  1. I would quite happily exchange all our current strikers (Boyd, Miller, Lafferty, Novo, Naismith and Velicka) for two of better quality.
  2. What did we all think when Neil McCann signed? Good enough or Not? From all the rumours going round regarding O'Brien and Conway (Dun Utd) it's apparent the press think we will add some width. I don't think there are many in the SPL who I'd want to sign but I reckon Driver (Hearts) would be a good (but more expensive) signing. What about Commons of Derby I think. How much would he cost?
  3. If McDowall is our head scout then what does Sandy Jardine do these days
  4. Can't say I've heard of Tidser. That must be quite a list of targets already considering we haven't bought a player for almost two years.
  5. Zander Diamonds cousin A bosman also. I wonder how these names crop up when Walter has said he doesn't know his budget therefore how can he know who he wants.
  6. because we are under contract with JJB Sports and Umbro.
  7. Walter obviously rates McCarthur ans may try to get him for a reasonable fee now rather than see him go to England where he wont be able to afford him in the future a l¡ Dorrans. However, I do not see central midfield as an area we need to strengthen especially with Edu, Thomson and McCulloch unlikely to move and Davis (arguably our most effective central midfield player) unable to command a place in central midfield - or could Davis be moving? We should be concentrating on the wide areas and looking to sign a striker capable of playing up front on his own (Walters Euro preference) that is mobile, good in the air and reasonably prolific.
  8. :mb: Our best creative attacking threat and best defender!
  9. :me: I too thought Edu had a decent game but over on FF they seem to think he was poor. He was by no means great but was the best of a bad bunch in my eyes.
  10. Appreciate the update NL. A fine job you are doing and hopefully Ellis is the real deal and has the necessary funds to turn us around. It would be great if the deal could also involve the supporters investing and gaining a say in the running of the club.
  11. Are there any other interested parties? Did Mr Ellis have exclusivity during DD?
  12. I've got mixed feelings on this one. If we secure new investment then Beasley can go since we should be able to invest in a replacement. If the opposite then we will have a CL campaign in which Beasley could be a useful.
  13. I read at the weekend that Wilson was on the verge of signing a new contract. Perhaps thios is mischeif making by his agent to get a better deal or by the media to unsettle him. Spurs (or rather Redknapp) have been long term admirers but considering the money Man Utd paid for a young centre half recently I'd be looking for at least double the figure mentioned in the article.
  14. Not many takers on the MoTM vote I see. Have to agree. Papac just because he scored.
  15. Does anyone have any indication on when the RST may be able to offer more information on wether their plan is a goer? I appreciate it's difficult but one thing we've all agreed on through all these takeover rumours is that we need clarity. The support cannot be expected to blindly back any deal that sees Murray's days come to an end.
  16. If the game goes ahead then I predict 0-2 Naismith and Weir
  17. If we were to secure a new owner with fresh investment then I wouldn't be overly concerened at losing Boyd IF he was replacement was real quality. Yes we would miss his goals but a more mobile skillful player may improve our play. I don't think Boyd will decide on his future until Walter, Ally and Kenny make their plans clear.
  18. I too watched the Man Utd v Liverpool game and thought both incidents were similar - one outside the box and one inside the box - that's the only difference. A straight red card was extremely harsh. The refereeing decisions were poor all day at the cup final yesterday.
  19. I would imagine he could OR he could buy out SDM and agree some finance deal with Lloyds or another bank to service the remaining debt. I'm a little concerned that it's Ellis on his own and how is he financing this deal and what the repercussions are likely to be. How is Mr Ellis going to fund the buy out, stadium development and squad investment? Precisely why we need the facts before he is allowed to take control. I assume he cannot come clean due to legal issues but am I right in thinking he could take over before we know what his plans are?
  20. I appreciate that. Invaluable information from N_L straight from the horses mouth. I'm more than a little susprised Mr Ellis took time out from a meeting to take a call from someone he doesn't know but credit to him for that.
  21. Since you have his mobile number could you text him a few more questions Like, is he the money man or part of a consortium? Is he in the process of looking at the books? and when does he expect to be in a position to reveal more? Finally, is he aware of other interested parties?
  22. Failure to beat us on the pitch so they resort to trying to have points deducted from us
  23. Does anyone have any information on who this alleged Far East Consortium are? Are they ex-pats or can we expect a Carson Yeung type?
  24. Wasn't Souness allegedly involved in another consortium? I feel wheeling Souness out at some stage will certainly suggest that there are some Rangers people on board with this bid. The fact Mr Ellis hasn't spoken at this point makes me at least think he is a serious player and not a Michael Knighton type who is just after 15 minutes of fame. If Mr Ellis looked at West Ham and Portsmouth but decided on Rangers then I applaud him as he hasn't decided the premiership is the be all and end all of football.
