  1. I'm going out on a limb and saying it's an appointment designed to make as few players leave as possible.
  2. I totally understand and agree with this protest, but I just think SFA will use it against us.

Speaking of Given, I rate him very highly. But I have to admit Mancini was spot on choosing Hart. Been sensational this season.
  4. AVB couldn't cope with Chelsea. Yeah, he's perfect for Catalonia!
  5. April 1st is <--------- that way Gazza.
  6. Ha, it's a genuine shock Uncle Walter has not found a good gig since becoming unemployed.
  7. So I see. It will be very interesting to see what they come up with. They have incredible players, but I'm very curious as to how they will respond to this significant change at the Camp Nou. tbh I wouldn't be 100% shocked if Messi considered his options. Problem is only one club one earth can afford his £230M buy-out clause. And maybe he'd rather stay with Barca. Then again, if Figo could do it...
  8. This is the kind of post I wouldn't expect to see on this forum.
  9. Pep's quit. As I suggested, Catalan domination is quite possibly coming to an end. Not because he was a great manager, but because others may follow him.
  10. It's odd, I'm actually on both sides. I think Ally was right to question what fools came up with this frankly ludicrous and dangerous decision, but at the same time I can actually also see the point that any figurehead who berates the authorities is indirectly responsible for provoking the morons among his teams' support. It happened with Lennon, and if I am fair and honest, Ally has maybe done it too. Difference is Lennon was incredibly insulting and brought the game into disrepute. Ally just made a fair point. But maybe it was one that he, in hindsight, might have have kept more quiet because we do have tits in our support who would act stupidly and dangerously.
  11. Diving, cheating, and the fact they whine to referees acting like spoiled brats who don't get their way. They also get more than their fair share of fortunate calls. I mean take Messi - he shoved Lampard full in the chest on Tuesday yet got off scott-free.
  12. Don't we make our own shirts these days? It was moved in house some years back. Sure of it.
  13. English has had praise from you guys on here before. Suddenly he writes something you don't like and you insult his character? Maybe it's what he feels? And to answer what he thinks of Lennon: You all lauded him for this article, now you're slating him. Maybe he's just giving his opinion, whether you agree or not?
  14. These days it's unbelievably plain. It's not horrible, just the whole retro thing is a bit bland. But I have a question, how can we afford to put out a new shirt if we have no money?

    SFA hypocrisy

I found it actually ridiculous that Lennon is up for MOTY. They're rewarding the most ill-mannered foul-behaving man to manage either side of the OF in both's history. As much as I've disliked previous Celtic managers, of course, none have ever behaved even remotely as disgustingly as Lennon has. Yet he's getting a reward for it - for being gifted the league thanks to Craig Whyte. Incred-deeble.
  16. How...does this prove the English bubble is bursting? All it says is Championship clubs need to spend more responsibly.
  17. A lot of people blame SDM for this, when the reality is Whyte's illegal activities with PAYE forced this. SDM isn't innocent, but administration was forced by Whyte. We didn't have to end up in this position.
  18. I've hated Barca for seasons actually Craig. But I've also recognised their quality. This season they just haven't been as good. I guess we should just move on because we don't appear to be understanding each other.
  19. I didn't say that. I said I prefer Ronaldo. I'd suggest they're equal in terms of ability.
  20. 2 points: 1: Once again I implore you all to ignore surveys. I've ranted about it a million times, so you know why I feel this way. 2: From what I gather about that particular one, it was worse than the norm, because the question structure was changed half way through in order to achieve the desired statistical outcome.
  21. Unfortunately there's not a lot of sensible football fans in Scotland.
  22. I hear you completely, but the SFA and the actions of the bureaucracy in this country have made our stay here untenable. Only tonight it appears the authorities are giving Ally pelters for his comments about the SFA panel, leading apparently to police intervention. Yet when Lennon does it he by and large gets away with it, and sure as hell no police get involved. Didn't see any cops involved with the knife incident aimed at Findlay, but they went mental regarding the bomb towards Lennon. The authorities, in this country, are showing increasing disdain for Rangers and a bizarre pro-Celtic agenda. You guys all know I'm the last one to ever buy into conspiracy theories, but given this season, I'm finding it harder to keep my head above water. My goal would personally be to spend the 5 years working through the leagues to achieve Championship status. Develop in there, build up a solid financial base, and then eventually get promotion when we're ready and capable. PS: We are currently playing in the backwaters. The only time we don't is when it's against Celtic. The SPL is no higher than League 1 level. People have been saying the English bubble is about to burst for about 5 years. Truth is it just keeps getting stronger. Our history will remain. You know why? Without us, Celtic will falter - they'll no longer have the TV revenue, and they'll lose a lot of fans simply because there's no Rangers for them to hate any more. A lot of their players will leave given they won't have the same income to pay the high wages, and after a while they'll be at a similar level to the rest of the league. I cannot see Celtic remaining at their current level indefinitely if Rangers are not there as the flip side of the coin and all we bring to the SPL. Not an option I'm fond of. Good post though Zaps, all good points you've made.

    Big Eck

Given his record I'm surprised how poorly Villa have done this year. Yes, it usually falls apart for Eck after a while and he moves on, but his first season or two at a new club usually starts very well indeed. So I was certain Villa would have a solid season. But it's gone really poorly.
  24. Stunning 28 minutes which, if it had sustained, would have easily been the greatest CL match I think I'd ever seen. Problem was it lost its way after the half hour mark and the rest of the game was actually quite tame.
  25. Can't argue with that record, but our point is this season. They've not dominated in Spain like they had previously, and for the first time CL opponents figured out their tactics on more than one occasion. Milan did it and were extremely unfortunate to lose to them, and Chelsea succeeded. They've lost 5 matches in La Liga this season, compared with 3 and 2 the previous years. I'm not saying they're suddenly shite, I'm saying the bigger teams with the quality to do so have learned how to nullify their free-flowing play, and they have no plan B because of their style. In actual fact the first team to do so was Jose's Inter in 2010 I believe it was - and they went onto win the CL that year. Their display was about rock solid defending and effective counter-attacking.
