  1. One can only imagine the mess the books will be in with Murray shifting money from one company to another and outstanding transfer fees (in and out). How long will it take Mr Ellis (or anyone else) to gain a clear understanding of where we stand as a club.
  2. Goncalves is a good player and versatile as well. However, if we are to lose Bougherra I would prefer a more commanding centre half than Tonel. Is Goncalves available on a bosman or has he agreed terms elsewhere?
  3. You've mentioned Tonel quite a few times now Frankie. I appreciate he was a target when we had funds but if Walter doesn't stay on isn't it more likely a new manager will identify his own targets?
  4. That would be odd would it not considering Bain was named as part of the consideration panel only yesterday. If true is Bain against the Ellis deal or perhaps a conflict of interest has arisen with regard to another interested party.
  5. Still surprisingly little in todays news about Mr Ellis. I would have thought the red tops would be scurrying around trying to find out as much as they can or even make things up to fill some column inches - but nothing new today as far as I can see. I heard on Real Radio last night Cameron saying that Mr Ellis has been looking to invest in a club for some time and having looked at West Ham and another premiership sides (maybe Portsmouth) he decided Rangers were better value and stood a better chance of success (obviously). One thing I'd like to know (and I'm sure others would too) is can we expect King, Murray and Park to up their initial verbal offer now Mr Ellis has joined them on the dance floor?
  6. Anyone any idea as to what discussions have already taken place, what timescales are we looking at and can Mr Ellis speak publically about his intentions?
  7. Having Numan based in Holland and coaching / scouting young Dutch talent we could do a hell of a lot worse than have him on a retainer and get first word on emerging players.
  8. Superb! You should get some t-shirts made
  9. Impartiality as a pundit should be a prerequisite. I appreciate that may be difficult when passions run so high in an old firm derby but I don't think McCann would have been so cutting had Celtic won. Nicholas should not be present at any future old firm games covered by Sky as he does not have the professional attitude or intelligence to offer any isnightful analysis. Having said all that he is excellent comedy value and it was very evident just how much he was hurting:giruy:
  10. That will always be the stick we and everyone else uses to beat him with. One could argue tactics deployed in Europe do not suit Boyd i.e. we are rarely dominant and creating chance after chance with balls into the box - Boyd isn't a back to goal striker. Perhaps if we had better players around Boyd then his goal scoring ability would be appreciated more. I was actually quite surprised to hear Boyd say his future was linked to Walters since it was Walter Smith who left him out of a lot of big games and rarely selected him in European competition - perhaps they have a mutual respect now.
  11. Maybe I ran off topic a little I was looking for more information on Mr Park - age, health etc? Everyone's heard of Parks Motor Group and Parks Buses etc but very little is known about Mr Park - he may be a lifelong fan I don't know - very similar to Dave King in that we don't know who they are and can they be trusted or are they akin to David Murray?
  12. I don't know how relevant it is but what age is Douglas Park? Does he have a long term sustanaible plan? SDM has grown tired of Rangers and his siblings have no interest in Rangers. Does he have the necessary funds on his own? What are his timescales - before the end of the season or in the summer after we have lost some of our best assets?
  13. I think Ethan Hunt would do well to pick out a man of the match from our lot tonight. I don't think anyone was any better than anyone else.
  14. Where have you seen this? Surely it wouldn't stop them revealing who they are though
  15. I think the "difficulties" with the consortium alluded to by barrybaldy on his FF post suggest Dave King isn't in a position to buy our club. His tax case in SA was due to be heard back in November 2009 but was postponed until March 2010.
  16. I couldn't agree more Frankie. Why should we show support for them when we don't know who they are. Fair enough we could protest against Muir but I don't think that would be effective or quick. Someone has to take leadership of this consortium and stick their head up above the trenches.
  17. Your guess would be better than mine I think.
  18. What I gathered from the thread on FF - King couldn't commit at the moment but if the consortium was successful he could or would return once his position re. SARS was clearer or resolved. That's just my interpretation though. I have no idea who the other members are.
  19. Tonel again! Is he out of contract or do you think talks took place at the same time as the Mendes transfer?
  20. He (sccgers) didn't say who stepped away but did indicate it was King i.e. not able to commit due to circumstances. However, he did say the fella that backed out had been replaced and that there are still 4 (maybe more) who have more than enough to get the club back on an even keel. A 2nd offer is expected soon but they don't expect this to succeed but it may lead to more negotiatiosn with the bank as to what figure they would find acceptable. Walters comments in todays press I guess are intended to raise the profile of the mess we are in again and possibly to put more pressure on the bank if the support can mobilise some sort of protest against Lloyds. Although I don't know reallistically what more can be done.
  21. Or alternatively if we do lose anyone we have a little longer to replace them
  22. Evening Times are reporting the Poulsen deal as only needing Advocaats blessing. No mention of any other player.
