  1. I would say the loss of Hutton was a bigger factor than the loss of McGregor. The loss of Hutton and Beasley lost us a lot of attacking power. McGregor may have done better but it is pie in the sky as he was injured and couldn't play.
  2. A few players have been taken to court here in Holland recently for tackles that verge on assault. For one player it was a career finishing tackle and he did get compensation and the guilty party getting a work sentence.

I couldn't believe one of the pundits on RS saying Novo wasn't playing because he is an impact player, so he will probably get a half hour. Do we not need impact players during the first hour. Nacho was motm a few times playing 90 mins. Nacho should have had a full game on Saturday.
  4. stop moanin, there was about 600.000 empty beer cans to piss in.
  5. The Rangers game was call off for one reason. Not Phil o Donnell but Aiden McGeady being suspended.

I agree fully it is Walter you will have to convince. the only forward thinking he will do is playing nacho on the right.

Gribz to play Boyd you have to play an attacking game. Walter won't start with attacking players.
  8. I don't ever see us buying a player direct from Celtic, while i agree with you Gribz. I would like to see Brown coming but it would have to be via another team. FC Twente knocked Ajax out the CL today and i would love to see us going for Engelaar as a replacement for Fergie. They also have a Fantastic Defender in Douglas a large Black Brazilian and a good Aussie RB in Wiltshire. I hope you read this Walter.
  9. Looking forward to next year and analysing what i think were our short-comings were, I believe, McGregor is a no brainer he has done every thing right and if it were not for him we would not have gone so far in the UEFA or had so many points in the league. Losing Hutton was the turning point of the season in my eyes. Even although he was a defender he was our best attacking player and his runs into the opposition half and crosses from the bye-line created havoc even to the best teams in Europe. Broadfoot could never fill Hutton's boots in attack or defence and as most are saying, grooming Whittaker in that position would have given us more balance in defence and attack. Whittaker can't match Hutton either but he would have been a better option. King Carlos: if we are going to talk about the difference of this year and last year then you can do it in two words. King Carlos! The guy has been Phenonimal. Rangers should be trying to extend his contract and giving him a better deal to make sure he stays for the coming years. David Weir is a great defender but offers absolutely nothing in a build up going forward. He is the last of the Mohicans in an age that defenders could just defend. His lack of pace has forced us to defend far to deep which meant we could rarely push teams into their own half. Davie should take a sub role or retire. I, and i believe most fans could not stomach another season of six yard box defending. Sasa Papac is another who has had an above average season and if i was the manager i would be looking to see if Sasa could move to centre-half next year depending on the development of Steven Smith. I would certainly have no problems leaving Papac at left-back though where he has improved by the week. Midfield: For me their is only one player i would be thinking about for my first team next season and that is Kevin Thomson. Definite no's would be Steven Whittekar Brahim Hemdani and Barry Ferguson. Would i sign Steven Davis? Yes depending on the price. Hemdani has done his best but it is time to leave. Whittekar is just not a midfielder. Barry has shown this year that he cannot fill the forward moving role. In my eyes he cannot fill the defensive midfield role either as he watches the ball and lets players walk away from him. Unfortunately the pace of the game is starting to bypass Barry, opponents are finding it so easy to close him down. My problem with Walter Smith will show it's head here. He will stay loyal to Barry rather than try to improve the team. The Forwards for me is easy. I would keep Nacho and be looking to replace the rest. I would possibly keep McCulloch Beasley JCD as second choice but if we got offers then i would not be difficult to deal with
  10. Hard to disagree. i am too deflated to do it anyway.
  11. The Man City Petrovic would be ok.
  12. Unfortunately they do exist Andrew. Some people thrive on violence. If they want to fight get them shipped to Afghanistan.
  13. No to both. Miller couldn't score in a barrel of ******* and Lovenkrands has not really excelled at the top level either. Miller coming means it is for the lone striker role and i am going to be pissed off if we go through another year of this negative crap we are being served up.

