PS there seems to be some people on here who take everything so personally. It's like some show on telly where they talk about Americans being the fattest nation on Earth and some stupid, skinny yank in the audience stands up and says, "That's not true, I'm American and I'm not fat!" Think about it...

Oh, what a lovely person you are... Someone stands up against the negative effects of smoking on non-smokers and your answer is violence. You make a great example for smokers everywhere. Not all Rangers fans are bigots but all smokers smoke. There is a difference there. It's more like saying that Rangers fans who shout *** are being offensive. Everything I said is true. I never said all smokers were the same but everything I said has happened due to smokers. Smoke and ash ARE smelly and dirty. If you smoke you create them. Where and when and how you dispose of it is the issue and unfortunately a significant number (I would say most) have a laissez-faire attitude towards it. Passive smoking is also proven to cause cancer and other medical problems. I don't know about you but many smokers do. Even smoking designated areas are covered in fag butts and ash when there are special bins with sand in provided. Have you seen pubs (before the ban) after closing time when there is ash and butts (and burns) all over the carpet? I've seen loads of smokers drop their lit butt and stamped it out on a pub carpet. How disrespectful is that? You just have to step in and out of a smoking carriage on a train to see and smell how dirty and smelly it is compared to the rest. Just have a look at the toilets on trains and again, they smell of ash and smoke, and have butts on the floor and burns all over the place. My garden even gets cigarette butts and packets dumped in it and I hate picking them up as they make your hands smell. I can remember not being able to sit on the grass outside a pub one summer as ever square foot had a few fag butts on it and this was a large grassy area. So you don't think discarded ash, butts, packets are dirty? You don't think smoke and ash are smelly. I HATE the fact that I can come home from a night out with my hair and clothes stinking of smoke - but you don't think smokers cause that? What planet are you on? I don't know whether you do or not, but smokers have done to me several times, that IS a fact. I know people who have had their couch or carpet burned too. Your personal abuse because you self personalise some facts, really show you up. What is it you are trying to achieve here? Am I really supposed to think "oh, she's got a point there..."? Do you really think you represent smokers? Yes, you're all so much nicer than I thought... A lot of smokers claim they'll never give up - they ENJOY it. Most don't care about the effect on others - or themselves. You have no answer, all you have is self denial and verbal and physical abuse for others who don't want to put up your smoke. And you accuse me of being narrow and small minded... brilliant! You really have humbled me with your well thought out defence of smokers...

If you got the guy to speak out against DM then surely there would be something on the website saying how great the thugs were...

And given the rest of us our freedom to have a drink in a clean, fresh environment where there are no toxic chemicals to make us ill or kill us. Yeah they fought for our freedom and then go round killing people with their smoke... When you save someone it doesn't give you the right to harm them any time you like.

Why should smokers get a room when all they'll do is drop ash and but-ends on the floor while browning the paint with their smoke? There is also the question of who has to clean it and whether that will affect their health. If smokers were generally clean and considerate of others, maybe they would get more of a break. Smokers kill us with their smoke, make our eyes water and smart, make us cough and feel ill, make us and our clothes smelly, burn our skin and clothes, dirty our clothes with their ash, ruin our meals with their smoke, make where-ever they go dirty, smelly and covered in ash and burns, and then they want sympathy when we try to protect people from the above? Hmm... Maybe they need a room but it's hard to care. There would have to be many of them which costs quite a bit of money just for the space and then you have to consider the ventilation, the cleaning and the redecoration. There's also the point that if you can't do without a cigarette for a couple of hours then you have an addiction - that means you are not smoking for pleasure, you are ruled by your cravings. Maybe then it's time to ask yourself if it's time to get back in control of your own body. You would advise an alcoholic to go to AA so why not do something similar for yourself. It would also not only benefit your health and longevity but would save you and your family a fortune. It's funny how people feel so staunchly that it's their right to be addicted to something that does nothing but harm...

