  1. I doubt Wilson will have been all that bothered when he was left out. He played well in a number of games but a rest wasn't the end of the world for him and we should benefit again now while Bougherra is away. Definitely need to see more from Fleck - although he is another who has suffered from being played out of position.
  2. Yeah, the big man has 4-6 weeks to really prove himself worth the money (or at least a fair portion of it) we paid for him. He is capable of it but one has to wonder if he can rise above the negative media hyperbole to find the quality of game to win over his doubters.
  3. Newsquest is certainly allowing itself to be a key part of the media battle for supporter opinion with regard to the club's future. Although the status quo is hardly agreeable, time will tell if this coverage is to our (or the club's) benefit over the coming weeks and months. If it means Boyd is re-signed quickly then that is good news for all of us.
  4. Of course, one would say the puppeteers behind this piece are looking to play on such understandable emotions.
  5. Gregg Wylde fits the bill you outline but will probably be behind the likes of Fleck and Steven Smith at the moment; no to mention Novo, Beasley and Lafferty over the coming weeks. :wylde:
  6. Agreed Bluedell. I find it rather disappointing (and strange) when Rangers fans prefer to join those hostile to us in lambasting a young player for doing, well, hardly anything wrong. I'm much more concerned about his on-field performances and the best way for those to improve is via hard work from him and support from us. I look forward to the lad proving his doubters wrong over the coming weeks and months.
  7. Yeah will be Novo and Lafferty by the looks of it...
  8. Even these shady money-men (or not so shady if you buy Jordan's innuendo about Muir) would surely acknowledge Boyd's value to the club and is worth a new contract. Sanctioning this contract would increase his value, increase confidence amongst the support and increase our chances of winning the SPL. Not doing so would only bring the opposite which is no good for anyone - least of all Lloyds Bank.
  9. The guy it originates from is usually pretty decent when it comes to his information actually. However, I don't think there is anything new.
  10. Sorry to hear that... RIP.
  11. I wouldn't be buying into overly negative media coverage about the player. He's had his reprimand behind the scenes (by the club captain and by the manager) so I'm comfortable enough about that for the time being.
  12. Key word being allegedly... Not a surprise if they've rejected our first offer to be fair.
  13. Perhaps mate but not sure. Email the address in the original post and he'll confirm either way.
  14. Not a bad idea MB....
  15. Yeah 25K and we'll be doing well - £13 or not...
  16. Bazza is as rich as you so he'll probably use it as an excuse to fly out and pick them up...
  17. Been asked by the lads at RM to give this fine project a wee mention here. Phones 4 Them This is a project aimed at collecting old and unused mobile phones and converting them into cash in aid of the 'Former Players Benevolent Fund'. What we're asking is for anyone that renewed their mobile over Christmas or has an old mobile festering away in a kitchen drawer to bring them along to the Rangers v Hearts game on the 23rd January and make their unwanted phones go a good way to aiding the Fund. Collection points will be outside the Megastore, Edmiston Drive East corner of Ibrox and Edmiston Drive West corner of Ibrox from an hour before kick off. Alternatively, email bazzarm@hotmail.co.uk to send your phones to. So, wherever in the world you may be, there's no excuse not to get involved! Your participation is greatly appreciated.
  18. Yeah, I also agree the fee for what is clearly a player who needs a lot of care and attention was a gamble we didn't need to take.
  19. Yep, I agree with that Ian...
  20. Rangers suggest Boyd may not need an operation today....
  21. Is this the ref's fault?
  22. Like I say, both may get their chance up front but not on their own per se but by partnering Kenny Miller after his suspension this weekend. With Novo, Naismith and Fleck all nearing full fitness and the likes of Loy and Little also capable of playing in the first team, there's no need for a 4-5-1.
  23. I'm not saying McCulloch may not get his opportunity up front, just that - with the run of games we have coming up - the chance of a 4-5-1 is zero.
  24. Could be as short as a week or as long as a few months. Boyd hasn't suffered from many injuries in the past so hopefully will recover quickly.
  25. No chance of this. Miller will remain up front with Lafferty his initial partner. If he can't cut it, then one of Novo, Naismith or Fleck will get the nod.
