I can't have any confidence in the Board, despite some apparently decent CV's of our now Chairman and CEO, when they continue to employ the services of Media House and have Stockbridge as Finance Director. Both are untenable.

Leggat - ANTI- JIM McCOLL MEN LOOK AS NEUTRAL AS IRISH FREE STATE IN 1940

For every Leggo blog I read that isn't barking mad, there's at least a dozen that are. -
I very much hope to be proven wrong, but this comment about individuals has all the hallmarks of an attempted face-saving exercise by Stockbridge and the Easedales. I realise that this was always likely to be the case, but quite simply, Stockbridge's position is untenable. Its going to take a heck of a lot to convince me otherwise. And if this Boardroom stramash was not about individuals, why does the Board continue to employ Jack Irvine who has smeared individuals on a daily basis? This is a sticky plaster on an open wound. Perhaps Somers will hang on for the ride after the AGM, but this statement is no more than a puff piece.

Statement on the club website: NEW non-executive director and acting Chairman David Somers has this afternoon released the following statement. He said: “It is a huge honour and privilege to be appointed acting Chairman and non-executive Director of Rangers Football Club. “I know from my visits to Ibrox Stadium – including a number of Champions League games I attended in the past – that the Club has a tremendous fan base. “Ally McCoist has the players performing well on the pitch so my task now is to strengthen the Board to the level that Rangers Football Club deserves. “This 141-year-old institution is on the road to recovery and I will do everything in my power to help take this great club back to the very top of Scottish football where it belongs. “I have a strong background in finance and corporate governance and while there are challenges ahead I am confident they can be overcome and Rangers can rise again. “Rangers is a global brand and I would urge everyone associated with the club – players, staff, sponsors and most importantly our supporters – to pull together and help take the club forward. “Ally McCoist and his squad have enjoyed a positive start to the season and we are in a terrific position at the top of the league. “My priority is to help oversee the recruitment process for a high-calibre Chief Executive and further independent non-executive Directors to strengthen the Board and provide long-term stability for Rangers. “The Club has confirmed it will hold its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 19 December and we hope to make significant progress before that date. “I appreciate some supporters have been unhappy with events at the Club in recent weeks and months. "However, I have taken the position of acting Chairman and non-executive Director as I believe this Club has a bright future and we can achieve great things if we all work together for the good of Rangers. “It should not be about individuals, it is the Club that is important and I hope everyone with Rangers’ best interests at heart can work together in order to take us forward.”

Sunday Post - Legal moves to disclose mystery shareholders

If its a choice between a the current Board and a flawed trio of King and the Murrays, its a no-brainer for me. -
Saw this over the weekend. Given that he clearly had done his research on the Dragons, surely he would have worked out that questioning their judgement is unlikely to help him winning some investment. What a fud!

Daniel Stewart - £1.74m Loss In The Last Year

Another startling revelation. These are the guys that are standing in the way of King getting on the Board, when there appears to be no rational reason, other than to maintain control for the likes of BPH and Margarita for as long as possible. In the meantime, our cash position dwindles by the hour. -

We streamed a few games last season, but no mention of any this season though. Disappointing as I agree its an opportunity we could exploit. Possibly would be best to only do it for away games though, to try and maximise the home gate.

My folks use the bbc text service regularly. Old habits die hard though. I did a quick check and the articles are the same as compared with the website. Quite why they would use the telly when they've invested in Kindle Fire's, is anyones guess.

IIRC from his Sportsound interview on Saturday, he said the SFA had a legally binding assurance from Malcolm Murray, Charles Green and Imran Ahmad that Whyte was not involved. I assumed therefore that it must be a written assurance. However, I am very interested to know the exact nature of said assurance, because if it is an assurance at the time of the transfer of SFA membership from oldco to newco, that Whyte had no involvement in running the club, that is something that would seem to be fairly easy to prove or disprove. But if its an assurance that Whyte has no shareholding in a company linked to or part of BPH or Margarita, that could be altogether different. Also, with the way Green and Ahmad seemed to do business, who's to say that something couldn't come out of the woodwork via Charlotte Fakes or some other source.

Agreed. Remember the honesty and transparency stuff that was the hallmark of Green's early public statements?

I'm highly suspicious of who these people are. Reading between the lines, I suspect Jackson knows, and is seeking some form of corroboration before running the story. My worry about all this is the legally binding assurances provided by Green in order to get the transfer of SFA membership from oldco to newco. What exactly is detailed in the assurance, and would the presence of Whyte within either BPH or Margarita result in our membership being revoked?

Certainly an interesting theory. My money is still on Naqvi though.

Whilst nothing much new was recorded in the minutes, I'm pleased that they have opened up dialogue and have indicated their willingness to take forward a number of the initiatives suggested. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating though.

Match time is prime time to release statements after all!

I'm sure he is a decent bloke, and I know that guys like McCoist and Smith have said he's been doing a decent job over the summer. But when the heat has been on, I'm afraid Mather just shows that he is not up to the job. This becomes ever clearer with every statement he makes. Put simply, he is far too easily influenced; and increasingly, this is the poisonous influence of the Jack Irvine and the like. However, I suspect he was placed in the job for exactly that reason.

All points to an Old Firm derby in New York, or similar. Which, to be fair, is something that could work out well from a commercial point of view. -
Faure's early season form at centre half was solid. He looks decent in that position so I would be keen to see this partnership given a chance. However, Jig is pretty much guaranteed to start when fit. He's not mobile enough to play in midfield any more and Daly is probably preferred up top. So unless Jig or Daly are out for prolonged periods, I can't see this happening much this season.

I accept the logic. And it was a good gesture to all those who stuck with the club in hard times. Nonetheless, I did think a modest increase to cover inflationary increases in costs was likely for this season.
-
I thought a modest increase should have been applied this year. I think its inevitable for next year.

Yet another public utterance from Mather and Stockbridge that simply does not stand up to a basic fact check. Plus ca change.
