Absolutely. He wears a blue cape at night. No he isn't. He's no better than the backups we've had in the past like Snelders and Maxwell. I'd rather have Given than Gordon. But McGregor isn't for sale anyway.

Really shocked that he's knocked back big wages - his arrogance is not backed up by ability despite a decent season. He can leave. I did wonder why the papers this morning headlined with a �£2M tag for Whittaker.

You seem to be missing the fact the SPL is spread across both, and the CL is mostly on Sky. I have no option if I want coverage.

I'd be gutted with Alexander as our permanent goalie. He's not good enough to be first choice.

Gersnet not large but I've been concertedly using it for a fair while and haven't come up against anything like the problems I have elsewhere. The reason for this probably IS because it's small. The bigger these forums get, the more baggage comes with it and you end up with a bit of a mess. RM wasn't always like it currently is. I can't really speak for FF.

I stopped going to the pub to watch football for this exact reason a very long time ago. That's why I bit the bullet and ordered Sky and ESPN.

This is the kind of bid I feared - one which actually matches his real value. You can buy a lot of players with �£12M, but McGregor is worth his weight in gold and personally despite the amount, I'd rather keep him. He wants to stay, so if this story is true, and Wenger bids 12M for him, it really is up to the owner.

It's really annoying that the SPL is divided between Sky and ESPN. On Virgin if you don't have the XL package, it's �£30 a month for both Sky Sports collection and ESPN. If you do have XL ESPN is free. And Sky TV it's 30 quid or so both Sky and ESPN no matter what package you're on.

I'd take him for a million, but while I would maybe accept he may be worth more, he's not a player I feel should be a priority for that price. Cuellar, yes. Goodwillie, no.

Don't see how a speculative comment from a rival manager 'proves' we don't have a fair chunk of cash. We have a rebuild to do and no one knows how much money we have for that. We don't know that we're skint for signings and we don't know we have a massive amount. Put simply, the only way of knowing is by the hard signings we make, and only time will tell. One small clue we do have is the report that we've put in a formal �£2.5M bid for Cuellar. If that is true, then Houston's comments that Goodwillie is too expensive for us means we don't agree with the price. But we can afford it.

It's an extreme and rather right wing site. It's the kind of site which would ban anyone for not following a particular consensus. That summer (2008) was the point of no return for RM - it became a very messy and scattered forum, and I tried to stop it becoming that way but the powers that be are and were more interested in bandwidth and traffic than the quality of posts. It's generally a badly moderated forum, not because the mods are poor, but because the admin and a couple in particular have set the place up badly in recent years. The only minority opinions I have no time for are those which insult me or other supporters for holding a particular view. I don't mind what you say, as long as it respects me and those who think like me, just like I respect those who have different opinions to me. I still strongly disagree with your comments about Smith, but you put them in a respectful fashion, aware they were not a majority viewpoint.

Conway I really, really don't care about. Wilson I'd be disappointed to lose out on. A partnership of him and Cuellar next season is mouthwatering.

I'm not overly thrilled about Goodwillie. There is no denying he's a good player, and deserved YPOTY, but somehow I don't feel signing him should be that high on our list of priorities. I do think he's worth 2M, but I'm just not that bothered if we don't get him.

Timmy is more concerned with making a 'God' of their manager than they are about success. It's all about 'defiance', identifying with a manager who supposedly symbolises them. He's a pariah to them, which for them is their status too. But it would be no lie to point out they were a much greater threat under him than the likes of Mowbray and WGS by the end of his time there. Overall in OF matches they had the slight edge, with 3 wins to our 2, and 2 draws. So while I'm glad they're more obsessed with being persecuted and defying it thanks to their glorious manager, they'll be a tough team to win the league against with him in charge next season. I just hope Ally's up to it.

Celtic haven't signed anyone either. I'm not hugely worried that we haven't brought anyone in yet - we've got a month before the season starts. We're clearly working on bringing players in, but these days it's a process which takes time. This is the speculation period for all clubs.
