  1. Gerrard has definitely made Gers more durable this year and much more comfortable on the ball, only small changes I know given there hasn't been wholesale squad changes, but this making a world of difference and improving confidence.
  2. Brighton 0-2 City Burnley 2-1 Arsenal Palace 2-1 Bournemouth Fulham 2-0 Mags Brendan Blues 1-1 Chelsea Liverpool 3-2 Wolves United 2-0 Cardiff So’ton 2-0 Town ‘Spurs 1-1 Toffees Watford 1-1 Hammers Liverpool champions. Championship Play Offs: Villa 2-1 WBA Derby 1-0 Leeds
  3. Archibald Leitch, gave Gus Mears the original outline of a new ground in West London that Gus hoped that existing league team Fulham would move into, after they declined he decided to form his own club and in 1905 Chelsea FC were formed with Leitch's stadium able to hold 100,000.
  4. Class player from a classic era.
  5. Great news. Having seen Stevie G up close many times at the Bridge, he comes across as quietly effective and someone who leads by example. He often dragged an average Liverpool side to greater things (CL and FAC winners) and I'm sure with the right backing he can get more out of the existing players, develop some of the youngsters and attract some quality through his contacts. All in all a win/win for Gers I think.
  6. Yes soz, he is a bit older but good for 2 seasons if no transfer fee.
  7. Joey Barton has had a very good season for Burnley and QPR / Newcastle were always better with him in the side. He is 29 with over 240 PL appearances and 70 championship/French PL and his misdemeanours seem to have ended in 2012 aged 25, so he was v young when some of that stuff happened. I think he will add steel and he can certainly pick a pass and puts in a shift. And no, before you ask, I'm not his agent or his mum
  8. I would love to see that Aweebluesoanso, primarily the former!
  9. I agree JFK, in addition to their cultural standing, there would be an upsurge in match day violence as all of those clubs fans I mentioned in my original post would have no truck with that kind of anti British chanting or denigration of the flag. I cannot see it happening if I'm honest, but would just love it if Rangers proactively began discussions with the FL just to test the water. That would worry the SFA and prompt a reaction from Celtic - then and only then will we see if all those decades of will be swept away for the sake of the British Pound!!!
  10. That's something I hadn't thought of Pete, as Celtic always mentioned in the same breath as Rangers when anyone considers this - I expect its the media wanting either wanting to appear impartial or just being lazy. But if asked, yes I'd expect Celtic to turn it down.
  11. Not a troll JFK, I rarely post anywhere, only on subjects I care about.
  12. Thanks Club Legend, I was interested if there was any shift in fans views on this subject given recent events, whilst hopefully not appearing to denegrate Scottish football.
  13. First post here guys so don't bite my head off. Curious to get your views on the proposal to add another division to the Football League in England and again the press have been asking down south whether Rangers and Celtic should join. I don't know why they always cite Celtic as well, as they are more than happy playing the big fish in a small pond (as they have done for last few years) and well supported also in the current political make up of Scotland ( one example being Nicola Sturgeon failing to mention the trouble at the final) Would it be something that Rangers FC would consider, and would the fans? Rangers would be welcomed with open arms with revenue boosts both ways, plus more competition as I'd expect Rangers would start life maybe in Div 1 for a quick promotion into the championship with some very large clubs in there? Currently Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Wolves, Sheff W, Norwich, Bristol c, Cardiff, and many more with 20-50k crowds each week away and sell outs at Ibrox? Is it a consideration or just a pipe dream? I feel the previous punishment of demotion went further than just that, it felt as if the rest of Scottish football supported the punishment not because of what went on, but because of who Ranger are and what they represent. Do Rangers feel wanted or loved by the SFA and the other clubs? Anyway enough of my ramblings, feel free to pick this to bits, it will be interesting to get your views not those of the press!
