Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has revealed he has failed in an ambitious move for James McFadden. McFadden is looking for a new club after being released by Everton earlier this month. Brown tried to sign McFadden last January prior to his move to Everton, but the Scotland international rejected his overtures. The Dons chief made a new bid for the forward following his release by Everton, but again he has been snubbed with the player preferring to stay in England. "We would like to have McFadden at Pittodrie but that one doesn't look likely," Brown told the Daily Record. "McFadden made it clear he would rather stay in England. I asked him to inform us if he has a change of heart but I'm not expecting that to happen." Brown is hoping to set up some deals by speaking to his contacts at this week's meeting of European coaches in Luxembourg. "It's the ideal opportunity to speak to the men with the very best knowledge of who might be available in Europe," added Brown. (Jim White)

Totally disagree with you on that last statement. Just because someone is playing a game of football does not mean we have to accept that terrible behaviour becomes normal. Bad behaviour off the field remains bad behaviour on the field and should be punished.

I was wondering when King would fly in under the Radar. It will not surprise me if he does end up with Whyte's shares and ends up being a head player behind the scenes. The fact that he supposedly paid only 1pound would keep the tax people in SA off his back that he has money he should not have.

He is the biggest share holder so he must be the owner surely.

I hope the new consortium have the money to drag this through the courts. This is SFA making a decision based on trying to keep the majority happy no matter if it is right or wrong.

Charity begins at home. If it helps with a CVA I would have no problem with them using it to pay off the football creditors.

I am pretty sure free agents were allowed and for me it would make sense as players would be kept out of a job, so they would also be punished.
