  1. FF is notorious for banning users who fart in the wrong direction. There's a real lack of freedom of speech on there. I had a look at RM as well the other day - it's not so bad for banning, well, from my days on there, dunno how it is now, but the content is just trash. Anything goes. So you have one forum which only allows a strict code of opinion, while another will allow pretty much anything on. Gersnet is the best compromise. There was Gersforum a long time ago but they really don't like me on there. Well, a couple of the admin don't anyway.
  2. So, it'll be announced tomorrow... I'm beyond sick of this crap.
  3. As a biased motherfucker, Miller, McGregor or Jelavic should have got it.
  4. The whole Miller situation is a dead end - we bought him at a time when his stock was average. We could afford his wages because they weren't astronomical, and the transfer fee was a modest £2M. While with us he became a much, much better player, worth more than £2M and more than the average wages we were paying him. He knew this, and wanted to be paid what he believed he was worth. Had we been able to afford it, he'd have stayed - he didn't care about our financial turbulence, all he cared about, as most players do was being paid what he felt his play merited. We couldn't afford the inevitable hike, so he went somewhere that could. I don't really grudge him the move - he wasn't a dyed in the wool bear, he just did us a very good turn and produced great form - and when we could no longer afford him, he reluctantly moved on. It was also rather an incentive that Bursaspor pay him £50K a week. As far as I can see, it is really as simple as that.
  5. Apologies, I'm going by what I've seen on Twitter and Facebook because I've seen it nowhere else, but Jelavic apparently won GOTS, presumably for his strike V Aberdeen. And seems that Izzaguirre won SPFA POTY. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13256003.stm
  6. You're right that Celtic are much better this year than they were last - they've made some good signings and at times have played effective and tactically robust football which has had the beating of us on a few occasions. However, and this is where it gets interesting. The fact that a weak Rangers, financially crippled, with a threadbare squad, playing defensive and turgid football, with little or no rotation and plenty of players off form...is still challenging and could realistically win the SPL shows how poor Celtic are compared with what they should be. They have no financial problems, have a huge squad, there's some media bias in their favour at the minute, and their manager is frankly quite good. Yet they're not clear by a mile of this stricken Rangers team. That tells you something.
  7. If any one individual may have cost us the league, it's Ian Black.
  8. McCourt has a clear lead now. I haven't even seen that particular goal.
  9. And he might be getting sanctioned for it because you're not allowed personal messages on shirts.
  10. Miller scored a lot of goals, 22 in 6 months. Truth is though, Jelavic has been equally if not more prolific - 13 in about 2 or 3 full months of football at top form. If you discount his time taken to get used to the league, and his time out through injury then getting back up to speed, then he's basically given us barely 3 months - and 13 goals in that time is pretty bloody impressive. So, if you want the absolute truth, his injury is what has made this season so close. If we'd had him for the whole lot, we'd be clear by a decent margin by now.
  11. Holding a candlelight vigil is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I was sure it was a wind up last night when I heard about it.
  12. So that account really is Weiss for sure?
  13. Sorry to post this in Rangers chat but it seems more than relevant to us so I chose this forum. If any mod disagrees, fair enough, shift it. While I don't condone any person being targetted with a bomb, all the press and media outlets do is look at the act. They don't look at the cause or the past baggage. As Frankie has so eloquently put it in the past, Lennon is someone with a tarnished past, who has provoked, incited and wound up at every opportunity. This was especially prevalent in his playing days where he flagrantly wound up Rangers fans, being incendiary beyond words. He is a known bigot himself and has always been at the centre of controversy and confrontation. When I heard he'd been targetted with a parcel bomb, quite honestly my sympathy stretched thin. Don't get me wrong, it's not right to want to 'maim or kill' anyone, but Lennon has poked the bear (quite literally) and has now provoked some maniac to target him. He's provided the ammo, and now some madman or woman has pulled the trigger. McBride is the same - his outspoken rant belittling in colourful language both the SFA and Rangers appealed similarly to the lowest common demoninator in Scottish football, and the result was the sending of a bomb. I don't know much about the politician, but publicly showing off your colours in the way she did wasn't the wisest thing to do. She is though, by far, the least guilty of the parties and has my most genuine sympathy. Frankie raised El Hadji - tbh, we're lucky he has so far not provoked something similar because he too is winding up opposition fans and being incendiary to stupid degrees. I should say; I am not condoning any of these acts, it is wrong and dangerous and was certainly carried out by a sick person or persons. But ours is an ill society and behaving in irresponsible ways can only lead to dire consequences. Those in the OF should behave themselves. Pity some never really have.
  14. I reported this some time ago. And no, I don't know a lot about him.
  15. Unlike Rangers
  16. 'Farce', 'ridiculous', 'insane', 'ludicrous', 'comical'. None of these words come close to describing this charade - what a repulsive mess of a soap opera this has turned into.
  17. Infighting is exactly the problem. The morons, buffoons, aggressors, bigots etc I see on RM and FF gives a wider scope to what the average fan is like. And I don't want a lot of the people like those on there to control Rangers. It would destroy us.
  18. I'm no accountant but there's no guarantee a share issue would raise enough. And it also means the fans own the club, which I don't like.
  19. Having seen Panorama's programme on Russell King last night, the fraudster who nearly ruined Notts County, maybe it is prudent to be absolutely sure Whyte really does have the money he claims to. And if the club is not convinced that he does, then I'm almost willing to accept their dubiety because I don't want some pseudo con man wrecking the club.
  20. Can some mod merge my thread into this. Didn't see this one.
  21. I'm no financier and barely know what half these words mean, but it seems they're saying the board are unconvinced by Whyte and his ability to put his money where his mouth is. And that someone on the board has some other solution to the pickle we're in.
  22. So basically they're not convinced by Craig Whyte, and don't see all the money?
  23. I'm not sure I trust the current board. After all, aren't they part of the current problem. And Johnston has been a lousy chairman, as was McLelland. And Bain is just far too orange for my liking. Point is, I'd like Whyte to come in, bring in money, his own people, and overhaul this club right where it needs fixing. Then start working on the team. Start with the rotten foundations then plaster it all up properly. Don't just paper over the cracks.
  24. Been posted in a rather low key manner elsewhere. I was disappointed with him saying that publicly - but then isn't Walter Smith saying similar things. We know this crap goes on around the country yet our own management are condemning certain fans within our support. I know they say 'get your own house in order' but I think there should be parity. It really does feel a bit like a witchhunt.
  25. I know he's not been at his best, indeed I posted about the 600K link with QPR saying I feel he's actually worth that now, albeit that may be harsh on reflection...so I am a fairly big critic of his displays this season; my point is no Rangers player should encourage any other to leave.
