  1. " I hope he stays but i must admit having 9mill to spend on a play-maker would make me really think about letting him go.
  2. Personally i think this statement is to bolster his price. If they say they want rid of him then he will be worth a lot less. I still think he will be sold. But i would love a 25 goal man coming off the bench.

I think Eck would love to get boyd so i don't see the bridge being that wide.
  5. Crap game, worst of the championships for me. Glad Italy went out. Crap in the Qualifiers and crap in the tournement. Fantastico!!!! Forza Italia!:moon:
  6. Are they wanting it down to 8M.
  7. Seemingly he wants away from BCity. Celtic have been quoted as not interested as they have McGeady. Boyd + 2-3 mill anyone?
  8. From 15-20(guess) to 45.000 is a big incentive to play for anyone. I don't know if he will ever play for one of the top teams as he is limited in his forward play. I don't see Arsenal or Manu being interested in him to be honest.
  9. Alexander and Cuellor's punts.

I thought i was quite clear in this thread on who i thought was our best midfielder so refrained from repeating myself. I didn't think anyone read my posts anyway.

    DaMarcus Beasley

I said it last season and was proven right so i will say it again. He will not play more than 15-20 games before being injured. He does add a lot of speed and is a good player but that injury virus makes him an expensive supporter in the stand.

Just because he in some peoples opinion was our best player does not mean he has to set the standards for next season. Personally i would say if he is our best player then we need to raise our standards as under his leadership we are looking 5 in a row right in the face. But then again that is everyone's fault except Fergies. Och yeh and the poor wee man was playing with an injury.

For me over the whole season it must have been Thomson. While Davis was playing in the middle he was also outshining Fergie so for me you already have 2 candidates. I will admit Fergie was outstanding in the 3-0 game against the tims but his season consisted of only a handful of good games,

If you look at Arsenal and how they improved after selling Henry who was supposedly their best player and going out from football is a team game then it is possible that yes a lesser human being could maybe improve our team. The fact that you think that he is our best midfielder is not the feedback i have been reading from the rest of the board, so i guess that opens up the same question does one person know better than 10.

I guess it is the old question then, do you sell one to suite ten or do you sell ten to suite one.

As has been well documented I am not a Barry fan. Many say we cannot play without him but in fact the only real run without him was the first few games under PLG which if i remember right we played some fantastic football. It was only when Barry came back in, that things started to go pear shaped. I would not say Barry is not a good player as he is a good player. I will ask, is he the right man for the job in our midfield. I personally don't think he is as i think he suffocates our whole game\team. Walter obviously realised this to an extent as he pushed him into a more attacking role, but i think everyone will agree Barry will never be the attacking midfielder we would be hoping for.Ian Durrant must be pulling his hair out watching Barry run about like a headless chicken in that forward position that Durrant played so brilliantly before his injury. With Barry in that forward role the game just passes him by and he is caught between wall and ship. Playing Barry as play maker is also not an option imo, as football in Scotland has changed from the day's where teams play with eleven defenders, to young guy's kicking at your ankles in the engine room. Barry no longer has the speed to match the young pretenders. The days of a player getting the time Barry wants on the ball are over. My other gripes about Barry are his endeavour to track-back when he loses the ball. This mostly happens at jogging pace and then he blames others for not picking players up. I will agree that by doing this he will then be free when we get the ball back, but by the time he has twisted and turned he will have two players breathing down his neck leading to a backward pass. Because he has been forced back it normally leads to a punt from the keeper or the CH to a lone forward who has been isolated. In my opinion keeping Barry will be more of the same next year and i will fear for 5 in a row. He has become a bit like my wife. Impossible to live with but impossible to live without. The only way to better things is divorce, i am afraid. I won't get one as it will cost me too much money. Rangers won't because Walter Smith is too loyal to older players who are falling bellow the grade
  19. The Dutch benefited from a weird rule, offside decision goal in the first game so i guess this evens things up. This has brought the Dutch down to earth with a bang. Russia were by far the better team and for me a tribute to Gus Hiddink who has now taken 4 countries into the 1\4 finals. I now hope for him that Russia win it. It might be a good thing for the authorities that the Dutch are out as i think a Dutch final would have caused havoc with supporters turning up. Yesterday was estimated at 100.000 plus but even in my small social ring many were going to head for the final. I think it would have made the 130.000 official Rangers crowd in Manchester look like a nursery class.
  20. The big worry for me is Ferguson, Thomson. More of the same faults we have been seeing over the past few years. As yet i can't see much of the new ambition Walter is supposed to be bringing in.
  21. I don't think the price age thing goes Jon. I would have payed 10mill for Maradona at 17 before i would pay 3.5 mill for Boyd.
  22. Nooooo the guy is shite. Couldn't lick his own arse for Ajax or Werder.
  23. i see it that way as well Cal. Where has all the money gone that we have errand over the last few years.
  24. On the Dutch telly tonight one of the pundits hit the nail on the head. He said football players don't play negative football. Coaches(managers) make them play negative football. That is Walter Smith for me in one sentence.
  25. As far as i have read on here there is few who even know how Lafferty plays so i guess your remark is aimed at Walter.