His analogy does seem a bit weak with the only missing part of the spine being a central defender. Maybe he means we should have a big Scottish central defender - oh and play Boyd from the start. I think "If you come into a settled side with a lot of experienced players, it is a lot easier to settle in." is very true and applicable. We've only got a couple of experienced players who are pulling their weight - Dado and Barry. The only other three that could be considered experienced are Letizi, Rodriguez and Hemdani and only the latter is doing much at all for the team. I would prefer to play with about five experienced players and six young ones rather than three and eight.

McNee claims the line "if we go to Dublin" is sectarian????
calscot replied to a topic in Rangers Chat
It seems to me that going to Dublin as well as everywhere else is showing we're not prejudiced against anywhere. If we said we'll follow EXCEPT when they go to Dublin, I could understand. Typical, Celtic paranoia where even the bouncy is sectarian. I think there would be less sectarianism if the likes of McNee would go to the Wizard of Oz and get himself a brain. -
I was thinking the same thing about Pressley, not the most popular player and not the best ability, but he's ten times closer to what we need than what we've got and we should be able to get him for free and on a modest enough wage. We definitely need a stop gap at the back while we find someone of genuine class as well as the money for them.

So if I want to hit you over the head with a spade, you wouldn't mind if I do it? Cool... BTW I don't believe everyone should have the right to do what they want, anarchy doesn't appeal to me, so no back backers. Oh yeah, The IRA tend to do what they want, so do you back them? Or haven't you thought this naive philosophy through properly?
-
It is not under UEFA jurisdiction so UEFA will not get involved. Why do so many people not understand this? The SFA and SPL usually sweep it under the carpet. Therefore Celtic will get away with it, just like we have for years for non European games.

13 Signings actually but he has a point about 9 of them: For 1st team - 6 ---------------- Sebo, Sionko, Clement, Svensson, Papac, Letizi For squad - 3 ------------- N'Dayai, Martin, Bardsley For future - 4 ------------- Furman, Ponroy, Stanger, Loy This is where he has really failed so far. He inherited a team of underachievers and it was obvious that we needed to get rid of the deadwood and bring in at least 5 or 6 new players who would be first choices to really shake up the team. He brought in six plus three more for the squad and had his choices been successful (and no injuries) then at least 7 would be playing from the start with the five best players of the inherited squad - Ferguson, Prso, Boyd, Burke and Smith giving a team of say: ..........................Letizi Bardsley....Svensson....Papac....Smith ...............Ferguson....Clement ...........Burke........Sebo........Sionko ..........................Boyd with MacGregor, Rodriguez, Murray, N'Dayai, Martin, Prso and Buffel on the bench. The fact that only Svensson (who has already proved a bit dodgy) and Clement (who has only really showed flashes of promise) got a start on Sunday reflects badly on Le Guen. It means we still need 5 new players even though we signed 9. THAT is our biggest problem. The other failure is that he has also failed to make the same players he inherited play any better than Eck did. In fact they are playing worse. A lot of us didn't rate Eck so to do worse than him is pretty damning. At the same time he is demotivating players like MacGregor (sorted now) and Boyd as well as others such as Bardsley, Hutton, Svensson, Rodriguez, Papac, Sionko, Sebo, Rae and Buffel. The latter group have brought it on themselves but you can see that we have an unhappy squad. That is another failure by Le Guen. I'm not saying PLG is the wrong man for the job as he was my favourite before he came (except perhaps Co Adriansse) but I' saying he has so far failed in three important parts of his job: Recruitment, Coaching and Motivation. You can probably add Tactics and Media Relations to that list too. These are the big problems for the manager but does anyone see him tackling any of them? He needs to recruit better players in January, coach the present one's into playing a lot better, get the team motivated, happy and playing for him, change his tactics for the SPL and start dealing with the media properly like an OF manager should. Talking of motivation does anyone feel that he has brought the same kind of mood at Ibrox that Advocaat had just before he was moved upstairs and Eck took over?

