Cheers Chilledbear. A younger man than Weir might have got in front of Finnigan to block his effort! Though the defending for Miller's first was worse right enough. Took his second very well. The kind of direct forward play and clinical striking I would like to see from him more often.

Current rumour doing the rounds. No mention of fee or club invovled. Slightly less believable rumour of Lovenkrands returning.

I haven't read the full thread, assumed Andy's comments were aimed at the media crusaders. Have I got the wrong end of the stick by not reading it all? -
Would've lost to Holland. Agreed. More likely to have beaten Norway at Hampden and still beaten Iceland. Prior to the most recent match with Norway we would have been 3 points better off compared to them. They would have already been (all but) out. Might very well have made that match completely different. At worst though we would most likely be 2 points better off, sitting in 2nd right now with Norway 1 point worse off and out of contention for 2nd really. Leaving only Macedonia to compete with. Those 2 points could well be the difference between getting a play-off place or not.

Tilting at windmills. Pretty good point Andy. If they are crusaders for moral virtue, is football really the right place to start to save society? -
Something is not right. We cannot go through this season and expect to compete without another CB in the squad. And although we got a good result today, today's squad showed the situation we could find ourselves in at several points throughout the season if we suffered a few injuries to key players. The lack of squad strength is a worry for the coming season. I would love it if you were right regarding investment. Unfortunately I just don't see it. No source or evidence, like yourself, just gut feeling.

Why? Need a shit right back at Hull?
-
Could've done with this the last 3 or 4 qualifiers:
-
We're so short of numbers he couldn't leave Boyd out even if he wanted to. Youth players are going to have to be ready. They wont have a choice.
-
Should still have too much for Falkirk. I just don't like the look of it.
-
I dunno enough about the finances tbh mate. Mind you, outwith the club who does? A response to the OP I saw elsewhere made a good point though. How can the bank be running the show? Would be like you or me having an overdraft and the bank telling you to sell your tv. Surely the idea of the bank calling the shots is therefore nonsense.
-
Don't fancy that midfield against 4/5 Falkirk players in the midfield. We've been over run enough with a 4 man midfield in the past. And that was a midfield of higher quality.
-
Looking at that I don't think we have enough quality in the middle of the park to go 4-3-3. Pack the midfield, safety in numbers. Ps. Thomson is also out tomorrow is he not? Papac and Lafferty suspended.
-
On the plus side we might get rid of Beasley.
-
Said as much 3 games or so ago mate. Much like PLG you don't need to wait for the apocalypse before making a change. To use a football analogy Mourinho would happily make changes in the first half of a game rather than do a Walter etc and wait til the 80th minute when the game is lost before doing something about it.

Short of striking options. The only one other than Boyd I'd fancy to take a chance more often than not. Strange signing. Injured most the season, his goals made a big contribution to the title. Now punted down south on loan. Must be with a view to selling him. But at 31 will we recoup the transfer fee? Surely they are at least paying his full wage?
-
Good luck to him, will try to keep an eye out. Any idea of a fee. The paltry £200k that was mooted?
-
More good work from the club.

I'm away a couple of days and come back to find all our key players dropping like flies.

"It had been thought..." by our incompetent and ill-informed media. The fans, especially those who had viewed Bert Kassie's website, were already well aware. -
Never knew that. Funny how people you'd never given a second thought to can suddenly become a top bloke.
-
3-1 Davis to get one. Wont predict others as dunno who'll play the striking positions.
