To be fair to Le Guen, we've seen MacGregor, Hutton, Smith, Burke and Adam get regular games. He's also given games or sub appearances to Bardsley, Martin, Stanger, Ponroy, Lowing and Lennon. Svensson, Clement, Sebo, Boyd and Papac are also very young. I don't really think PLG can be faulted for not giving youth a chance. However I would have liked that extended to Ashikodi.

There may be good reasons behind PLG's latest shock decision, and we know Bazza can be totally up his own behind and not easy to deal with, but our manager is not really in a position to be so drastic and surely has the managerial ability to smooth things over or bide his time while we are already in such stormy waters? It all smacks a bit of desperation and the baffling promotion of Rae from the reserve team and transfer list to captain does not give me confidence that Le Guen is making well thought out decisions. It feels more like appointing a yes man whose desperate to get into the team reckoning. Barry himself should know there is only one winner in a power struggle between a player and manager and it is the manager's head on the block when players don't perform and so when they get it wrong the last reason they want is that players are not following their instructions. There does seem to be a big clash of egos but surely the protagonists both have enough leadership skills to know when to compromise for the greater good? What we're finding is that both of them are too arrogant to suppress their egos and make cool headed decisions. I think there will be a lot of talk of loyalty and there will be arguments for both. However, with last seasons debacle I've learned that the manager seems to attract more loyalty than anyone else. We'll be told to get behind the manager - but why should we show someone who has been here six months and failed abysmally, more backing than a captain who has been here for most of his career, has been very successful and is currently one of our top three players? Just who are we supposed to be loyal to? If we can accept a popular captain being sacked on a whim while playing well, then why should we care if an unsuccessful manager is sacked? Le Guen cannot axe players and captains at will without accepting that there is a sword of Damoclese above his own head.

It's a shame, he was one of the players I was really looking forward to being given a chance and would rate him above Stanger and Lennon. I think in time we may regret this one. Carcary is my next favourite to get promoted so hopefully we won't get rid of him as well.

I agree with you Craig, and he's done it before by providing a 10M "revolving credit" arrangement. He doesn't need to spend a penny - just transfer the debt to his companies and charge the going rate of interest. I'm not saying he didn't sell Barry to pay a debt but I find it hard to believe that he would have his hand forced over such a small amount for him. It's certainly not his style, he likes to be far more in control and uses his wealth to ensure that he is.

I think it's good Van Gaal having a look as if he's impressed he could be a willing candidate for Rangers manager if or when PLG leaves.
-
I think both players were idiots signing new contracts in the summer. There was a load of speculation around them and if they wanted the dosh they should have sat tight on their current contracts which with only a year or so to run would have put them in a more commanding position.
-
The fact it's only on fans fc means there is no foundation in the story. Maybe just wishful thinking on someone's part.

I really can't believe he has genuinely enjoyed his first six months. I don't think he regrets coming but the pressure obviously affected him for a while. Does anyone agree that the recent resurgence has a big correlation with a change in formation? We seem to be more of a 4-4-2 now with the midfield 4 forming a diamond shape. I think he should chuck the 4-2-3-1 in the bin as it doesn't seem to work in Scotland and 4-1-3-2 is much more effective.
-
Think, I've got to agree here, most of our goals have been to defenders' errors rather than MacGregor when he is playing. That's why he's a more popular keeper than Letizi who has caused goals and not prevented as many as the young Scotsman.

Isn't Paul Lambert the new manager of Wycombe?
-
It was a penalty offence but then we also had a claim for a penalty when Novo was fouled in the box in the second half which caused his shot to go wide. So things are already even.

You spend time with your hole in a dark room????
-
The ironic thing is that the journo's are writing for us. If PLG keeps them in the dark, he also keeps us in the dark which is very frustrating. When PLG first came, I hung on his every word, now I'm not bothered at all as he's about as forthcoming as Johnny Tightlips. It's definitely not the language, and I'd like to know what he was like on Canal+ because at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if he was the least insightful pundit of all time. He's so bad that I prefer to listen to Gordan Strachan, and at least Ivanauskis is amusing if unintentionally so. John Collins is a model interviewee and I'm impressed with his straight talking.

The silly thing about when these sites go down is that there is no information at all - and that includes this site. It can't be too hard to put up a message somewhere on the web that will be picked up by a search engine.

I remember him making a few mistakes but nothing too crucial. His flap against the 'tic is his the only memorable, glaring one for a while. He's pretty solid in my eyes and I prefer him by a long way to Letizi.

