I think there must be something deeper going on. Maybe an attitude problem or something. I don't think this is totally a football decision. How old is Gow? Could he not sit on the Bench as a youth player? If so then he is wayyyyy down the pecking order.
  2. Twente are playing against a selection of the best local amateurs from hengelo(my town) on Saturday so i may go along and watch. I guess it is goodbye passing football and welcome long ball stuff for Twente then.
  3. Yeah i was pumped full of treasure island and kidnapped. Maybe that is more appropriate as the new board could be a bunch of Pirates and six members of the board have already walked the plank.
  4. Alan Hutton and Stevie Smith as the backs would be the icing on the cake.
  5. I like that Gribz!!!
  6. You said he would be a squad player. That would mean to me he is not in the first choice setup. If he is not in the first choice setup then he won't be a success. Or am i missing something?
  7. Disagree on Velicka I can see him doing well for us.
  8. Waw We do have scouts on the ground, or were these kids on the telly. Will be glad to keep an eye on their progress.
  9. Many a true word said in jest!!!!
  10. I agree with UCF i don't think Cousin was as bad as everyone is sketching. How many games were we pinned back with Weir and Cuellor punting the ball up field. If a striker is isolated he often looks dis-interested as he has to react before two defenders do. Remember defending is easier than attacking so two defenders against one will mostly always win the ball. For me Cousin did great in some games constantly giving two defenders a hard time. Personally i won't be sorry to see him stay on and see what he can do with more help up front.
  11. I don't know if your post is aimed at me but if it is then yes it is one of the reasons i do not think he is good enough to be Rangers Captain or play-maker. Every season comes the story of an injury. These stories mostly appear when we have lost sight of Celtic, or the team is playing bad. As you say yourself he has had one great season and the rest have been filled with mediocrity. Almost everyone is in agreement that he does not do it in the more forward midfield position, but what has he done in the deeper position. When he played deeper last season (06\07), he was taking the ball off Hemdani's toes, which meant we had five players in one line at the back. That in turn lets the opposing striker pressurise three men The 2CH's and Barry. Getting the ball forward is then difficult as the other remaining 5 men are being marked by 8 men. We saw this scenario time and time again. Adding to that, he lets people ghost away from him, then blames someone else. If he loses a ball he jogs back instead of chasing after it.. I don't think i have ever called him shite, that is your word. I think he is a good player but not great. I also feel his head has grown past his talent, he thinks he is captain Marvel and therefore has lost his value as a team player. Just my opinion and how i see it. PLG saw it that way as well but was shot down just like anyone else who dares to doubt our Barry.
  12. The only thing is he has never been 100% fit since he came back from Blackburn.
  13. Have we bought Darren Bent.
  14. Someone picked Whitteker. They must have been on the drink.
  15. Bad news for Germinal Beerschot. The Antwerpse club has a concurrent in the fight for Thomas Buffel. Standard Liege are also interested in the services of the attacking midfielder. (Gazet van Antwerpen)
  16. PSV confirm Spurs interest in Gomes 10:02am today PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday confirmed Tottenham have inquired about the availability of goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. Fans' favourite Gomes asked for a transfer shortly after PSV claimed their 21st league title last season, citing differences with managing director Jan Reker, which alerted Spurs. "Tottenham have informed us of their interest," Reker said in the Eindhovens Dagblad newspaper. Although Reker insisted a deal has yet to be struck, he hinted it was close after revealing the club have already drawn up a list of replacements. "It is true that Andreas Isaksson is one of the candidates to replace Gomes, but we are looking at other keepers too," he added. Although it is not really Rangers related, i think it is appropriate to be placed here as Spurs were favourite to sign shagger. I would prefer Gomes as well to be honest, one of the best keepers in the world.
  17. Apparently the proceeds are going towards the education of his children so i don't think Motherwell are cashing in. I think they are genuinely trying to help his family. If you consider that Celtic gave Larsson who already was a multi-millionaire a benefit game, then i suppose this is showing a great respect for the player and his family who have probably been left with very little.

Don't agree totally as Walters decisions have been totally wrong in the past and it is well known he stays well within his comfort zone. How many young players have ever gotten a chance under Walter? Very Few. Signing Davy Weir for another season shows you just what i mean. He cost us ten in a row first time round with his loopy decisions and misplaced loyalty and now he is falling into the same trap.

Agreed look at McFadden and McCormack at that age they were also billed in the same way. While on the other side of the coin you have Barry Robson who at 28 is hitting the big time. We certainly can't keep a reserve team full of players who might make it ten years down the line.

He played well against East Stirling in the SC. Only against East Stirling but we had 11 so called good players play crap against QOTS.

I really can't understand why this guy never got a chance. In the games i seen him he done really well. Walter must really have took the hup at him for some reason.
  24. I am not sure that Alexander could not grow if given a fast place in the team. I would also hope for that money that we could buy a midfielder that gets us dominating games again. There are other keepers out there who we could also bring in for much less.

    DaMarcus Beasley

As far as i can see it must have been 2006 but i must admit i was surprised to see he actually played 29 and 27 games in his seasons with PSV not as bad as i thought.