The report on the website is another huge black mark against Murray and paints him in the same light as many a dictator with a propaganda machine. Encouraging violence against peaceful protesters is disgusting and straight out of the mantra for the Hitler youth. Mr Murray you should be ashamed of yourself, this is indeed a new low.
-
It seems to me that the biggest misconception about the Pro-Murray fans is that they believe that DM spent his personal money out of his pocket on the likes of Flo, Prodan, Kanchelskis, Konterman, Ricksen and Hendry. Perhaps they should be worshipping the Bank of Scotland instead... However he did, spend his own money on the share issue, but that was in return for more shares and he should be able to get this money back and that's not counting the millions he's made from Rangers in his business dealings. In the end, when Murray has sold up and we're in the black. Everything that is Rangers will have be paid for, directly and indirectly out the pocket of its customers, the vast majority of whom are Rangers fans (some customers aren't fans eg the away fans, neutrals, spouses etc).

PS The record gave a glowing report about the "immaculate" minute's silence at Ibrox.
-
I played Sunday league yesterday - the 12th, no FA directive but we all did a minute's silence... However, I don't go for the fascism of forcing people to do a silence. You should remember because you want to and think it's important, not because you are forced to.

Just because you pay for your ticket doesn't mean that you can do what you like without any moral obligations. Imagine loads of people started walking out of the theatre or cinema with 10 minutes to go and when questioned went on about "I pay for my ticket". If you don't want to see the end then fair enough but you should think about the other fans whom you are disrupting and I'm sure it's somewhat distracting for the players no matter how professional they are. You do have the right to leave early but others also have the right not to respect you for it or indeed be very annoyed at you for it. There are good excuses and poor excuses for it but if you do it regularly then there is no excuse and maybe you should ask yourself if you really want to be there at all - after all there's load of other things you might enjoy spending your money on... One thing I think would help is for some full time entertainment to encourage some of the crowd to stay a bit longer. Maybe after the whistle they should put on the full time analysis by a couple of pundits on the big screens with the normal interviews from the managers and a couple of players - just like they do when you're watching it live on telly. And then show Setanta's full time SPL highlights at 5pm. Or how about a full time crossbar challenge by the first team as part of their warm down? That might keep enough people in the stadium to allow others to leave at full time with less traffic jams. That is, the people leaving at full time are now the one's leaving "early". It's definitely worth a shot.
-
Maybe, but sometimes I keep thinking that a bad result will give PLG a wake up call but every time he seems to ignore them. So perhaps he needs a wake up call that hits him between the eyes (metaphorically). Hopefully any protest will be directed a DM. He really needs to be shown where he stands with the fans.

Only by choice. We can afford a higher level of debt as long as we manage it well. There is a time to be debt free and a time to borrow. Unfortunately Mr Murray has got those times 100% mixed up. You need to spend your way out of trouble and pay it back when things are more abundant. You borrow during famine and pay it back when you can feast. We borrowed when we were feasting and paid it back during famine. Debt is not a bad thing if it is say 20% of you turnover. It IS a very bad thing if it is 120% of turnover. It's all relative. Unfortunately DM and many fans seem to see things more black and white and used to think debt == good, now they think debt == bad. God knows how DM got to be a multi-millionaire with those attitudes. He's definitely far more reactive than proactive.

Let's give him to the end of the season but I think he should be fined one weeks wages for every draw and three weeks for every loss. The money can go to the transfer kitty. Right now I think he owes us out of his savings as his fine would now be about 20 weeks wages. Perhaps we should do the same for every player and our transfer kitty wouldn't look so bad - in fact I think we'd have about 6M quid.
-
The way our centrebacks are playing I think we need four of them rather than three. I' m now all for 6-3-1...
-
I would swap it for a Rangers win any day...
-
I think he will release a statement that will just repeat all the old bullshit. Oh yeah and there's going to be a massive injection of money that will shock people and the manager will get significant funds...
-
Maybe it will sink home when say 10,000 season ticket holders don't renew...
-
Yes it did, he and Boumsong (and Klos) had a great goals against record with about 7 goals in half a season in the league.

We have to drop to 16th in the rankings to lose our 2nd place - we're presently 12th. When we dropped to 10th last year we lost our automatic qualification for the champions, Celtic got in due to new rules about club coefficients and an amazing number of coincidental factors.
