason for this is to make use of Jon Daly's height and presence; after all, we've scored goals in each of the last two games which have come from his flick-ons. But reliance on this approach is lazy and makes for awful football to watch. It also plays into the hands of lower league teams who generally have tall and physical centre halves who will relish having a tussle with Daly, rather than having to deal with short passing football, runs into the channel from pacy strikers, and midfielders making late runs. We do some of these things some of the time, and its enough to see us through almost all of our games at the moment, but against better quality opposition the route-one stuff will be too one-dimensional and easy to defend. Part of the solution though, is to sort out our distribution from the back. Early season, Mohsni in particular was terrible for playing long floaty diagonals which hung in the air and were easy to defend. Foster too seems to give the ball away by playing hopeful balls into the channel rather than playing to feet. Black has a bad habit of playing these 'eye of a needle' style passes at times too, but has certainly been a lot better generally this season.
  15. Hilarious that the Tims are going mental over this. The man is a troll.
  16. Its a very distinctive stench. Mainly of piss and shite.
  17. The more hysterical the reaction of Stockbridge, Irvine and Somers (and their assorted acquaintances) to direct and consistent questioning, the more convinced I become that they are all completely untenable. There was still a possibility of Somers remaining, but if he can't see how Stockbridge and Irvine's presence is a red-line issue, then he is also untenable.
  18. Hahahahahahaha. I do hope he is VAT registered...
  19. Accept bossy's summation of their likely motives. But their support of the current board, if confirmed, only confirms to me that they need to be treated with the utmost suspicion.
  20. Not sure if it is bad news that Laxey have increased their influence, but I am concerned about their intentions. Hopefully it is BPH that have sold, it would certainly seem the most likely given that McCollco has not withdrawn its requisition.
  21. Presumably if it accounts for 5% of the share capital, it will need to be formally announced to the market, so we should find out in due course.
  22. If its Artemis or HH, thats going to put a lot of pressure on McCollco's voting block come the AGM.
  23. Perhaps this is McCollco hoovering up some extra influence ahead of the AGM. They have been certainly been quiet this last week or so.
