If he keeps running east he will eventually arrive back where he started. What we want is for him to go there and we will get the Berlin wall built back up as soon as possible.
  2. The only thing i want to hear from Barry Ferguson is the door shutting behind his arse. Because i love Rangers i hope he plays well. The end!!!!
  3. From Bungling Batty. Nah
  4. I agree we have to target these countries but again i feel we have to stick to scouting the professional circuit and let local clubs find the guy's in the park. Manchester picking up Ronaldo at 18\19 from sporting Lisbon is an example of what i mean. A small group of people travelling on a weekly basis could cover these games. This may be crazy but the CIA pick out criminals and terrorists by scouring the internet. As every football club has a website, and i would imagine most or all agents have websites. these scouts could keep track of players at a distance with regular visits to take in games. I would say covering the top two leagues in any one country would be reasonable and manageable. What we also can't forget Holland has a great reputation for bringing on young players, taking Aaron as an example it is a side of things we would have to work on to build up a reputation.
  5. On saturday evening i am going to watch Heracles-AZ courtesy of my boss as my company are one of the Head sponsors of Heracles Next Saturday i am off to Dortmund again to watch Dormund -Hoffenheim Waiting for tickets for the Dutch cup Twente - de Graafschap. Who says neutral supporters don't exist. God i wish i was at Ibrox.
  6. Taken from The Rangers Micellany: It is a common assumption that Rangers nickname of the light blues refers to the club colours-but in fact originally the term was a reference to the youthfulness and lightness of build of the Rangers players compared to the older and more physical nature of many of their opponents. in a particular press coverage of the 1877 Scottish cup final against vale of Leven and the then Kinnings park outfits training methods of being "out on the Queens highway"early in the morning caught the public's imagination The players were referred to in the press as the "Light and speedy blues" and thereafter became known as the light blues for short, although clearly this nickname through common usage was accepted as referring to the club's colours. The teddy bears was obviously rhyming with the Gers. we were also known as the Honey pears, also rhyming with the Gers.
  7. Brilliant i can get it!!:rfc:
  8. I am not saying the first line of scouting should be agents. It is just not financially feasible to pay hundreds or thousands of scouts across the world. If we also had hundreds or thousands of Scouts, you would create an organisation that is extremely difficult to oversee and open yourself up to people taking financial advantage of the club. In my vision we have to have a small group of Topscouts working from Ibrox\MP who have a full time job in making contacts all over the world and when given tips the knowledge and vision(that word again) to follow it up. Riemer van der Velde was not a top player but he can spot talent when others miss it. One example was the signing of Afonso Alves.(now at Middlesbrough) The scouts of Ajax were also scouting Malmo at that time. Ajax signed Rosenberg who done nothing for them and herenveen signed Alves who brought in +15mill euros. I know Alves is not doing too good at the moment but i don't think Herenveen will be losing sleep over that. Scandinavia is a few hours flying from Glasgow it would be simple to have a scout at games on a regular trip. Every single professional and youth professional player are on a registered list. these lists are available to all clubs as far as i know. A Rangers scout picking up an unknown player from Copenhagen park is a fantasy in my opinion. It can happen per chance but not on an organised fashion. A Scouting team creating contacts and going to watch prof games and professional youth games over the world, is the answer imo. Let Malmo pick out the boy in the park. we have to know when to pay malmo 500.000 for a million pound player.
  9. Agree fully and i have to look at the cnut on dutch telly. Assistant at Feynoord next year.

    What If ?

Funny you mentioned it i thought it would be worth that to get rid of him.
  11. :D I can just imagine that happening. nice one.
  12. I have been calling WS the nutty professor for a while but i am afraid i am now shifting more to the bungling Twit. His overcautious tactics have cost us dearly over the years. Even with players like Laudrup and Gascoigne Huistra McCoist and Hately in the team he still set us up in a negative formation in europe. I remember thinking regularly playing in Europe under him"come on Rangers have a go we can beat this mob" We rarely did have a go until it was too late. What we could have done in Europe with the above players and a manager with a bit of balls.
  13. Playing on for most of the game with a possible broken foot, the guy must have some level of pain barrier. Hopefully not as bad as it looks.
  14. Nah in that field i score better than Boydy.:fish:

    Sunday Mail

5 years ago i came from the BBC website to the Gersnet. the best google i ever done. The BBC website was also a website with "yes we are. No we're not posts." Utter crap!
  16. Derek Johnstone is the one i can remember scoring on his OF debut. I am sure we won with his scoring header being the decider.
  17. I am going to disagree totally with you mainflyer. A Fart is a positive explosion from the anus that brings relief. Walter is just a negative pain in the arse.
  18. No they weren't. Millie is on for Fleck.
  19. Sorry it was not my meaning to take anything away from the importance of the original topic. The most important part of the message is of course that a good well run scouting system can and would be a huge benefit to the club.
  20. I actually got the ticket from a neighbour for my birthday. Great surprise. I was actually offered one before that for 40euro's and knocked it back because i found it too expensive. Hurlock leave some beer in Amsterdam for me please for after the game.
  21. While agreeing with the concept of the scouting system i am afraid the writers research leaves a lot to be desired. Danny Landzaat and Tim le Cler actually came through the Ajax youth system. Lannzaat was in fact a full international before he joined AZ. Dick scheringa in fact owns his own bank and pumps plenty of money into AZ. I think if you go through the AZ team you will in fact find more own youth players playing for rangers than AZ have. AZ offered 15million for Alves who now plays for Middlesbrough. While i am no expert in Hoffenheim i do know that the owner is also in fact super rich, making millions from the software programme SAP. I will disagree about their youth system gaining their success but they do seem to have a scouting system in place that can pick out players who are at smaller clubs and blend them into a team. Pity a lack of research spoils the post. If you want to look at great scouting in Holland then Herenveen and Groningen must top the list.
  22. A long way off i know but i just heard i have a ticket for the game. I know many of the Scotland haters won't be bothered but i will be proud to be draped in my Scottish flag amongst the Dutch supporters. Hopefully a few pints in Amsterdam as well.
  23. Agree fully we have to stand up and be counted and not go onto the park showing fear. Fergie should let us see if he can still play a part at Rangers.