To be honest I'm not going to get upset about any religious gestures on the pitch. BUT I do think it is: 1. I don't know anywhere in the Catholic religion where is says to bless yourself before a game of football. Where is that in the Bible? 2. I'm sure if there is a God he has better things to think about than help a player win a football game - and who does he choose if guys from both teams bless themselves? 3. One of the reasons that religion causes so much trouble is that instead of keeping it private as it should be people seem to insist on publicising their religion. 4. Boruc is pretty much prostituting his religion when he does the cross in front of the Ibrox crowd to wind them up and I'm surprised he wasn't condemned by the Catholic church the first time round. 5. The offended Ibrox crowd are a bunch of hypocrites when they complain about someone publicly demonstrating their religion as what are all those orange and anti pope songs about? So in conclusion I think fans and players should keep their religion private, and concentrate on the football match.

Shota scored another two goals, one in injury time, against reigning UEFA champions, Seville in Spain, for AZ to come from behind and win 2-1, and take top place in their group.

Last night showed that we were missing a striker who can finish. The amount of chances we had was unbelievable and yet we scored one goal by a right back... Sebo and Novo do everything but put the ball away. Even if you look at Novo's recent goals, they've all took a deflection to beat the keeper. We really missed Boyd last night but at least we still did the job. Can't blame Sebo for the double save the goalie made as that was great keeping from decent shots but he could have finished better with other chances.

I find the whole thing a semantic minefield. Supposing for example Celtic sing about PLG being a "sad orange bastard". How is that discrimination against his race (gaulish?), colour (white), religion (none really and catholic at a stretch), language (French) or country of origin (France)? In fact calling Rangers fans "Dirty Orange Bastards" is not that discriminating when so few (percentage wise) at Ibrox are actually in the Orange Order which itself is not a race, colour or religion. The same goes for "fen1an bastards" as I'd be surprised if there are any Fen1ans in the Celtic crowd (or the fans of whatever team we're playing) and again it's not a religion, race or colour. "Soon there will be no protestants at all" is probably pretty prophetic as so few people go to church these days, least of all football fans. Not many people in the Rangers crowd can genuinely call themselves Protestants although many seem to think they are something called "Prods" which is more of a cult than a religion. Aberdeen's disgusting chants about the Ibrox disaster don't fall into the category either. So what exactly falls into the new rules?
-
Watched a bit of the game and he seemed solid but I'd rather have MacGregor. Guess who scored one of AZ's goals? One Shota Arveladze... You sometimes have to wonder what we do to players especially when playing them out of position.

I can't see how Rangers are stifling the Scotland team with 7 Scots as first team regulars of which 5 are home grown. If we sign Pressley that could go to 8 and 6 respectively. Even Hibs don't have 5 home grown players in the team anymore. Also it's a bit rich when you look at the Scottish players Rangers have offered money for, been turned down and then the player leaves six months later for free or a "nominal" fee. There are load of those but the two recent examples I remember are Webster and Riordan. So the not only have the other SPL teams thwarted Rangers from signing Scots they've also lost money to themselves and Scottish football which then goes abroad. Another example is SPL teams quoting outrageous sums for players, most recently Hibs are asking 3M each for Brown and Thomson who are 22 and on 1.5K a week. Compare that to us selling a 28 year player in his prime for 1M despite being on 25k a week and buying a young Frenchman equivalent to the Hibs pair for 1.2M. So I put it to you that it's the other SPL teams that are at fault, but lets blame Rangers anyway.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=rangers-3-hibs-0%26method=full%26objectid=18242596%26siteid=66633-name_page.html Sebo gets a slagging by the Record and 0 out of 10 for his player rating. I only seen the highlights but find it hard to disagree, no striker of quality would have missed BOTH those chances. Like I keep saying, he MAY come good but it looks like we'll have to wait a while... At the moment he shows no evidence at all of becoming a scoring sensation.

Gribz, you seem to just want a team full of all the foreign new guys... You make me think your preferred team is (in your 3-5-2 formation): ........................Letizi ..........Ponroy Svensson Papac Sionko Clement Hemdani N'daiye Martin ...................Sebo Stanger

Lennon got booed by the home crowd again yesterday, surely Dunfermline should be reported for sectarian and racist behaviour?

I think it's amazing how few goals Celtic are letting in when you look at who they have in defence. I don't think I'd want any of them yet they are far better than ours. Telfer, Caldwell, McManus ,Naylor with Bombscare Baldi in for Caught Cold Caldwell when he's injured. How the hell do they do it?