    Media Hypocrisy

Sometimes it is not your choice though. Sometimes there are unsuspecting victims who just happen to walk into it. It is difficult when people are in a group though to know who the goodies and who are the baddies are. In my eyes the police should have held a line until the until the generals were picked out then they should have had definite targets to get the organising culprits Unfortunately there are police officers who actually love this for the Buzz and are actually worse than the neds. If you stop the film below at 22.17.26sec then you see a guy in black who seems to be organising things. I don't know if he is just a shite-bag urging the rest on or he is directing things. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7402702.stm
  15. Good piece Mainstand. Good to hear you had a good time.
  16. I have been trying to analyse what went wrong with our Euro run that saw us playing some fantastic football in the first few rounds to being the talk of Europe for bringing in Anti football. In my eyes two major things happened that changed not our tactics but the way they were enforced. In the early days we played with Beasley on one wing and McCulloch on the other wing. That meant our 4-5-1 changed into a 4-3-3 very quickly when we had the ball. Adding to that we also had the best attacking fullback possibly in Europe. The loss of Hutton to me was probably the difference between being the bride or the bridesmaid. After Beasley got injured we lacked the speed to turn defence into attack at the high speed needed for quick counters. Our 4-5-1 became a 4-5-----------1. Instead of Beasly and McCulloch giving us speed going forward and in McCulloch's case a lot of power we ended up with 5 midfielders in almost one line across the park. That meant it was oh so simple to close us down and the only outlet was a long ball up to JCD or Cousin.(Whoever was playing). As we all know from playing football ourselves a striker can hold the ball up. but not so long that the midfield can cover 40 yards. Which meant 32% of the balls were to no one. 32% he could hope for a flick on to no one. 32% he got the ball but lost it before help came, and 4% caused some danger. Adding to that Walters more and more negative starting line-ups and indeed the injuries we have had meant in the end we were always going to struggle in the final.

He said he was ashamed as a Glaswegian and not of being a Glaswegian Wija. Two different things imo.
  18. At the Press conference with the police and i think it was the Mayor, there were a lot of journalists who got tore in about how the police were at fault. There seemed to be a lot of journalists who got caught up in the trouble. The best thing would be an independent inquiry into the whole affair. Then we would see the truth if other factions had mixed amongst the Rangers support and if the police and council got it wrong. Hopefully they would listen to people like the guy who wrote the about the security at the Rangers zone.

    What bugs me

I am afraid it is not the fans that are in a bad light here it is the negative attitude of our team. I have heard people say we have gained respect in Europe, but i have been witnessing otherwise. Nearly everyone is saying how football won over anti-football. I switched to Dutch television at half time to listen to their pundits. They had that prick van Hooidonk on. Every one was saying the Broadfoot handball wasn't a penalty but big Pierre-vert was saying it was a penalty and good defenders now run with their hands behind their backs. The other pundit laughed at him and said how can you run with your hands behind your back and keep up with a winger. His reply was that is what the good defenders are doing now. The guy is a tainted twat.
  20. Gaz how did you get the ticket and how much did you pay?
  21. Don't kid yourself Ibrox, any tapes that point a finger at the police will just happen to be erased and some office girl will get her wrist slapped for it happening, we've seen it all before.
  22. He's the ugly one. Stands out a mile.
  23. If anyone can find a better copy of Nacho's goal against DU please post it as this is a tim McCurry cheat video.
  24. I never said he wasn't a good manager,i have being saying he is a money grabbing wanker. Left rangers when the cash dried up. Had signed a contract with one of the Arabian countries and sneaked out his hotel room in the middle of the night when S.Korea came after him. Had signed a contract with Australia and ripped it up after Zenit offered him more money. Dick Advocaat has no love for any team he only has a love of himself and his money.
  25. I was thinking that as well Cal. They looked more like casuals than Rangers supporters
